I agree, I hate the whole tumbler-leveling thing. Cripes, whatever happened to being a doc in order to actually heal people who need it. It's just a shame when the only medics and docs around are AFK macro healing AFK macro tumblers. Bah.
First you need people that actually need healing. When I was climbing up doctor these were rare. I had times I could sit in a hospital for half an hour without a single person coming in to be healed. Then when one person does come in with 75 damage, 5 medics jump on him for the exp and no one gets very much.
I remember in the good ol' days...well, you all know the story. I can't wait until the holo-grinding thing is gone for good and NO ONE will want to be a doctor unless they want to heal other people. (Well, or buff themselves, but that's a smaller population.)
The 'good ol days' were before player cities when everyone was concentrated in the regular cities and there were always lots of injured people heading to the hospital to be healed.
Very valid points made here...
I dont have anything against people that do it the hard way, I am just defending what I think shouldn't be a problem... although someone made the point of being a master doc and asking how to craft doc stuff... I dont blame tumblers for that as tumblers cant really effect crafting knowledge of a player..
I have been playing since release, I was a master artisan till I dropped it for master CH... I have the mechanics of crafting down... I was a medic the entire time I have been playing... I have had at least one healer class character in every MMOG I have ever played... Like I said I know enough about game mechanics(not just this game) to not be a total newb and I have been covertly skimming through the doc boards for a while doing research on the prof... (why I posted in the first place
)
I am just saying I can actually gain xp in this profession as fast if not faster then my powergaming (single jobless wonders) buddies can.... First prof I have been able to do that with...
mastering profs is pretty easy.. If I ever decided to do the holo grind (and if I was single) I could go through any 4 profs in about 2 months... (well maybe not BH.. the investigate tree is a **edit**...) I am over here thinking I was going slow....
By far the first prof I mastered took the longest. Pistoleer, about 1 month. Then came Artisan, about 4 days, CH about 3 weeks, rifleman, another 3 weeks.... Scout, hard to tell cause I started out scout and had two trees full for CH already... Prolly about a week (before survival xp could be had by crafting...) then medic, about a 2 days to grind craft org chem... (sorry but I had org chem 4 like 4 times, decided to grind it this time...) and the Doc, so I was wrong this will be my 7th prof... in 8 months...
My wife who plays less then I do already master 4 prof.s and rerolled her toon 3 times..
I have about 2 hrs a day that I can sit at my computer.... not straight mind you, but semi afk. then on saturday and sunday nights I get about 4-6 hours more or less undisturbed... thats about it.... some weeks I dont login and some weeks I login almost twice as long.. depends whether I can sleep or not![]()
I saw a chance to get med xp (besides the old way of going between hospitol for wounds and cantina for entertainers....) and I took it... I dont feel bad about either... do I think it was "wrong" of me? nope... ![]()
and the m-rifleman by shooting yourself in the foot... that was funny!
