What is the price per create of advanced components? can anyone give me a general price range... (ie varying stats on the power/charge as well) for each component.. dont want to overprice on my vendor.....

This is a good question. I'd like to extend it a bit further and also ask if many docs make a living selling only crates of advanced component?

As with any other pricing question, It does depend on your server.

I am a Master Doc on Valcyn, and although i don't have a vendor, I do sell stims and componets (to some extent on the componets, depends on resources)

Usually for componets I do not sell full crates (50s) I make several crates and break them down into 5-10 packs. Usually I can sell these for 1k cpu. So 5k for 5-pack. This of course depends on the charges/power.

My current Advanced Liquids with a pwr of 177 easily get 1k-1.5k cpu. Where, while waiting for a decent Tat fiber my Advanced BECs 20/11 were only going for 600cpu.

Best bet is see if you can geta thread on your server board asking this question of other MDs. Or place a few on the bazaar for the price you think they are worth, or on your vendor. If they sell too quickly raise the price, if they don't sell, lower it. Alot of pricing issues can be solved with a lil trial and error.

I really hope this helps, if not...sorry for wasteing your time

I don't know why anyone would want to make a living selling subcomponents. The profit margin on finished goods is much higher than on subcomponents/resources. Why not do the extra factory run and convert them into stims, woundpacks or enhance packs? Making the subcomponents is the most time consuming part of med crafting, why would u want to let someone else make the lion's share of the profit when you did most of the work?

I've heard of major medical businesses selling their odds and ends of subcompoments left over from their main business, but never as a primary part of their business.

Well, there are some doctors out there that are tired of gathering the resources required to make subcomponents. For us, someone that sells subcomponents is just what we love.

Certainly, the margin you'd make selling subcomponents isn't going to be as high as it would be selling finished products. Of course, you're limiting the amount of resources that you need to harvest and limiting the amount of overhead - you don't need to produce gobs of different products (stims, wound packs, poison cures, etc).

So, you make your life a little easier and give up a little profit. I've found that a lot of people like to do everything on their own in this game. In my experience, that's the best way to get burned out in a hurry. Don't tie yourself down too much - try to leave yourself a little leeway to do some other things once in a while and I think you'll have more fun overall.

Sorry if it sounds like I'm preaching - I don't try to. The credits will come - I've got so many I just don't know what to do with them any longer. Try to have some fun along the way and, if you want to open a vendor to sell subcomponents, I say go right ahead. Sounds like a great idea.

As far as pricing goes, well, that's going to vary greatly from server to server and there's little I can do to help. For example, a LS with 150 power might be of exceptional quality on one server while it's considered poor quality on another server that has gotten better resources. Therefore, what you should charge might be based on that.

However, what I would recommend doing is going to some medical vendors and see how much they're charging for their meds. You'd like to set your price so that you make a profit over your costs but you still allow for those that would buy your subcomponents to make a profit. The only way you'll know what that number is, is to do a little research.
