Why is that? Because I am happy with the changes and pretty optimistic?

I see too many whiners on these boards

they should fix the armor hole instead of nerfing buffs

The conditions you give in that post are not attainable for prolly more than half of us, what's the point? Well I'm pretty sure that if we all had 950 buff packs and that all the people we are buffing never had any BF we would never buff below 1200 either /giggle

Um ya you are way too optimistic. heh they will push it live to really get feed back then fix it to show that they are listening to their customers. they never do enough testing.

I can forsee the posts after the change:

"It's not fair. That Doctor there is still hitting for higher amounts than me, and I'm still getting low buffs even though the randomness is gone? What's wrong?"

And I'll laugh, and point to my post again. The same rules apply now as they will after the patch. Like I said, the randomness isn't the problem, it's how you use your kits.

People will still continue to use their kits incorrectly, and whine that buffs are too low. Except next time they won't have the randomness to blame, only themselves.

For those docs who keep saying "Yeah the occasional 3700 buff is nice, but I hate hitting below 1k".

I have news for you, it's not the randomness that's causing bad buffs, it's how you are using your kits. There's a 100% guaranteed way to NEVER hit below 1200 buffs under the current system. Check it out here: http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=doctor&message.id=36392

It's a nerf, plain and simple. Why do you think the devs posted an "In Testing" thread for every other major (and some minor) changes for Publish 7, all except one for Doc buffs? They want to keep the majority of customers clueless about the change until it goes live. They realize it's a MAJOR nerf, that is going to affect not only doctors but the entire game. Why do you think they aren't letting us give them any feedback on it?

Let me tell you, I have base 927 packs, have 25% wound treatment clothing, and eat bivoli and every once in a while I will still roll a 950 or so.

Also, call this a nerf all you want. As one of the first master docs on Gorath and active PvP'er I can tell you this change is a GOOD thing and will help balance things out.

Well, it is not that they do not test enough. It is that not enough PLAYERS test, hence the reason each month a different server is now copied onto TC. This month it is Gorath and I do plan on testing a lot of these doctor changes

Some of the armor holes are intentional, ie. there is a slot for you to see out of hence eye shots often get through.

And again, this is not nerfing buffs. It is balancing them. I wish people saw the big picture more clearly

Yeah, so why saying it is a nerf if you are saying that nothing will change? I don't get it.

Actually, that's a flat out lie. The patient had at least 200 BF if that happened. A 927 kit, with a droid and just BE clothes will yield a LOW buff of 1147. With Bivoli Tempari, the low buff is 1274. Hitting for 950 under the conditions I listed is mathematically impossible.

You're obviously in support of the change because don't know how to use your kits to get the best buffs possible. Give me your kits, and I'll never hit below 1274. You just can't let people with 400 Battle Fatigue talk you into buffing them, thus hitting a 950 with your kits.

I totaly agree with this move. I think that the average is a good thing. I want to say that most of my packs at the moment are running around 850 right now. This will make for some decent stuff. I am using +25 bio-clothes and I will buy some of the food once I get time to play again. I would rather have all my buffs coming in at 2k (I know my numbers are off but for the sake of argument...) than to have some over 3k and some at just above 1k. The 1k ones bite hardcore in comparison especialy when you get a 1k action and a 3k health on the same person. It just looks bad. having them all the same would be nice though. If it is so hard to get good packs we will start to see more demand for large quantities of avian meat for factory runs and I am not opposed to that.

Good change. I might actually bother to drop the meditation line of TKA and finish Doctor now.

Because you use a formula that other people posted and apply it doesn't mean that you know better than the others. I'm pretty sure that most of us do know how to buff (I mean... it's part of our job). I have some news for you though, in most conditions you just can't afford to ask whoever you are buffing to go get rid of their BF first. Well unless you don't mind being rude of course.
