Thread: Am I the only one feeling nerfed?
Amen, Marrow
You've just hit the nail on the head for me. Before the publish, I used up a lot of my really good resources and went all out with some avian meat that hit on our server. I made 75 sets of 936-941 base/11.5k duration/89 med use. I was able to hit for 3500-3900 pre patch. Now, these packs with +20 bivoli/+25 BE clothing/110 droid will now hit for 2501-2515. Some 869 packs that a friend used with the bivoli, BE clothing/110 droid was hitting for 2369. I'm sure everyone knows how much harder it is to make a 936 pack versus an 869 pack. Like you, I wish there was some type of "bonus" or something that would help seperate the power of the packs between 800-900 packs. What this is going to do is take out the doctors that specialize in highquality enhance packs that can charge more for them, and penalize them because now, would you rather pay for a set of 850's for 50-60k per set or would you pay 100-130k for a set of the best buffs on the server when the difference is only 200 points and you can still hit for 2300 every shot?

In this post I've read 1 or 2 references to the term "shady buffer", what exactly is that?
I think thats when a doctor uses a buff pack lower than 700 and claims the low buff is due to a bad roll.

Well, let me reply in kind, Yehosha...as far as idiots go, learn to read please...your gross misinterpretation of everything I've been sayingsays quitea lotabout your obviously adolescent mindset. I never said I was too cheap to invest in either treatment clothes or bivoli. I've been a master doc long enough, on several different servers no less...and I ***always*** have the best resources, even if that requires I buy sometimes, in orderto get something better (how many people do you know with millions of units of fine-grade dolovite?). I realized the value of treatment clothes long before most people even knew they existed, and have at least 2 or 3 good sets of them on any given character, doc or not.
That being said, the money isnt even necessarily an object of concern, and never was...I've been around long enough to amass a very sizablebank account. If I see a newbie really needs buffs and is having a hard time affording them, he'll get a set whether he can pay me or not...of course its only going to be one set and he'll be paying for the next... but I'm willing to help a player out. I don't care whether the "mercenary docs" on this board like it or not, either.
That being said, I don't particularly like being dependent on a food in order to deliver a decent buff. Seems to be SOE gave chefs a "crack dealer" card when they revamped the profession, and made people quite dependent on them...but at the cost of other professions.Since vasarianbrandy came out, how many of you have asked a dancer or musician for mind buffs? Sure it's convenient, and its instant...but it set dancers and musicians back 6 months...it took away a badly needed source of income for these players (the real dancers/musicians, not the afk macrobots who know little to nothing of their profession). Of course the same "crack dealer card" was given to docs as far as buffs go, and hey, love to the chefs...it's not an easy crafting profession, I've tried it myself...but the SOE's over-reactive solution seems increasingly typical.
That being said, my biggest problem with the recent changes is that it removes a lot of the incentive for veteran docs to keep crafting the very finest. A player who puts in *half* the effort can now get great results...still not what a good crafter can do, but the people that this whole thing helps MOST are the people whoneither put the time nor the effort into crafting theirstuff. How is this "dumbing down" of the game helpful?
Suffice it to say that I've put in the work, and I have the goods...but that margin that separates a good crafting doc from a great one just got a whole lot more narrow. My buffs are still better than 99% of the docs out there, even without the food, and if you're on my server, chances are your clients are seeing me for buffs, as there are players traveling across the galaxy to see me to get a set. Perhaps a better solution to the problem would have been to put a hard cap, based on character level, on how low your buffs could hit. The ability to overwrite a lower buff would have taken care of the rest.
no one likes to be dependant on another class, but that is the way it's supposed to be, so we will HAVE to work together with other professions to be the best at our own particular profession...if you want to be an average doc then be dependant on no one but yourself....to be great you need help...there is nothing wrong with that...maybe you will make some friends along the way too....for most i would not say maybe but for you i'd say you have a 40/60 shot at making a friend
lol....the devs want to develop a community based game and i think they are doing a good job of it
you are right about how much it sucks that our 900+ buff packs dont make that much difference anymore..it sucks bigtime...but we have to deal with it...the difference between my 780ish packs and my 900ish packs is right at a 500 higher buff...but here is the key...it is higher EVERY TIME....and that is what is better about this doc patch...no more risk...yes i loved to get a buf in the 3700's, but it's not worth the risk of getting a 1300ish buff sometimes too...for you non math majors, that is a 2400 range
i don't know about you but i think that sucks
the new system is not perfect, but it is better than before for the doc profession as a whole when you add up all the facts and look at it objectively...just relax and enjoy the game...that is what games are for....ENJOYMENT...if you hate it so bad quit playing or try a different profession...cause obviously you have lost the fun in being a doc
and one last thing the only reason my buff clients would see you was because your mom gave them herpes and you give a discount to all of your mom's clients
haha..i'm so funny aren't i...lol...not really...lol
I'm a quite new master doc (maybe 2 weeks, can't remember)
I bought my first pack, and made the others
let me tell one thing
I get way better buffs now with the packs I bought (870) and I just managed to make a pack with 986 power, using AVERAGE components, and janta blood, with my clothing (not all +25) my droid and +25 bivoli, that specific pack hits for 2700+ (stamina pack)
you guyz who want to hit 3k over the board, it's still possible, but 3k on one stat was what we were getting before the patch, now we get the same average buffs than before.
if you want to buff for 3k, it's possible, but admit that 3k over the board is way better than what anyone used to do pre patch, so it's normal that it requires more work.
I started to collect ressources to make "premium" buff packs and hopefully they'll hit for 3K on ALL the stats.
then there will be a difference.
3k on some stats, less than 2k sometimes is not as good as 3k on ALL and EVERY stat.
LMAO, w1ggle hit it on the head!
Me I'm happy with the change and I dropped master. I'm at 3,4,4,0 and can buff 1700 on a constant basis using >850 D packs!

Classy. Speaks volumes about you. I won't get into a battle of wits with a little boy toting a pop gun. I will say however that imbecilic comments like this are unnecessary and unwelcome on this forum. When I ask for an opinion from the doc population, I expect a reasonably intelligent response rather than asinine middle-school comments fromsome half-wit15-year old hiding behind a computer his mommy and daddy bought for him.
If you can't exhibit a little intelligence toward a viewpoint that's not exclusively yours, don't comment at all. And before you start telling people to "look at it objectively", learn whatthat means, and practice it yourself before making any more hypocritical requests for objectivity.
My humble apologies to the rest of the board.

Not sure about everyone else, but personally, I feel kinda screwed.
Sure, it's nice to hit buffs consistently, without worry of the occasional 900-ish or 1k-ish buff slipping in somewhere...but considering my buffs already averaged above what I'm getting now...it feels very much like thousands of wasted hours ofcollecting the very finest resources so I can consistently hit buffs I was notecstatically happywith in the first place.
Combat professions, needless to say, are gonna be really happy about the change since they wont need to worry about a garbage buff, but I don't think these changes were made with the career doc in mind.I've asked around, talking toother "career docs" who have spentthe better part of ayear doing their job faithfully...and while this might be great for the newer docs...the guys who have only been docs a month or two, quite a fewof us who have been religiously gathering top-quality resources the entire time we've been playing feel like we've been given a good swift kick in the teeth.
