Thread: Complete List of Doctor Issues (Discussion)

That's how it appeared. At one point, all of the players other than the doctor were killed - the doctorwalked to each player, rezzed him, yet remained covert. Each time the larger group took down these players, the doctor would rez them with no danger to himself - he remained covert throughout the process.

Not to really rant, but after experiencing 'fun' PvP and dying twice a few days ago, I have to ask: Do none or not many of the doctors now not care about AoE poison/disease heal enough? I just briefly saw the Nov. SotP for doctors, but I don't think it made the list this month on which we could vote on. Honestly, I think this has to be one of the most unbalanced aspects of the game. On a side note, if anyone happens to know and I'm too lazy to search more this late at night, but do covertmembers of a group with overt/TEF people, when getting hit with AOE P/D, are they affected as well? I'm assuming not, but I want to make sure.

And I guess that is a resounding "Yes" to my first question.

No forced interaction (in an MMORPG?), but hey, the expansions sure seem forced.

Upon reflection, I can see that allowing a re-buff on top of an existing buff would permit a Doctor to continually apply enhances until they get an excellent result. However, note my comments about the amount of variance of the results.

Whoa. You don't see any of thsoe mentioned? What were you looking for that my titels were not clear about? I need help making sure folks do see these things mentioned. I'll list the relavent Issues below for you so you can help me out there.

LuellaLokidottir wrote:

I don't think you mentioned this bug: several times I have crashed out of thegame, or logged out with buffs. When logging back in my buffs are gone, but the timer is still active so I can't re-buff. This could be fixed by allowing re-buffs even though buffs are currently on a player/creature, provided it is the same level of enhancement or higher. Plus a warning box (xxx already has an enhancement to that attribute, are you sure?). I can't see how that can hurt.

Under Bugs:

5.Enhances Dropping on Logoff and Not Allowing New Buffs

Personally I am not impressed with CH's being able to heal their own creatures. SOE developers claim profession interdepency is designed and desirable, but CH's are and always have been one of the least dependent. I suggested in another thread that pet wound healing should be placed in an elite profession, either BE or Doctor. The former would probably be better to make the profession morepopular. Moving StimB's out of novice medic would help too (as has been called for so often).

Under Balance:

13.Pet Stimpacks

Lastly, and again I didn't see this mentioned, I think the variance on the effects of heals/enhances is much too high. My EnhanceD's will grant anywhere from 800 to 3000+ extra attribute points (using the same pack), and seems to average somewhere around 1400-1700. If the variance were reduced, there might be room to fit in health/stam EnhanceE's in master doctor that would average 2000-2500, and make that skill boxmore valuable. Note that I went all the way to Master Doctor purely because the medicine use allowed me to use the effect-experimented health/stam Enhance D's that I could make at DoctorCrafting 4, in my opinion the other attribute enhanceD's are really overkill and don't have any more practical value than their corresponding EnhanceC's.

Under Gameplay:

3.Enhance Packs Variability%&*

7.Enhance Griefing/Override&*

Be sure to read the full text on the Issues to see if there are Dev responses, which there are for the Buff Overwrite idea under Gameplay #3 & #7.

Thanks for the prompt response. Unfortunately I simply missed those paragraphs because my IE6 has the unfortunate habit of occasionally scrolling down two pages at a time instead of one when clicking on the scroll bar. It's a long post and I was really just skimming through it. My apologies. Idid catch the pet heal stuff, my comments there were meant to be an addition to the discussion.

I would like to think that the variance, re-buff and the possiblity of health/action Enhance E's in Master Doctor should be taken together instead of of separate suggestions. They make more sense when considered as a whole rather than as individual thoughts.

The problem is that when I did have things lumped together like that the Devs tended to selectively read and respond only to some part of the Issue instead of as a whole. Plus other issues were getting, or not getting, votes becaues of agreement or diagreement with some part of an issue that breaking them out has allowed me to seperate and cut the chaff from the wheat, if you will.

I was unsure where I sould post this and/or if it has already been posted. I would like to see the Docs/CM's being able to place a vendor. The way they have it know, you cant be a master Doc and still have a Master combat skill, such as TKM or pistoleer... and still have enough skill points to have a vendor. Doc's and CM's hould somewhere be alowed to have a vedor or the Devs should make it so you can share admin to a vedor and sell what you want and recieve the money from the sales not the owner of the vendor.

Or just for fun.... Maybe the Player hospitals should come with a vendor in them for any medic, doc, cm could sell on. That would promote sales of meds in hospitals.

That issue has come up here before and when I was Doc Corre I never added it to the list because it never got much support. The reason (which I personally agree with, but that's not why it didn't make the list)is that there is an entire profession virtually devoted to Vendors and selling the use of those vendors to others. To givve something like that to Docs would very directly impact the Merchant profession in a BIG way.

No I would add that while it is posible for a merchant to put a vendor into someone's house or Medical Center, only they woudl actualy have admin rights on that Vendor. It would be nice if they could include others on their admin rights list and that is probably an issue best brought up on the Merchant forum. I keep thinking there was some kind of exploit centered around that ability, though, and I can't remember what it was.

Also it is possible to go up in merchant to the point where you can get a Merchant vendor (not on the Artisan ones) and you would then be able to keep the vendor even after dropping merchant. However that ability is a pretty big issue with the Merchants and it is acknowledged as a bug (but not considered an exploit, as in not a bannable offense.) However, since it is acknowledged as a bug it will likely be fixed at some point inthe future and such a vendor might disappear, so I would not fully rely on that particular ability.

Despite some people getting offended by this, if you look at the time spent, and heals used...it takes LONGER to do the tumble/heal thing --

-- you get more XP from groups and such in combat.

I'd rather them fix the Experimentation bug, and even fix crafting problems before anything else. As a master doc, you should never, ever, ever fail on a BEC, it's simply stupid. Could you imagine a Doctor of 15 years experience IRL fudging up a bandaid?

> 12.Droid Low Power Notifications

One additional detail -- it might be nice to know that your droid is no longer available (out of power) when you're ina camp or otherplace where you still can heal, but at a lower rate. I typicallynow get patients outside regular healing locations soI don't accidently buff someone with a reduced power buff just because I'm now considered inside the cantina instead of near my droid.

I'll just add the only thing that really really annoys me is buffing being so random.Seems like there is no real difference between a 750 rated buff than a 890 rated one.Still I get 800-3200 range.I think a master doc should never have one below 1500 with a 800-850 rated pack and anything over 850 should be in the 2200 range or higher.I dont know though I never buffed before i made master so I dont know how crappy they can get.Although one time some idiot buffed with just to get xp and I think it was 200.In general you nailed it ,its just way to random.Making getting the good packs,or making them seem totally worthless. Not to mention what you tell the poor person your 890 rated buffs just gave them a 800.

Ive only been playing little over a month though lol what do I know.......

Since I am no longer the Doctor Correspondent I categorically refuse to do it. You'll have to get Traigus to do it instead.
