Master Doc/TKM

Probably the best PvE combination in game.

I swap my remaining skill points around between Artisan and Scout.

Master Doctor/Master Carbine

I've been a Master Doctor for quite some time and will never give it up.

I started this toon (2nd toon,2nd server) as a Medic and trained up the Doctor and Pistol trees at the same time. It was fun...and a buffedMaster Gunfighterhas lots of time for health bleed to take affect on mobs, (I used to solo Tusken Fort till the wee hours using that bleed) but i soon grew bored and as I was getting into PvP more and more Pistol had to go.

I've had another toon who was TKM and Master Rifle both so i opted to go for Carbine next. I did 2 holo proff's in between this time and gave up that grind on my 3rd holo. I don't think MDoc/Rifleman would be a good combo if you're planning on healing others as you go...way too much mind HAM cost.

I am now Master Doctor/Master Carbineer (for about 6 weeks now) I would have probably moved on to another MDoc/Combo but have been waiting for the new release fixes to Carbineer. I've been working away from home this week but i've read that the fixes to Carbine were exceptional.

If so then I'll probably stay MDoc/Carbine for a while now and further explore the GCW. The 2 major bonuses of following MDoc/Combat are these: You get to go Perma Buffed so can Migrate Mind Ham to Max, and secondly you will always have the points left for scout 0010 for creature harvesting.

If you've made your peace with all the myriad glitches and setbacks associated with SWG as I have...you'll find that you can have a great amount of fun with any MDoc/Combo. So my advice is this.....

Try them all.

yes ... it just takes a very long time .... and usually i drain my mind in the process - always have to rest after a fight with a rockshaper to get mind back ....

Wow, overwhelmingly, the choice of most doctors appears to be TKA.... by a longshot.

I am really enjoying reading what people based their decisions on. I personally started this string to figure out a couple of things: 1- Do most doctors compliment their medicine skills with a combat skill, or a non-combat skill? And 2- For combat support classes, what is the most popular?

I have done both Pistoleer and Fencer but never to the point of master. I thought I would find mostly pistoleer combat types responding to this thread. I enjoy fencing a lot, however, I can't see it being very strong in PvP (not that I do that sort of thing a lot). Pistoleer seems the logical choice but it really seems a bit underdeveloped to me.

-Khaotic7, do you find yourself in a lot of PvP? Or mostly PvE? As a master pistoleer, do you have any regrets about the profession?

-Some of the people who have responded that take on two large careers (non combat oriented) also surprise me. I think it's great and you're probably doing a lot better financially than I am.

I love Doc, it's tough at times, and I'm 'guildless' (although I have been invited to a few, so it's not because I smelll like salmon) so that means I'm left to my own devices for supplying buffs for me and my friends. So I guess right now it feels like a labour of love, I just wish I personally could figure out which way to go on a combat level.

Thanks for all the great, great, feedback. Hopefully there's more to come. At any rate, I've learned a few things from your insight.

Pikeman or swordsman. Go for the damage. TKA is redundant sincemeditation is completely wasted because of your doc skills. For everyone who thinks TKA is overpowered head to Yavin IV without maskscent and just start running around. Once you get zerged by 10 - 1511K HAM angler's, kilniks and crystal snakes and all you have is a cruddy AOE attack and one damage type come back and tell me how "overpowered" TKA is. (if you survive the mind drain that is)

I prefer pikeman myself. More unique since you see 50 thousand people meditating everywhere you go nowadays.

To get 10-15 creatures on you at once you would have to run through several lairs before you stopped to fight. That proves nothing. Pikets have 30-40% kinetic resist yet I have no troubles chain killing them. I can even take on 5 at a time without any trouble. My ham barely even drops.

I'm also doing janta missions and I can kill 2 camps of them in less time than it takes me to find 2 missions in the same direction. I've done the janta cave and had 5 of them at a time on me. As for that 'cruddy ae attack', that's what I usually use for the janta camps. I get 5 at a time on me and drop them all no trouble with the ae.

I've alsokilled nightsisters with 30k ham that used force choke.

I also do all this without using armor.

When I was just a TK novice I could do just as much damage and just as fast as my master pistoleer could. So yes, I do think that TK's are over powered.
