4) Can you heal my wounds?
(This I dont mind at all, unless of course this person has like 1 wound in every stat. Thats a major waste for us when you could just sit in the medical center for a minute to get that cleared up)

LOL thats like asking a master smuggler to open a locked container.

You would not believe.....

I'm just glad getting called Doc didn't get on the list. I guess I have bugs bunny ingrained since childhood.

My personal favs:

"Buff me before the ship leaves!" (And do what with my other 4,pre-paid,*polite*customers? Ignore them for you and make them miss their ship?)

l33td00d: HEy Morta can u buff me plz?

Me: (AFK) Morta Moire (Master Doctor)

l33td00d: Morta buff me?

Me: (AFK) Morta Moire (Master Doctor)

l33td00d: /tell Hey can u buff me plz?

Me: /afk auto-response: I'm away from the keyboard at the moment, and not buffing. Sorry for the inconvience.

l33td00d: /tell buff me

Me: /afk auto-response: I'm away from the keyboard at the moment, and not buffing. Sorry for the inconvience. (Please send me 20 more tells if you're confused and still need buffs)

And my all-time favourite:

Customer: "r ur buffs better than the buffs I got from the other doc?"

Me: "Uh...I don't know. What did they buff you for?"

Customer: "i dunno. R u better than him?"

Me: "..."

I guess it just makes it worse that I wait tables for a living, and have to put up with people's stupidity for *real* money. I wouldn't be doing it if I didn't like it, but I refuse to deal with jerks at my job, so why should I when I'm playing a game?

Heheh...then again, I have adopted genuine newbies, and vastly overcharge the jerks.

I am both a doc 4441 and a buff addict. I ask the "are you buffing" questions all the time. What I am curious about if it bothers ya all to get asked "are you buffing" or "can I get in line". How do you want us to find out if you are buffing and to tell you that we would like to get into line so we can get the buffs? If we just stand there looking at you are you going to get the hint?

I don't remember taking any oath to master doc....

(2) "Do you need exp?"

yes, I do...that's why i'm going to sit here and craft or shoot this monster and not heal you.

I have a little trick Ipull on people.

I charge them for rezing at camp spots. If I rez u and u do not pay me my fee, I put u on ingonre and laugh everytime I pass their bodies. I don't do it all the time, but I have to hunt too, and it is not nice to always ask when people suck playing the game(like being somewhere they can't handle).

Second, I have a really crapp set of buffs I use when people think I should buff them or complain since most of my buffs are not uber. It usally gives them under 800 roles for buffing. I only use that if theyreally pissed me off.

The best is though, when you say that your buff are around 1500-2000 and they say they wait for better. Well they wait. Nothing wrong with that, but since I said the same thing last nite to you, sometimes I want screw them over! But I can't!

By the way, I always give my faction cheap rates, do other people do that, and if it is a opposing faction and a person who has made me take long dirt napps, I usally double!

Some people are a joke, but I know we as a profession are really needed, to bad no pays us what we a re worth.

Where are the tips!

My ingonre list gets pretty filled.

What gets me is when there aretwo or moredocs on Coronet, both with lines and buffing well- and one of them evenhas a macro advertising, someone keeps yelling "I Need a buff! PST! I need a buff! PST!"Are you blind? There's two docs right under your nose with only 3-5 people lines! /sigh

And although people ask me to heal their little wounds, I usually just say "You have no significant wounds" and they most of the time say "ok" and drop it.

Ialways take good avian meat / good herbivore meat in trade, or even petro fuel maybe - but in my whole time of being a doc has never gotten an offer. /shrug

There is a similiar thread in the weaponsmith forum, being both I am getting a huge kick out of this. Some people( non docs and non smiths ) are getting a little steamed over the posts, but hey , its called a rant . We are here to vent the frustration of the relentless stupid questions we are asked. Now what we consider stupid questions can come from a true noob, such as if this is the first time they have seen a doctor of weaponsmith, but from players that have been around for a while, not thats just stupidity. Learn about the trade , we did.

This one happened to me the other night in bestine, decided to stop there to sell a few buffs to locals before heading to dathomir. This guy as 20m away, of course not the guys real name.

me; /shout Master Docter selling buffs , 8k for a full set , all buffs 2000+

dewd: ne 1 buffing?

me: /shout Master Docter selling buffs , 8k for a full set , all buffs 2000+

dewd: ne1 buffing? pst

me: /shout Master Docter selling buffs , 8k for a full set , all buffs 2000+

dewd: ne 1 buffing pst , paying well

me: /yell Master Docter selling buffs , 8k for a full set , all buffs 2000+

dewd: is ne 1 buffing please?

Seeing that no one else was around i get up to head on to dathomir to meet some guildmates who are hunting and need buffs and to sell buffs at the outpost. As I walk by this guy i jsut decide to

/slap dewd

dewd : what was that for , oh hey , can you buff me?

me: nope im in a hurry , dont have time.

dewd: @ss

For those that dont understand, its moments of pure stupidity like this that bring about threads like this one. doctors are bufing as a service and source of income, we dont have to but we do anyhow. The packs we make are our property and we are under no obligation whatsoever to use them on you in any way form or fashion. Cussing out a doctor becasue he cant buff you because he said he has no packs or has prior obligations is just plain rude. He or she might not want to buff or heal you for there own reasons, but they might jsut be out of buff packs and wound packs, ever think of that.

So what nobody can think of a way to ask if they can get a buff without asking for a buff?

We dont really like being asked if we are buffing. Normally if you stay by a starport and a shuttleport, you will see a line of people standing around for buffs and a doctor is usually standing in front of that line with his droid out. And MOST of the time, he will be advertising that hes buffing. If a doctor is in "search people" and you know theres a doctor around but you dont see him buffing around the starport or cantina, its most likely hes NOT buffing and doesnt want to be bothered.

Except Taycie (kiiara in Shadowfire), she likes to be bothered. You can ask her anytime for a buff if youre in Shadowfire, just send her a tell like crazy..she loves it. =)~
