Thread: Ok, the new formula, ROUGHLY, to the new buffs on TC

Quality does play a role though.

With all advance components and Dantooine (TC) avian meat [190 something OQ 380 something PE aaaahhahahahahaaa] I was coming out with 260 something packs (and a lot of experimental points left).

Switching to naboo avian (or using action D's and better resources) I could make a decent pack peopel might want a buff from .

This change has the added benefit of making C packs useful (if you have good stuff to make them from)... maybe even B packs (for casual adventuring and travel, inexpensive buffs).

As are still.. .well As... not much you can do about any kind of A med really.

Remember though, this change does not change your expense while making pacss, please charge accordingly. people who used to giverefunds for buffs below certain numbers may want to rethink that policy.

i think that "base * 2"-part of your formula is quite misleading.

the following formula seems to be correct and easy to understand:

base rating * medical rating * (1 + (Treatment Skill/100))

where base rating is the value of the enhance pack, medical rating is the rating of your droid/camp/house and Treatment Skill is your effective Wound Treatment skill (remember that it is 100 for master doc without food and BE-Clothing)

it seems to fit all the reported test values in this thread

basically i dream of a game system that does not need to help NPCs by giving them ungodly amounts hitpoints, resistances and damage, where there is no need for special damage reductions in PvP...

The clearest way to write is is:

Add up all your percentages.
droid +10
master doc +100
be clothes +25
bivioli (lets say +11)

total + = 146

850 pack

850 (base) + [850 x 1.46]

850 + [1275] = 2125

850 (base) + [850 x 1.46]

850 + [1275] = 2125

850 * 1.46 = 1241 not 1275.

I think BigAke has the correct equation because his takes into account the wound treatment bonus we get from going up the wound treatment line. That means that non master docs won't be buffing as much as master docs, which makes sense. (The original equation didn't account for this.)

"Base buff pack 535"

So are you saying that the new packs have a low charge?

No, he's on TC where resources are scarce is all.

I REALLY like this change. It would be nice if the buffs were a bit higher, but they're not so low I can't live with them.

Ok reading through all this the correct formula has been mentioned a few times.

Read what wound treatment skill says when you mouse over it in the skill listing.

This skill mod provides a direct bonus to the amount of wounds you can heal at once, A bonues of 50 would equal 50% MORE (key word) wounds healed per treatment. This also changes the effects of enhancement mediation.

So a 100 medical rating at master doc means the "random roll" on wound heals is doubled to get your final wounds healed, for enhances their is no longer a random component, so you geta bonus of 100% at master doc, a master doc with a 100 medical rating droid (100% effectiveness) would give you double the buff pack value, 110 medical rating droid gives a 10% bonus, he is 110% rated. So the final equation is pretty simple:

(Base + Base*(Medical Rating/100)) * (Droid rating/100).

This matches exactly the values listed above.

So it's ALWAYS best to have your droid out when buffing now (and charged, good test for charge on a droid is to issue the follow command and see if he responds with low power).

In the end every *point* of buff power on the actual buff would be yielding 2.475 of buff to the stat assuming master doc in +25 BE clothing and a 110 rated droid.

Does anyone know the bonus (if any) for buffing in factional facilities or in player med centers (if any) Hmmm maybe camps will do something now too (they have a value, or at least used to)

*edited to make the formula stand out better*

Camp ratings are usually lower then 100, so the droid is always better.

Factional bases, when you are registered there is also 110, but you get that isntead (not on top of the 110 from droids).

Player med centers are rated at 100 as well.

Doh. ... I won't edit it, because it would confuse everyone why you replied.

In any case it is base pack + all of your bonuses.

the 2* makes it confusing. If you don't set up the parenthesis correctly in the long equation, the wrong stuff ges multiplied.

i dont know if i beleive that or not....

this means that i should get a good buff...

pack = 905

then i would have

905 x 2 x (*189/100) x (110/100) = B

*this is bevoli and my be clothes

so

1810 x 1.89 x 1.1 = B

B = 3750 ???????

if this is right ill be rather happy

Sorry. Clothes are capped to 25. So it's 125+(Bivoli).
