If you're wanting to help out your PA then clearly this will be an added asset. If they are lacking in both doctors and combat medics then you will definitely be of service. This is a good combination if you're looking to play a support role in a battleforce...the ability to not only disrupt others mind pools, but also cure other CM's poisons and revive is essential to any attack force.
If nothing else, doctors are always welcome in PA's as far as I have seen. Try it out and if you don't like it then do something else. Also, in case you weren't aware, go the doctor route first and build your combat medic xp from giving out the buffs. Good luck with it and hopefully you'll find a support role rewarding as most of us have.

I am getting a second account very soon and I plan to master doctor and combat medic with the new character. I am curious what you veteran doctors think of this combination. My current character is closing in on master bounty hunter / pistoleer / ranger so plenty of combat there, plus being a trandoshan he will be a harvesting machine. I am mainly looking for a change of pace from combat. My PA definitely needs help in the doctor dept, and combat medic sounds fun, but are the 2 professions good when put together is what I really want to know.

I have this template and love it. I went on a few hunts with my current guild (before they let me join a RANGER only guild) and they quickly decided to let me join (and this was before I was master in either)
I don't do much in PvE - they usually kill stuff too quick
I die ASAP in PvP - but that's because anyone with a brain kills the CM quickly (plus I'm a wookiee)
They do love the free buffs and heals when doing guild hunts, especially krayts, kimos, nightsisters, etc... that is when I really shine.
I like playing a support character, if you don't you'll quickly tire of this combo. You'll have enough for 4 boxes in either rifle, carbine, or pistol, and most people will tell you that the pistols speed and low mind cost is the way to go, but rifle would work, if the people in your hunting party aren't TOTAL idiots and don't require you to huck stims every second.

I am a master of both and it would take a major shakeup for me to change my template. I'm basically pure support in PVE, but I can handle up to 4 storm troopers at a time if I play it right. My character is married to a commando and we make a very formidable team. In PVP, the doc/CM combo is probably the best way to counter other CM's. I don't have to worry too much about getting my poisons off first. If the other side's CM hits me first, I just cure myself, throw a nice area mind poison and tend to my group. With your first character's template, you obviously will have no trouble obtaining avian and herbivore meat, so making the good meds shouldn't be much trouble for you.
