Thread: Doctors sucks... Do you?
I spend at least half my time as a Doc just traveling for resource surveying, harvester moving & maint, etc. If I am in town and someone needs a heal, I ask their faction status and then heal if they are neither Overt nor TEF'd. If I am asked politely for a rez, I ask for a WP and see if I am in the area. Do I feel obligated to do this? No. But I also have no reservations about saying no if I have other commitments at hand.
Just depends on where we are in our game day and how we are approached. But even if the answer is no it doesn't mean we are rude/evil/whatever--we have limits to our time as much as anyone else.

im not a doc, or medic for that matter,im a Master Artisan/slicer and i can understad the doc`s for not bothering to rez you, or heal you for that matter. Its my understanding that this game is supposed to have a "player based echonomy",and for that to work we all must pay for services recived.Personnally i make it a point to tip docs at least 2 -3 k pr rez, dont know if thatsworth anything, but it more of a gesture.
How would you feel, whatever you do in real life or in the game for that matter, if people constantlyMessaged you expecting your services at any time. My bet is that you would be pretty pissed after a while.
While I don't carry woundpacks, I do carry crates of components, so I can make stuff as I need it.
I actually get treated better by people seeking wound healing, then I do by people wanting buffs.
I've been seeing politeness going up for live entertainers (as one of my alts) as well now that they have become scarce.
People appreciate what they are missing a bit more when they can't get it.
With no medics in most towns, and rampant tumble-healing in the few that do, a real healing doc is worth gold to the people that don't want novice medic.
As an experiment, I'm leveling a second live doc without grinding, or buffing. He's not doing too badly, though he's not a master yet. If Wound B's weren't at novice medic, I'd be making a fortune. He has not set foot in a major city either (coronet, theed, bestine, etc.)

You were teffed or overt...
the doc does not like (i don't) gaining a tef and getting killed for healing or rezing..)

so what if i'm a doc .. nothing forces me to come rez you ... get over it.
#3
learn how the game works .. you were killed in pvp .. you suffer 0 decay as long as your stuff is insured.
#4
he/she has paying customers waiting on him/her for buffs.. just because you are dead does not mean she has to drop everything for you. The galaxy does not revolve arround you .. wake up!
Honestly its ppl like this that cause me to turn off my doc tag as soon as i log in, and make sure my character is not serchable.
Bad enough docs don't have any true pvp punch offencively .. but we have morons like this bitching even more.
I don't know where this assumption that we exist simply to service other players comes from, I got the same attitude in EQ when I was a cleric, getting a "hey Cleric boy, I need a heal over here" from players who couldn't be bothered to wait for their health to regenerate itself.
I will generally help other players if I'm in a position to, but don't take me for granted, I'm in the game to enjoy myself as well, and following you around just to fix you because you keep getting killed isn't my idea of fun.
When we get a mission terminal, we will stop buffing for money. When we get regular mission terminals that recognize our master status and have mission payouts that scale accordingly, we will stop buffing for money.
Long ago - people stopped tipping for healing. Even longer ago, people stopped giving us a thank you for healing. We are not here for you, and definitely not here for free. Next time, try tipping in advance, or saying thanks to that doctor that randomly heals you in the Starport.
As far as the automated response: Get a master crafting profession, fly your tag, and see how many /tells you get per minute. Try dealing with that all while dealing with a line (since we can't put buffs on vendors like all other crafted master items [guns, armor, etc])
Most master doctors have stopped flying their tags, and only buff friends and guild members. Examine your actions towards your local healers, and the actions of those around you, and ask again why we "don't do our job".
I sympathize for your situation, but until the time comes when people message me "ffs could you buff me and my friend, for 5k each cause i got no money, and hurry cause the shuttle is here" I will not change my attitude.
