Thread: Doctors please start charging more!
At 6k I agree buffs (or at least D level buffs) are under valued.
At 6k, you get novice marksmen getting buffed to group hunt sharnaffs, & nagging the docs for the buffs to do it with.
At 10k, they have to at least stop & think about whether they really want or need buffing that badly.
I used to charge 6k, went up to 10k to try to put off telling customers, then in my first public buffing session for about 4 months charged 8k as a compromise. Three hours later, I noticed another master doc charging 10k 50 yards away, & just asbusy as I was. So, I'm now going to charge 10k flat rate for even public buffing (don't like doing the sums on a 1 credit per point basis). 6k to guildmates tho.
Buff packs around the 750 mark, just gone up to 800 plus thx to good P4, at long last.
Iam.
I charge 20k.
Its not worth my time otherwise.
And in 3 hours if you cant match and beat 20,000 credits, your non to bright.
recently on eclipse I saw rates increase, it was 6k before, all docs, now some are charging 7k, 8k, 10k, I never seen more than 10k tho, "justified" with "uber" packs, bio clothing and all the stuff...
I use bio clothing and good +110 droid, but couldn't charge more than 8k, I think it's correct. I also refund 1k for each buff under 1.3k, so if you get unlucky and all stats under 1.3k (never happened so far) you'll pay 2k cause it's still a buff. I don't refund if the guy has over 100bf tho.
my current packs are 870+ and I usually do cool buffs, some sets are pretty cool with 3 or 4 stats over 3k, then I may get an extra tip.
eclipse people are well educated about buffs and randomness, that's quite cool and enjoyable.
It's cuz of the damn resource tycoons out there raising their cpus to the point where we have to raise our buff prices.

I'd charge 10k for buffs, but every time I go to Theed there's always at least one other Doctor charging only 6k for buffs, so I charge the same. Who the hell in their right mind would want to pay 4k more for a buff when they could get the same randomness asscrap buffs from someone else for cheaper? I can't wait til Publish 7, when not only with the randomness be fixed, but the half-buffed-for-45-minutes thing will be fixed too. Three of my buffs have 9000 second durations, and the other three are 12k seconds.

Why did you lower your prices? I was on Dantooine selling buffs last night and there was another Master Doctor selling buffs for 8K. However, I was still selling for 10K, and we both had lines. Every now and then I get the "You're crazy" comment on my prices. I don't see myself as in competition with other Master Doctors. If someone didn't like my price, they can wait in the longer line.

the fact is that most players out there can't survive without buffs... and the fellow who said that "if they can't match the price within 2 hours they are none too bright" is RIGHT ON THE MARK
these combat-types have plenty of money, and with the resource mafia charging outrageous prices for meats, we have PLENTY OF LICENCE to charge through the roof...
as for "buffing in town" Starting vs. Advanced planets make a (forgive the pun) WORLD of difference... just being on an advanced planet makes a buff a more "in-damand" commodity...
Economics 101... supply and demand... isn't that what the resource mafia says to us?? I'm for charging 50k/set... and even still, you could make that 50k back in an hour if you know how to play...

Dont be like the Master weaponsmiths there is no need to charge 10k for a buff in town it is greedy and players know it.
5-6k in town is a fair amount no matter what the quality or duration dont be an @ss think of the non master combat customer for a change.
When one mission pays you 1400cr it makes a new players medical expenses to high.
Unlike you seem to be able to do, most players managed to level up without being buffed all the time.

High level buffs aren't made for new players, there are lower level buffs too. Even with 3hr 2K+ buffs a new character can earn back 10K in no time. With just 0-0-2-0 in Pistoleer I ran 2 11K missions on Endor in less than 30 minutes. However, when I charge 10K for my buffs, you're not paying me for just the buffs, you're paying me for the missions I'm not running while buffing you. This is because buffing is not as much fun as misisons.
