I have also added a FAQ for "What creatures drop the best herbivore/avian meat."

Looks good to me (and thanks again for maintaining this.)

The only other suggestions I can see might be to move "What resources do doctors need to make their medicines?" up under the crafting question and before the discussions on the formulas. That way you go more form the general to the specific in the details,I would think.

Done. There's little rhyme or reason to how the questions are ordered. The most I ever did with that was to divide the questions into sections, but the order within the sections is random. Some of it was logically laid out when the FAQ started, but things have been added and removed since that have pretty much destroyed any sense of structure.

Here's another we've been getting more of (about crafting again. )

Why does my experimentation say that I had a Good Success, but the stat I was trying to experiment on went down?

You have to ask yourself if this iaan experimentation that affects multiple stats. For example on Enhance Packs, experimenting on Effectiveness affects both the base Power and the Duration of the packs. When you experiment on that one line (effectiveness) you affect both of those ratings. What the system does is "roll the dice" twice, even though you ponly pressed 1 button, and applies the two results to those two ratings, then it provides feedback on the average of those two results. So if you when you hit the Experiment button your Power got a failure, but your Duration got a Great Success, then the average might be something like a Good Success, but your Power would have actually gone down while the Duration went up.

You might want to clean up my wording, though.

It looks good, but I would add that the extra +5 on experimentation does serve an extra purpose. Obvioulsy the +20 is all you need for the 2 EPs, but that extra +5 still counts towards reducing your chances of crit fails and increasing chances for the better successes, at least to a small degree.

You know what. Another thread actually brought this to my attention. I don't know if this is true at all. That +5 may just be wasted because we have a seperate skill for Assembly.

Indeed. And, as you normally get bonuses to assembly hand in hand with bonuses to experimentation, it's impossible to determine which does what. It has always been my assumption (and it really is nothing more than an assumption) that medical assembly reduces the chance of critical failure when assembling the item (resulting in a loss of all resources) while medical experimentation reduces the chance for failure when experimenting on an item.

Like I said, it's an assumption, but it seems the most logical explanation to me. Unless someone has proof one way or the other, I'll leave it as it is.

One thing that'd be nice to add here is something like a "Patient FAQ" - like a description of what doctors can do for the rest of us, exactly? I'm still kinda clueless about how buffing works exactly, for instance.

Hello all, and thank you for that GREAT faq mcglonec. I'll need to take a few runs at it to digest all the math-is-hard type entries

I do have a question that I didn't see mentioned in the faq (although it is late at the end of a long work week so forgive me if I just missed it): But what exactly do Medical droids do? What stats/abilities/ratings do I look for in a 'quality' droid? Do Med droids come in different styles/flavors? How do they combine (if at all) with Crafting Stations, bio-enhanced clothing, etc? Being completely ignorant of droids in general, I see droid batteries all over the place. How long to they last? Any strategies for "effective and efficient use of your med droid" to avoid burning out batteries by the crate unnecessarily?

Thanks in advance!

This is probably not a question for the FAQ. Try starting a new thread.
