I cry BS.
How many of you who posted your so-called averages actually did any research or just posted a "gut" feeling? I have seen very little change in both the buffs I am getting and the buffs I give, if any at all. I seriously doubt anything substantial has changed in the doc buffinglogic.
Two nights ago I gave a buff to a player that had every stat over 2800, 4 were over 3000. Conversely I have given buffs that had every stat under 2000, although these are equally rare. I think we tend to remember the really bad ones the most, and they make us suspect problems with the system.
Please, if you want to post averages, back them up with real, hard, cold facts. Don't just wet a finger and stick it in the air and say 1500 average. Log your buffs for a night, collect them all and compute a real average. Anything else is speculation. Also, give the power of your buff packs.
As a side note I would be far happier if my buffs ALWAYS BUFFED THE SAME AMOUNT! It would be easier to set a fixed value on them, and tell players EXACTLY what they are paying for. If my buffs were always exactly 2186 when using a 900 powered pack, I would be quite happy with that. You could tell players to pay so many credits per buff and they would get their money's worth. No surprises, no bad luck, no hard feelings on either side. Docs would have better chances for competition in the buff service based on pack power. Those who made and sold high end buff packs couldeasilycharge a premium for them since the measurable difference might help make the doctors selling the buff service more competitive.
I've only done less than 10 buff sets, probably, since one of my characters made Master Doc.
But I seem to be getting these results:
1. Lows of 1200s, highs of 2300s. No higher. I use 800-911 power enhance packs, my gal wears +25 Injury and wound treatment BE'd clothing. I haven't used my surgical droid when buffing, will try that next time to see if there's a difference.
2. The power of my e-packs seems irrelevant to the eventual buff. Does that value even go into the formula to determine the final buff? I've tried low end (pwr 650) packs vs. high end (pwr 911) packs in the same set of buffs, and got big buffs with the low end stuff, lousy one with the good packs. It doesn't seem to make any rhyme or reason.
I do wish the Devs would give us a narrower variance, and base the buffs on both power of the packs and skill of the Doc. The way it is now, a client could get as good (or as bad) a set of buffs from a Master Doc as from one who's not made Master as yet, all thanks to one big, mysterious set of die rolls. That's not a good way to have it.
Hey Davy...you'll have to get with me in-game and we can talk about this.
As for the topic at hand....I also got master doctor after the vehicle patch went live.
I'mmaking 860 powerbuffs and getting 1200-3200 range. I use a 110 med droid/BE clothing/Master doc. I'm just glad others are having the same problem...I remember a couple months ago getting buffs that averaged 2.5k to every stat and I just can't seem to acheive that.
It's also very random...same set of buffs....I'll hit my partner for 2k-3k on all stats....then i'll turn around and hit myself for 1.2-2.2k.
Thanks for whomever said something about the repair on the BE clothing, I'll have to try that...as well as disconnecting before I buff. I'll give both of those a try.
1500-3000

I get 5 out of 6 stats under 1k as often as I get 1 stat over 2500pts. Haven't gotten a 3k+ buff since the change. I JUST NOW got my first 6 stats under 1000 buffed in a row on the same character. It's either broken or its nerfed...
I would just like to see the MD get his 2300ish average back, and see the high rated enhance-D's mean something. I get the same results using base enhance rated 770's as I do 912's. I'll break the 973's out of the bank when all this is resolved. For now, I'd rather risk the mediocre packs I have left over.
Update on my average over a period of 7 hours of fun loving buffs.
All I can say is a lot of grumpy customers
Health ~1.1k
Con ~1.8k
Str ~2.3k
Action ~2.4k
Qck~1.2k
Stm ~1.1k
For a total average of 1650. Thi is with all my packs at 913 Base. I ended up using about 200 of each buff to get this data. It was a painful task, but I think my data shows that there is a big problem with the buff system right now. Atleast for me.
