As long as we still have the ability to craft 900 ish power Enhance D's, I'll absolutely LOVE this new system.
Especially after I got a 1000 constitution buff on my Jedi tonight, which made him unplayable for 3 freakin hours (my comp has 1000 enc to Str and Con, leaving me with a 400 con, which is unplayable for a jedi)
I have +25/+25 BE med clothes and use a droid, and my packs are in the 850 range... suffice it to say I was not happy.
2 - 2.5K everytime across the board? I say heck yeah! Why wait til pub 7 hotfix it now!

Your Jedi was unplayable for 3 hours because of a 1000 constitution buff? Man, I remember back in the first few months leveling marksman and carbineer without buffs (no one really made them yet) without armor (I could not wear most of the bone or chitin) and I still leveled well.

You might want to re-think your armor situation if you can absolutely not play with a 1000 constitution buff.

Im all for the removing the random aspect of buffs. You work hard to make 922 base buffs and then buff for 1200. Frustrating as heck. And also

I'd like the new changes but one thing. There isn't much difference between higher and lower quality packs. My 870packs will buff around 2.4k while 800packs will buff for like 2.2k.
The problem is the time and money invested in the higher packs. I know I wouldn't care if I get an all around 2.2k or if I get a 2.4k pack.
So why should anyone bother to make the high enhancement packs anymore?

The devs had to address doctors' request to overwrite buffs. The good reason for that being for the times when someone got buffed badly by a lower doctor. The bad reason being 1337 d00d wants all 3k+ buffs. The consent/group logic would have fixed the good reason and left the rest out in the cold. And that's in so many other parts of the code, I'm sure it's just a couple of lines of function calls to check - not very hard. The change to med xp gain was needed for whatever solution they chose. Removing the randomness in the formula was easier I suppose.

Oh well, the change is already out of design, so we're stuck with it. I am not looking forward to it hitting live because I make my money buffing. And I spend a lot of time doing it. And it will be very boring to see the same 6 numbers over and over again. I doubt I'll get tipped over my base price, since there will no longer be an exceptional buff to wow my patient into a being more generous...

C'est la vie.

Thats funny. Griggs dont you have like 7-10 jedi's in your guild. Hell my best friend in this game is a jedi and when he gets a low buff we just hit a small cave or some tortons. Hell the first 4 days of playing his jedi he was 4 1 1 0 so I dont see that as a problem /grin

You can only hit for 3400 Matchstick? You made my point exactly

This is a massive nerf for the high end docs, and a blessing for those who still haven't learned the buffing system.

A 3700 health, 1500 strength, 3900 const is better than 2400 across the board. Any day.

Actualy I would beg to differ on that. 1500 strength is not enough on my TKA to spam UAHIT3 without ham cost with knucklers equiped. At around that point I'll be louseing 15 health or so every second. Now figure most of the times I want strong buffs are when I'm in my composit suit wich puts me at around -250 str/con unbuffed. that 1500 puts me at 1250 net STR wich at around that point I'll be louseing around15 health or so every second. that 3900 con (wich I might add I'v never seen a buff that high) regens quite quickly but not faster than I can burn through ham when tanking a heavy target wich leaves me no extra regen to cover dammage that comes in. I know for sure that at around 2k str I have no health cost with my knucklers wich leaves all the const to regening. I'd much prefer a 2400 strait accross and make sure I'm not killing myself as oposed to haveing a few insain stats and likely haveing 1 low critacle stat.

The most anoying thing is the low buffs always end up being on my cost stats when I'm buffing my TKA (doc is my suport account) all my kits are 850 strength give or take and when buffing for some reason the 1200's and ocasionaly lower always land on str or qui when buffing my tka. Everybody else gets 2-3k consistantly but my own acount gets crap on those two stats. Now I'v had a couple times where I got the golden 3k+ to all and it was nice and I'v had ones that all landes in the 2400 range. to be honest the 2400 was more than enough except when takeing on something way over my head wich 3600 strat accross wouldnt have helped with anyway.

I enjoy 3k buffs as much as the next guy but I think I'll get better milage out of consistant buffs considering my usal luck. the only thing that worries me about the change is the new crafting system if it stays as is. Not sure what I'll do when my curent stock of kits is gone and I'm stuck with the problems I'm seing on TC.

To Upgrade something implies that you are adding too, enhancing, and fixing the thing that you are upgrading. The CU does not do this, it is not adding too, enhancing, or fixing the combat system that is in place, it is replacing the innovative SWG system with the generic one used by its competitors. Be honest and stop calling it the CU, Call it the CR (combat replacement) instead

Just to throw in my two cents, but I think this is a change for the better. I mean, I don't know about anyone else, but I've never been disappointed by a 2200 buff. The way I see it, the benefit reaped from a buff going from 1200 to 2200 is much greater than any loss from a 3200 going down to 2200.

I don't get it... Am I the only one who is concerned that the difference between high and low packs will be far too low. Who will go through the effort making the best packs when lower cheaper ones will net almost the same result.

damn why didn't they just add a /consentbuff command or something... that way you would need to be grouped or consented to buff people...

or is that too easy?

(Umm I really hope that I didnt count right...)

By my figuring this'll give you 2557 point buffs.

Let me add my "grain de sel".

I can tell you are totally wrong and after the publish you would come and shout loudly about the big nerf BECAUSE : with the crafting system wich is actually tested on TC you won't hit 930 buffs packs unless you have over 900 OQ AND PE avian meat!!! (and all others resources)

So be ready for 600-800 buffs packs and If I where you I would start stockpiling the good Enhances packs right now.

And in my mind having a strait buff system is very annoying, they should transform docs in buffing droids. In that case the next step is to add medical droids with buffing capacities in all med centers. We would have to right click then select buff, drop the creds and voila.

Hmm... how about removing the randomness in slicing too?
