Thread: Why do people say buffs are the problem with pvp?

Erm first of all PvE hasn't been possible before the buffs? Sorry but that's not right you had to be more careful and you sure had to hunt in groups, buffs only made it possible for everyone to solo most of the PvE content and by that lvling much faster than before, if this is such a great development.. don't know guess everyone has to decide this for himself.
You're insofar right Jjix that the system never has been a perfect one and I absolutely agree that there have to be changes in general, but still the buffs increased the prob (and be honest the foodbuffs havn't been that great before the last chefpatch an finding some Master Musician/Dancer to buff your mind was always hard and unnerving plus you had to wait 10 mins till the buff actually worked on you). The most important influence was imo not only that you had now very high health/action bars, but especially that with em everyone could use composite armor and this even made it more difficult to get those important stats down for every Prof except Rifleman with their stunrifles (and headshot is one of their top shots) and the poison our dear colleagues from the Combat Medic profession throw (and sure due to the unhealable status of mind this was naturally the stat to use it on) cause suddenly everyone had to deal with enemies with 60-80% protection against their dmg (added to the general 75% reduction you get anyway).
So like I said before.. sure the buffs havn't been the sole reason for the status of PvP now, but you can't deny that it had an influence on it and imo not a small one.

Buffs ruin PvP because they take away the one restriction on wearing high resist armour and thats the encumb, top that with the fact they raise the regen rate so any damage taken is pretty much negated, and can be healed away by anyone with novice medic, and your left with combat classes attacking pools that really dont matter, hence all the cries of nerf combat medics and give rifleman a 3sec speed cap. Buffs alone aren't ruining PvP its a combination of things with buffs being the most obvious factor if you really paid attention.
