I'd have rebuffed, and always diagnose first if I see any black mind bar. Of course you're well within your rights not too, he asked for buffs and got buffs. Just for a happy experaiance all around it doesn't take much to use another shot, as I've done for high BF and even players going link-dead. Depends on your margins I suppose.

However I don't think you can expect people to know the ins and outs of buffing, anymore than someone who'd never made any armour would know the quirks of layering or whatever (I'm guessing here... never crafted armour either). It doesn't take much to shout your amount enchanced adding "(assuming less than 250 BF)". I see many docs shouting merely "Buffing for 8K" and always think they're just making life much harder for themselves with the inevitable barrage of questions, but that's another ramble.

I wouldn't have given his money back or buffed for free - unless of course he finds a way to "magically" make those charges reappear in my packs. I wouldn't have put him on ignore either, just in case he said something about me later that was reportable, plus people are entitled to their opinions and sometimes those opinions, even negative onesare entertaining.

if they have bf i usually try to warn them. i tell them they have high bf and it will effect the buff.. then i ask if they would like me to continue. Some people dont realise BF will effect the buff.

But no.. if someone gets a bad buff because of bf, you should not rebuff them for free. you are using the same amount of applications as though you buffed two people. If you warn them in the beginning, then you are not at fault

I just had to respond here, because I would like to say that I do diagnose every single person before I buff them, however ignorance is no excuse for anything. I am constantly trying to learn more and more about this game, and I find that I learn a great deal every single day. Saying that it should not have to be the customers responsibility is just an easy out for the customer, a way to excuse their own lack of information and their own inability to pay attention to their character. If you're an american like me, then this is a r/l problem as well, if we keep letting the customer get away with "not knowing, or not understanding" then we get people who do things like sue fast food chains for spilling hot coffee on themselves, or because they and their kids got fat from eating fast food, or because smoking causes lung cancer. The answers to all of these things should be "sorry you're clumsy", "sorry you and your kids are gluttonous fat pigs", "read the fricking label retard"...and for the buff situation "hey man, check the boards, ask questions, read your players guide, but quit making excuses and grow up".

Sounds like there were two "noobs" in this situation. The buffee and the buffer. The buffee for not realizing that his BF does actually affects the final numbers on the buff he is getting, and then whining about not getting re-buffed. And the buffer for buffing more than one stat at a very noticably lower level and continuing to buff at said lower level, and then whining in the boards about the buffee whining.

Well, Marrow said it well already, and the post before this one added my other feeling that this doc isn't ready to have his training wheels removed yet since he plowed on with his low buffs even after the publish7 determinate buffing change.

However, I wish to add that docs with bad people skills and lousy attitude DO perform a valuable function in that they help set the stage for those times when you buff and help someone and they really appreciate you. Lets face it - if we all ruled in diplomacy as well as knowledge then it would be really tough to distinguish yourself. Thanks for making me look good buddy.. Love ya love ya, don't change a thing..

my question to you is why did you ignore the poor guy? If you would have replied and explained it to him, the situation might have been contained. the problem I find with most docs, it that most docs I have run into in the game have this superiority complex or a mightier than thou attitude?? I wonder why. Many times I have seen docs standing around an outpost and I politely send them a tell" hi there, are you buffing today?" everytime i ask this lately I just get ignored, no response?? are docs too good to respond to the average player now? do you guys actually think other players unworthy of your responses? and that is the problem I see with your issue. a simple explanation would have saved you the trouble you had.

I am currently working on master doc with an alt, lets see how it goes, so far its been fun, I have met lots of cool people. I have found no need to simply ignore people so far, but we'll see as I move up the ladder.

I am a master Doc, and I generally don't mind people asking me to buff them. If I am busy, I'll tell them I can't, but if I'm standing around, waiting for a shuttle or deciding where I should go, why not make a quick 9k. On the other hand, I never do buff lines, so I am not swamped all the time.

A recent post of 10 most annoying things said to a doctor listed, "Are you buffing?" Because if a doctor was buffing, they would advertise, or have a line. People like me mess that up though, because I have no interest in doing long lines, but i have no problem popping off some buffs - I keep my prices a little higher than many, which helps keep down the number off buffs I'm asked to do to a manageable level. I see where these other doctors are coming from though - if you are not a doctor or artisan, you wouldn't understand the amount of #$% these classes have to put up with. People seem to forget that there are players on the other end of the toons, because I am always amazed at the level of rudeness I had to put up with from perfect strangers. People think you are a buff bot, they pay, they get buffed. They don't want to wait, they want super buffs, and they want them yesterday - why aren't they buffed yet, how come another doctor buffed for 100 points higher yesterday, you're a #$%^*@# rip off; it never ends. Same thing happened to me when I was a tailor specializing in BIO-WARE. It got to the point where I cut and pasted some BE faqs into an Email message and told the person to read before ordering - after that, I made exactly what they ordered, and if it wasn't what they wanted, they could re-order and repay, because most customers thought if I made what they ordered, and it wasn't what they wanted, it was my fault, and I should replace for free and suck up the loss (I was not a BE, so I had to buy my components)

I guess the point is, if a doctor is ignoring someone, its probably not because they feel superior or smug, its because that the defense mechanism they use to deal with constant streams of demands, whines, and rudeness. Sometimes some legitimate questions might fall through the cracks, but as humanswe can only take so much before we shut down. I generally answer the first question- if it starts to look like a stream of questions, I direct them to the FAQ - if they annoy me, like "why cant you buff me right now", "Your buffs are too expensive" or whatever - i just /addignore - I get enough tells that I won't miss a few more.

Listen heres the main point (if you believe BF is common knowledge):

How many people reading this have recieved someone with mind wounds and BF and were asked to heal or called names because you wouldn't heal?

I've had it happen quite a few times, just my $.02

I still come across people that don't know BF effects heals andpeople that don't know that BF effects Buffs.

I've also had people ask me to heal thier mind. I've even seen people that don't know who buffs mind.

However, I think you might have been a little severe to a noob. The poster above says he now /diags all clients, not a bad idea in principle but a pain! I'd probably have re-buffed for free if I was convinced this was an honest case of new player not knowing how this worked.

While this would be better customer service, I would have an issue breaking up my very expensive matched buffs just to rebuff their one stat.

My suggestion is to buff: action, health, quick, str, stam, con

If action is only 1100 when it should be 2200, it's not that big of a deal (unless you're hunting mobs of carbineers/pikemen). Just stop the buff, educate them, and then continue it once they've been to the cantina.

I think your a fool if you buff ppl for 8k on dathomir

Charge the dubble next time. They can either accept - or buy a ticket and wait 9.45 sec to get to Cor - find a doc - get buffed, buy a ticket wait for 9.43 sec and then be back on dath. (soon only 4.45 mins wait though)

so if this guy would have been using a stim on himself would he have asked the person he boght it from for a refund as well? i have been a master for a while now (around 6 months) and i dont think that i would have refunded his money. for him it was a bit of a learning experience is all. yes he spent the money but he also got some buffs and could still go out and do missions and make money back easily. heck it is easy to make the money back when you think about it.

you do the mission, harvest the resources, and then when you are done for the day you have been paid for all of your missions and you have a stack of meat or whatever to sell. i know that i would often accept some trades for services if there was some good stuff out there. i mean herb meat and avian are hard to get a large amount of on your own. you could just offer to buff someone fully for 1k of a kind of meat that is currently availible. you make out well b/c you now have more meat to make more packs and they make out b/c they paid nothing for their buffs. hope this helps some
