It is also a good idea to tell em to hold tips before you buff otherwise somebody might get a free buff

This is what i do....

*JoeSmoe kills me about 2 hours before he comes to me asking for a buff*

*he also laughed and sat on my corpse calling me a newb, and would not DB me. Just kept incaping over and over*

JoeSmoe: You buffin?

Me: yes 7K, but not to you. Your price is 50K

JoeSmoe: are you serious? what did i do?

Me: Remember how you kept incapping me and calling me a newb? well heres my revenge.

JoeSmoe: I'm not paying 50K for some crappy buffs from a newb doc.

Me: Well seeing how theres no other master doc's online in this city you either pay the 50K or you go without a buff.

JoeSmoe Tips you 50000 credits

*his buffs were all around 2500-3100 so i guess that was a fun ordeal..*

Or scenario 2!

BillyBob: hey you buffin?

Me: yes 7K for full set

BillyBob: do you tip back for low buffs?

Me: No, the buffs are random.

BillyBob: alright well i'll go find another Doctor.

Me: alright good luck

BillyBob: Buying master doc buffs!

*20 minutes later*

BillyBob: alright i'll buy your buffs for 7K

BillyBob tips you 7000 credits

*his buffs were all 1800 and higher*

I had one person that I buffed make a comment afterwards something like "what a waste". He's currently on my ignore list.

i wish more people would realise that they need to tip peopple for training, tip entertainers (poorly for AFK). tip medics and docs for healing and wounds. A little politeness goes a long way.

Hah, want a buff for 8K on Kettemoor? Go to Theed. I got...... "spoken to" for selling a buff there for my normal 10K price. Asked if I made my own and when I said I didn't, she said "You're ripping your customer off! You charge 10K if you make your own and 8K if you buy!" This was a master doc by the way, in a guild I respect a lot. Hell, even my customer said what I was thinking: "What difference is 2K to anyone but a new player? Buffs are worth so much more than that!".

I'm a new doctor, I'm not much, with not much of a rep.....Yet. But I'd like the docs on all the servers to come together, form a union perhaps. Start a tiered system for charging. Say, 12K for master doc buffs, 8K for 0440 docs. Offer incentive to keep everyone in line, and if was raised this way across the board (minus friends & guildmates) I don't think ANYONE could have a problem paying that much. Hell, as a novice fencer, 0000, I could make 1500 per mission and run 20 missions before my buffs ran. That's 30K for a 12K investment. So it's not like we're charging more than we're worth. You buff a master, and now you're talking 4-8 enraged rancor mission between 2 people, 30K each, making the person at least 120K for every 12K he spends. Or better yet.... You can finish a theme park on one buff. Sell the loot from the theme park for just about 1 million. Granted, the last example was rare because you can only do a few themeparks in your SWG life, but still.....

Hah, tip for training? I'm hard pressed to see someone not offering to PAY you for them training you. Usually if they're spamming my area & I have 30K in scout XP saved up, I give them the whole thing just to shut them up. 580AP is worth the hassle, especially since I get 2K xp for every creature harvested in the Geonosian lab.

Actually, I don't like to buff for money. Uses up my buff-paks too quickly, I'm in a decent sized guild with lotsa fighters and few docs, and I have 3 accounts so my commando can always do missions for cash. However, there are ocassions when I'm REALLY low on cash and I'll sit at Dant or Dath or Endor and buff folks who ask nicely. When they ask the price, I tell 'em "The price is whatever you think the buff is worth when I'm done, since I can't guarantee the results of the buff." Surprisingly, this has always worked quite well for me. The people who don't know what's going on with the random rolls call me a noob and go look for a doc "Who knows what he's doing." The people who DO get buffs generally tip me 8-10K per set. I usually get more than the standard rate on my server (7K) and get a few chuckles if any of the rolls do come out badly. I've also buffed for barter. In the pre-Pub6 days, I buffed for a full crate of 511 Fishak. Seems if you give people the chance to be a good guy/gal, they like to take advantage of it. And I haven't been stiffed yet. I probably will be one day, and that person will then go on my S-list and the lists of my Guildmates, but so far it's been very satisfying to work this way. Oh, I keep my Master Doc title non-searchable and change to the Novice Gunfighter title when passing through Coronet or Theed.

ive had several like that. tonight i discovered a great solution though. i go afk and put in my afk disclaimer : "yes. im buffing. i charge 10k for a full buff. i use 900+ buff packs for each stat. buffs are unfortuanitly random. i give no refunds and no appologies for bad rolls. i use +110 med droid and +25 bio clothes along with bivoli timari to further enhance mybuffing abilities. if you want a buff, tip me 10k and join the back of the line. do not complain about bad rolls. i have no explanations for them. after buff is over thank me and move along. any whiners are instantly added to my ignore list. have a nice day."

with this simple disclaimer i ran out of buff packs eventually while making about twice what the other 6k buffers were making. i never spammed that i was buffing and didnt get repeated tells from potential customers. had very little question answering to do and had 0 complaints about bad rolls. the only comment made were "thanks", "great buffs", /bow. that is it. i think the customers actually want a doc to lay the law down for them. i had several customers tip well over the 10k pre pay after the buff. even a few on just some so-so buffs. they saw from the beginning that i didnt take any crap, thus they smartly decided not to give any out. i did this little experiment in coronet by the way. the infamous low priced buff market of the galaxy. did it with at least 2 other docs buffing at all time. dont know how long their lines were because i couldnt see past the pack of mine. between selling B stims and buffing, i made over 500k in about an hour and a half. was relieved when i actually rann out of packs. was going crazy. anyone left in line i buffed for 1.5k for each stat i had left. they didnt complain either. i encourage all doctors to toughen up and take up a similar policy. lay it all out before anyone has a chance to waste your timewith mindless complaints. the only negatives i even got today was in a tell. and they were along the lines of "ok. thanks. little too much for me though". they dont even go on my ignore list. they simply didnt have the funds for my amazingly efficient professional service.

xarkuhn- no crap takin doc
