Haha! I hate getting those tells all the time. People call me rude for ignoring them but if I wanted to buff them then I would stand with my droid at my side calling out advertisements. And what's worse is when they go "You gave me crappy buffs!" I respond, "Don't expect much when you have 500+ battle fatigue." Then they say, "bf doesn't calculate into buffs."

And here on my screeen is 6 different messages saying the enhancements are reduced due to my patients shock levels.....

In my experience with my own shock level battle fatigue (All entertainers live in Coronet.....), the patient gets the same message so how am I supposed to spell out something THAT obivous?

Oh, and I sometimes wear my Master Doctor title out at camped spots as punishment to people who think that running in and shooting my kills once while I've been tanking them for about 4-5 minutes and then stealing my loot is ok. I love to hear them grovel when they send me a tell for a rez..... The best part of being a doctor is that crucial rez at that crucial place that I almost always refuse to give.

Haha, it's even better when they cuss you out for not buffing them and five minutes later send you a tell for a rez.

I get a tell from an unknown player begging me to rez him. I feel bad for him and Im in a good mood, so I run out and find him (about 2000m) and revive him. He gets up and says :

"Thanks, ...I'd tip you but Im broke right now"

"No Problem..I understand, take it easy", I say as I start to run off

"BTW...can you BUFF me? I'll pay.", He shouts.

Here's on that happened to me not long ago while at the Dant mining outpost

In spacial

Guy: "How much for buffs"

Me: "10k a set"

Guy: "Wow, that's a lot"

Me: "Shhhh don't tell everyone in line. lol" (I had been buffing with a line for a about 45 min non stop).

Guys gets in line and I buff him when its his turn.

I check my log and he did not tip.

In tell

Me: "Can you check your log, I do not see your tip"

Guy: "Sorry man I have 1002000 in the bank and no way am I droping below 1 mil"

Me: thinking, hmmm did he really think my buffs were going to cost 2k even when I said they were 10k? I just started laughing.

Me: "Would you mind paying me, I need to log soon"

Guy: "How about I run a mission and bank tip you. You will have the money when you wake up"

Me: "Fine, it is your honor"

Next day I log in and can you believe it... no tip. Like I really thought he would tip me.

I sent him an email letting him know that his honor was worth less than 10k. Sad.

I have my Master Doc tag on even when I'm not buffing (I know, I know, mistake number one) So I just shuttle'd into Theed, and when I actually see my toon, I have 3 people standing within 5m of me screaming "Anyone Buffing????" So I look around and see no otherDocs, andwithin2 mins There were 15 more people surroundingme asking if anyone was buffing??? I felt like the middle man of a Circle Jerk that just had his blind fold removed.

DasShadow wrote: 1) Are you buffing? (OMG, if Im buffing I would be standing with my droid like an idiot advertising that Im buffing)

Yeah, everyone knows where you are and what you're doing as soon as they get into town or find you on a search. You doctors are the center of the universe after all.

DasShadow wrote: 5) Do you need avian meat? (If a doc wanted meat, we would go looking for it or advertising ourselves for it. I really cant stand this question during peak times)

Seems a lot of doctors disagree. You'd be pretty stupid not to take some of this 984OQ 845PE avian meat if I were to offer it to you.

You'd think people would take a second to think before posting something stupid just to jump on the bandwaggon. I see doctors all the time who are about to log off or run out of buff packs. Seems they complain when people don't ask if the doctor has time to add them to their line.

I do appreciate how easy most of you make it to tell which of you is a complete waste of time though. I commonly buy rounds of buffs for 10+ people and pay 300-500k for such sessions, thanks for making it easy for me to tell which of you I like to go to for these and which ones I don't. There's new doctors every day so those of you who actually think you make a real difference in the world and have attitudes and egos to go with that assumption make it easy on the decent doctors who make this game, let me say that again, game fun.

I know most of you are kids with something to say that you think is very impressive but the sooner you learn that people are in-game to have fun and each one of them is playing their game, which is not focused on you in any way, the better the game will be. Flame away now because contrary to another of your common opinions the rest of us don't care enough to read your replys anyway and we've forgotten about these posts as soon as we hit "Submit Post".

Eslam98,

This is just a fun thread for doc's to share funny stories. It is part of the FUN GAME mentality you are speaking of.

If you find nothing in this thread funny or enlightening then you have either never been a doc or some other crafting prof.

You should see the one the WS had going a few weeks back. I know nothing about WS and learned a lot about what not to do when working with them just from reading their "Top 10" list. I also laughed my butt off knowing that Ihad asked a few of those questions myselfnot knowing how it must be on the other side. I did not take it personaly that they were poking fun at me. I just took it in thevain it was intended.

It is not that people don't ask good questions it is just when you get asked that same question in the same way over and over again that gets old. This thread, for docs, allows us to share this expirence and have fun with it.

I am willing to wager that even you will think twice before asking "are you buffing" to a doc whom you just did a search for and happens to be out hunting. My be next time you may ask what you really want "Would you mind buffing me if you have the time" or something like that.

If you leave this thread and only have contempt for docs that post on this thread then you have missed the mark and have lost some of the greatest humor in the game.

These are just my thoughts and I am sorry if this comes off as a flame. I was not intended that way. I just wanted you to understand the nature of thread.

/agree

I asked this earlyer in this thread but nobody seemed to have an answer. If this bugs you so much what do you want people to do? Just stand there and look at you, or maybe tell you somehow that they want a buff from you? And I am a master Doc.

Here are some reasons why "can I get in line" gets old.

1. You also don't want to know if you may get in line. You really want to know is if you are in line will you get serviced. Maybe ask that question in stead. For example, "I just steped in line and I am 4th. Will you be able to buff me?". By asking the question this way you not only ask for information you privide some as well.

2. Think about the doc for a second. He/She is getting tons of tells from the 20 other people in line. This is why this question gets old. Any good doc will start making it clear that they are about tolog or is running out of buff packs. Try asking the other buffies at the other end of the line if any announcement has been make to that effect. They key point is try to reduce the number of /tells you send to the doc when there is a line, every little bit helps. Of course if things are slow most docs love to chat but at other times we can not simply type /r yes becuse two other tells have come since yours and now we have to type "/t BuffieNameIsWayToLongAndIAmABadTyper yes".

3. Also, and I'm no grammer king but the question is "may I get in line" not "Can". Ok, sorry, just had to toss that in.

Presonlly this question does not bother me at all. In fact I like the question because it makes me thing "Do I really want to keep sitting here draining all my game time or do I want to go kill something?". Often when asked that question I reply "no" becuse it make a great breaking point.

Thanks for a response. But The only reason i /tell the doc is to let him/her know I want a buff very few docs that are infront of my favorite starport have an actual line its usualy more of a mob around the doc. If you don't speak up you don't get buffed, so I throw them a quick /Can (may ) I get a buff? Or a /Can I get in line? Simply as a way to get the docs attention so he know I want a buff. In fact this is the only place I have ever even seen that it bothers other docs. I have never had a doc get testy with me about it in game.

Because good Docs have good PR, and vent here on the boards rather than at people they might get as repeat customers. Even the worst offenders can be reformed with time. However, sometimes there are people that cross the line...such as the dude that cursed me out for not buffing him so he could go hunt my guildies Jedi.

Like the Pheonix, he shall rise from the fire
And be born a new.

Flames will rain down upon all that oppose him
And when the embers cool

None will be left standing.

Glad I got out of buffing a long time ago, hehe. At MEDTEK we just sell buffs over 10000 sold and counting from the buffed to the buffer, to the almighty buff hehe.
