Thread: Disgusted with the current prices on Eclipse Avian
Have those of you who think paying 200cpu for avian is stupid actually added up the cost of making a pack? Even with 200cpu avian and herb meat you should be able to make a pack for 10k - 15k. On Kettemoor a set of crates of 5 900 packs sells easily for 2,500,000. Let's see, that's 83,333 per pack, or 68k - 73k profit per pack, and the doc didn't have to spend time harvesting the meat. In case your server doesn't have such a vibrant buff market you can camp at the starport and sell buffs at 6k per set and you'd still take in at least 25k on a pack, profit of 10k - 15k selling super cheap buffs using the highest quality avian.
AnnnThrax wrote:"Our greed on the Eclipse server and the fact that a lot of people are SERIOUSLY charging outrageous prices will eventually drive up prices on everything. We are driving the inflation each time we go crazy and decide somethign is SO important to have RIGHT now that we will pay ANYTHING to have it."
How about discussing the prices for Bivoli, anything above +20? Average price for +20 or higher in a crate of 25, with 2 uses per is 250,000 credits! That's 50 uses for 250k, or to put it in perspective, it's going for 2,500 per unit! So chunk on an additional 5,000 credits per two sets of buffs (figuring you can buff two people for the duration of one bivoli) docs are going to start chraging for their buffs. And with the new buff change/nerf (however you view it) Bivoli has become almost critical to have. I'm sorry, but the price of food/drinks is more insane than the price of avian meat...
Actually the price for food and drinks are not insane...first off let me tell you I have a Master Doctor / TKM and I buy my resources just like the next guy.
I also have a wife who is a Master Chef and a friend who is a master BE.
For bovoli it takes a Heavy Food Addtiive in the food to hit +25.....that 75 meat per food item if you want to make the good additives...and if you want to cheapskate it and only use the meat specific part in meat (ive yet to find a good filler that fell in the generif flora food slot that had as good of stats as the good meat to make the best additive possible.) your talking 20 meat per additive. On scylla server when there is a good shift of meat (+900-800 on flavor, overallquality, and pe)the sale prices varry from 100-200cpu depending on the demand...so ur effectivly talking about a 2k per bivoli cost to make not even taking into account that that meat only makes up 10% of the overall resources....and the fact that your talking two additinal factory combines......
A fair price for bivoli is anywhere between 125k-250k depending on the resources in meat available.
Interesting thread, I myself have pretty much cornered the market on buff pacs on Valcyn, others seem to try and sell them but they are just no where the quality of mine, I started playing this game just about the time it was released and through allot of trial and error because I was to embarrased to ask anyone I figure out the best methods to craft good pacs.
Obviously if your buying meat for your personal use, 200cpu is insane, I don't think to many people get rich off selling buffs but they can make some good money doing it. I have never paid over 100cpu and recently I offered hunters 1-million for 14k of avian on the last good shift, I got over 180k of good avian from it, not only do I offer deals like that, but I tell my customers I will discount a set of crates if they provide their own avian or herbivore or both. This seems to be the best method for running a business, I also believe it's just the saying you have to have money to make money, then you have to make smart purchases. I started my business with the sale of my best crates of 50 buffs in each stat I ever made for 2-Million, I have been thriving ever since that sale. I probably make 200 enhance pacs a week in each stat and still have people lining up for more, you would not believe the buisiness I do. I generally have been charging 15k per pac and no discounts for crates.
On another note, if you can manage to find yourself some good miners willing to sell you resources for 3-5 cpu and you stock up enough, you can afford to pay 100cpu for certain items. I figure my pacs cost me roughly 8k to make paying top dollar on everything, when I don't pay top dollar and harvest myself I only make more money.
I also find myself making friends with people and getting people to sell to me that are loyal to me just for treating them with kindness and knowing someone else is offering more they still sell to me, that's just good buisiness on both parties parts.
Also, for the people hunting on naboo saying only nuna's and kaduu's drop avian, man go for Giant Peko Peko's!! Or the grand daddy Albatross!!!! I love to get avian on naboo or Lok, and when the meat is in good shift on those planets hoard it!! You also wont have to pay as much if it's easier to harvest and get allot of, thats how I got 180k of the last good shift on Lok, that meat alone will last me 2 months or more, yeah I spent about 10 million on it, but I am set for awhile!!![]()
LOL, to answer is 200cpu allot for that meat? yes it is, but some people are willing to pay it, hopefully they don't mind going broke buying it either, I believe there is a point where people will not pay a certain amount for buffs or resources, when that happens the prices will come back down.
Aynsun wrote:The thing what happened on eclipse some Doc was most propably worrying about not getting enough meat. So someone putted 175cpu to ensure getting it. Then lots of other docs made same contract and then "panic" reaction and offered 200cpu and we all followed. Here we have 200cpu contract. Now avian meat price might be "ruined" forever on eclipse. After 3 days all docs who posted had their meats and now not so many are buying. At the moment I feel a bit stupid
Should have just putted something like 200-300k contract paying 125cpu and propably would get it as not so many are buying it at for 200cpu anymore. Sigh...
Money problems in Eclipse on other servers isn't anymore coming from duping. System generates so much credits everyday that couple dupers doesnt make that much difference anymore.
I don't agree that prices are ruined forever. It is a free market and the market will correct itself eventually. Most of those novice scouts running around with a 20k stack of kaadu meat thinking they are sitting on a fortune will soon learn that they can't find a doctor that is buying. You can already see them spamming shouts in coronet trying to unload the stuff. And the prices will start dropping...
of course 2 months down the road the supply will start drying up, then it really will be worth 200+ cpu.
