Monga_Meds said it best.

The cost of the resouces is not that great. You can use grinding quality resouces in them. The true cost is risking you neck and the time it takes. I charge based on those factors. 1k-10k.

Since that didnt go the way i planned. I was in the geno lab the other day doing the missions, had my master doc tag on as always. I am soon Spammed with like 10 tells asking for a res... Now me Im not the strongest doctor out there so i would have to risk my ass to go res them in some incredible large mob.. So i make a reply and ask for 10k.. Now most of them were more then happy to pay.. Considering getting rebuffed the drive the wounds.. they would save money. But a few people just blew up and flipped out about asking money for a res. What do you think, i dont want to be the only doc to charge to res someone. If i am the only doc to charge i will just stop ressing. So theres the vote /charge or /no

/charge

It's a game. . . charge what you want and have fun. If you want to charge and you have the skill they either pay or rot.

Personally I wouldn't charge but that's just me.

I dunno,

For example, you dont need to charge people on DAOC do you? you get rezz spells for free when lvling up. on EQ you buy the Spell and you have it forever. on SWG, you have to buy all the componants to make stims or Rezz packs out of your own pocket, you have to manufature the items in a factory which you bought, the factory costs money to run.

Most players, from experience of other MMORPG's, do get a little upset when asked a fee because most never had to before but our overhead is too much to offer it for free.

Never played those games so I don't know.

Like I said if you wanna charge then do it. They pay or they rot and if they start to send a ton of tells /addignore and let their corpse sit there. It's that simple. Me personally I won't charge and the simple reason is because I don't want too but that's just me. Ifyou want to charge then you charge. If you simply don't want to charge then don't.

The danger for me is minimized becauseI'm also a master elite combat profession (TKA but switching to Pikeman) so if I'm buffed a 10K HAM mob won't be a big deal to me.

I don't know about you guys, but I've never got a long distance rez call before. The only distance rezzes I get are in caves when I split from my group to go solo for a bit. If it takes more than 3 minutes to get to the other side of the cave (jinda, for instance), then I tell them it's too late. Groupmates (I only group with friends)are free, never hunted with my guild before (just joined yesterday) but they'd be free too, and if I like the person sending the tell, they're free as well. Anyone else, well...... It depends on the situation. If for some godawful reason they went out unbuffed with 400 health/action and got killed fighting banthas or nunas, I laugh till the timer is just about done, then pretend I ran out of packs, then I rez them. Sometimes, I keep up with the "out of packs" routine, just to teach them a lesson in humility. Common sense just isn't common these days.

When I was but a wee wookiee healer, just having gained the rez ability and armed with the freshest Rez Pack I could buy (thank you Eerif for your tutelage and patronage) I was also leveling up pistoleer on Dantooine, and doing so with some really good Herbivore spawn and a decent group. This was when people were just starting to build near the IMP outpost.

Anyway - I am hunting, my group is staying alive, we're killing everything in sight, and I'm getting more xp than I got fur, along with a sizable stack of Herbivore.

Then I get a tell, from someone soloing a Dark Jedi. He died, and needed a Rez. I proposed it to the group, and we all traipsed off to find this guy. At the time, I didn't know about the /waypoing feature, so I just had it written down on a pad. I also didn't know that after you /waypoint, you can Ctrl-M map and see what city is closest... suffice to say, I *RAN* to this guy (back before mounts even) across Dantooine with a semi-noobish group. We get there and he's decided to clone, so we're left facing the Jedi... we all die, but it was a fun experience. That is the farthest I've gotten a tell from, aside from a tell from Ft. Tusken (them) to Mos Espa (me) back when Espa was a happening city (before Player cities).

People don't appreciate the difficulty in getting to them, the time involved, and the effort put forth. They invariably pepper you with /tells "bro ne idea how long?" and whatnot, and almost never thank you or tip you (back before I told people pricing up front).

Anyway, long rant to say that cross planet rez requests do/did happen, but not so much anymore. I tell most people these days that with the ABSURDLY short timer on rezzes these days, that they'll be impossible to rez once I get there. They generally don't believe me, but that's about the time they get /addignored anyway...

I personally would like to see a timer pop up on your screen when you are lying there counting stars. That way Jim Bob Uberleet could tell for himself how long he has to talk nice to a Doctor and persuade/bribe/banktip him into coming. They have it for Incap, add it for Rezzing. That way, I don't have to speederbike 5k+ to the geonosian caves and fight my way down there (again, look at my template) to find out that my party is unrezzable.

Never Recived a dime from those guys and never seen them agin I think. 10k is fine Should be more but its a start make them pay for all services. Do they go to a Weapons Smith and say Hey Id like a Free Kryat I got killed and when I repaired due to the decay it broke : ). Now lets see 10k Hmmm Check the prices on the guns there buying Im a True MEDIC like a Imp told me one day hey Medic boy get out my way after he waisted me while trying to help a guy in a PVP battle know what I got for my trouble from the fellow reb? So, the risk is minimized for you. The question then becomes: How much is your time worth? Is that really what you want to be spending your game time doing - running around and rescuing players that forget to insure their armor, for free?

Believe me, themore you do that, the more they'll remember that you do it and the more they'll ask you to do it.

My "time" doesn't mean much to me. I don't factor in "time". This is a game and I play it to have fun. When you factor in "time" and the mentality that goes along with it it stops being a game and starts being work and I already have a job. I do this to have fun. If someone's down and I have a crate of rez kits each with 29 uses and I'm in the middle of a big huge dungeon then I just don't mind rezzing the person. If they give me a tell asking for a rez and I can't do it I tell them "sorry can't right now busy"

I'll just take my chances I guess.

The cost of making a low end 10-11 charge rez pack is about 240 credits in raw materials plus whatever energy and factory maint costs there are. If people don't treat you right after you do them a favor, blow them off, but it's really not cost to help them.

I whole heartedly agree with the charging idea for rezzing people.

Whilstlevelling up medic and doctor, i spent a fortune on resources (not an artisan so couldn't survey) by actually healing people that needed it andnot healing afk tumblers (I tumble 4 j00, tipz me plz) - God, that still anoys me now.

Not only did I not get tips most of the time (not that much of a problem) but most of them would leave the cantina/med centrewithout even saying thank you. That really annoys me.

Whilst I was levelling and now that I am a Master Doc,I am more than happy to heal or rezz anyone for free if they seem like a decent person or ask nicely. Anyone that demands healing or rezzing as their god given right get an /addignore from me. Those people that assume that all Master Doctors are rich should take a look at my bank balance now!

Like previous posters have said,I will heal / rezz guild or group for free andI will buff guild for free.

Ifpeople want the services of a Master Doc, they must be prepared to pay for them... there's no such thing as a free lunch

Got a chuckle out of this one. Only because it is so very true.

I just got the res ability the other day and hve been out to tusken and such. And have developed a policy to rezzing.

Part 1: I will not charge a group member for a rez. I like to group with random people i don't know, i still res these guys free, it helps make new friends-My friends list has grown 2xs b/c of this. Guildies or toons i know are free also. Will sometimes goof round with the guild and try to charge them.

Part 2: Anybody no in the above category better hve some cash. I tipped docs tha res me even if they didn't ask for money.

Part 3: Ressing depens on what mood i'm in or conditions of where i am at. If i am at fort tusken and it is pretty crowded and i happen to be the only doc or only person with res abilities i usually will not rez people that fall in Part 2 due to the fact it helps thin out the area.
