Isn't that the truth! I was in Coronet the other day buffing a few of my friends when this BH came up to me and asked if I was buffing. Of course, I said yes and she asked the price. I tell her 7k for all stats, she says fine and asked if I used enhance E packs. I informed her that there is no such thing, only D packs and that I used those. She then rejected my buffs because she only wanted E packs and then proceeded to shout in the city that she was looking for a Master Doc who uses only E packs.

I don't understand why some of you do the 1000 and under buff tip back money thing. It doesn't make sense to me. I charge a flat rate of 10k for a set and that's it. Most people pay it without questioning and if they do question the price I simply tell them that the price is 10k or no buffs. Get this most of the time those people will come back and pay it too. I remember one day I sat in Coronet for 1 hour buffing people when the guy next to me was doing some moneyback buff jargon and I made over 400k credits.

Wow, reading all theseI noticed something - Radiant docs are alot cheaper, lol. In Radiant, I've never seen a doc charge more than 6k - interesting.

Anyway - yeah, I can see how that'd be annoying. I just got Master Doctor yesterday and buffed today, buffed about 40 people and didn't have one bad apple, guess I was lucky. Everyone seemed to know everything was random and it wasn't my fault. *shrug*

I have been a M. Doc for a long time. On the odd chance that I put up my M. Doc tag and someone asks for a buff I say yes. If they ask 'how much" I say what every you think the buff is worth. Most people love this style. I have good buffs and most people tip will above the norm (6k on Flurry).

I respect the other methods (money up front, tip/no-tip back for low buffs) but to be honest it is just too much of a pain.

I let folks pay for that they think they are worth. Sure you get a newbie or a jerk every now and a gain but you will get those folks no matter what you do. By letting by what they want you will find that your upper end on your price goes way up which pulls your average buff price way up. Most folks that ask for buffs are repeat buffers and know they game well and like to tip well because they think it will make them a Jedi faster. So I let them. I often get 20-50k (and know I do not have uber buffs).

Lets face it, you can make better money per hour doing missions when you think about the time it takes to gather resouces and craft.

I buff folks for money when I'm killing time for the shuttle or waiting on friends. So my method my not be the greatest for those that wish to make buffing a profession.

10k?

I charge 1 credit per unit enhanced for the most part. This means if someone gets 3k buffs on all stats it can be 18k credits. Likewise, if they get crappy buffs they pay less. You should pay for good service. And I still get tells from other planets.

Ahh, I still don't know why docs all sell their wares so cheap.

They need us quite a bit more than we need them, after all. I could see charging 6 or 8k a set if I had just made master doc, bought some cheap packs from someone, and wanted to make some fast money in coronet. Maybe...

When I sold buffs regularly, I always charged 12k/set. I used a macro that included my pack stats, buff variance, and duration, as well as a note about how the packs I was using were as good as packs got. I used to wind up with 10 or 15 people in line every time I walked through coronet without pulling down my title...

Once I switched over to 900+ power packs a couple of months ago (from 884 power), I started charging 15k. Why not? I have enough demands on my time in-game already, if people want me to take the time to pull out my droid and buff them, they can pay me enough to make it worth my while. Plus, most people are savvy enough now to realize that there can be quite a bit of difference between one doc's buffs and another's.

These days, now that we have bivoli to stack with our BE'd clothing (and the going rate for bivoli on my server seems to be 5k/charge), it isn't uncommon for me to hit 4 buffs over 3k in a set...

When I switch to my newest batch of packs, at 926 power (and 3 hour 40 minute duration roughly), I'll probably change my macro to mention that I'm using +70 worth of BE clothing and whatever bonus I'm getting from bivoli, and up my price to 20 or 25k. The people that I'm interested in buffing (i.e. serious pvpers) will still be happy to pay it, because they know they're getting the best buffs they possibly can.

These will be the same people that buy crates of stim Es from me for 185 or 190k because they care about the extra 100 or 150power and 5 or 10 charges that I get relative to those who sell them for 100k/crate.

And really, all the people that want to pay 6k for a set of buffs so that they can go powerlevel at the tusken fort or kill rancors or what have you would be equally well served by a set of well-made C buffs. Heck, I did a great business when I was still working my way up the doc tree selling health/action Cs and secondary Bs for like 4 or 5k a set.

Although there will probably always be people at the coronet starport sellingbuffs for 6k/set, just as there will probably alwaysbe people selling stims for 500 credits a pack (grinding resources sell for that much, you realize), the market for doctor products is large enough and diverse enough to support those of us who actually want to turn a profit on our time as well.

(in case you haven't worked it out, try doing a profit/time analysis of selling buffs for 6k a set. as far as I can tell, it is the single least profitable activity one could engage in, of all the different ways in this game to make money)

Congrats,

I charge 6k for all 6 as well.

One thing I have noticed is that even in the last couple weeks customers have gotten alot better, maybe it's just Radiant, who knows.

But who ever got people standing in a physical line, not to spam with tells, and 6k as kind of the standard fee...THANK YOU !

This makes my life while buffing in Coronet, so much easier.

I stopped buffing because of these people ... instead I stole an idea from one of the threads .. (this is mine not hers ...)

" I'm not buffing, but if you insist I will. I don't need cash and will not take payment in return. The only thing I'm looking for is Avian Meat and Herbivore meat. If you have 500 Nabooian Avian or 1000 Endorian Herbivore meat I'll buff you otherwise it's not worth the hassle for me to do so.

If you don't have either - please go find another doc. Thank You."

It's a little harsh, but my last afk message was MUCH worse - I wasn't the first on my server but one of the first to start charging 10k for buffs and when most people are still charging 6k you can get an earful which leads to you having a chip on yr shoulder ... not buffing for a while now, i can relax tho

I try to keep track of who pays me while I'm buffing, but when you have 5-10 people sitting in a circle around you, geez, it gets rough. I think I'm going to tell people to bank tip me, and take off the 5% they lose to the bank from my price. Makes it SO much easier when you have a list in your email.

I usually park myself in Coronet in front of the starport and charge 10K, but I tip back if the buffs are low or if it's a person I know. I even have a "fellow fencer's" special, 5K for the buff, but I don't let anyone know.....ah, geez..... So much for Secrecy. I use 774 power packs, a little over 3 hours duration, and I've never had someone complain. Hell, I'm even polite enough to ask what other docs in the area are charging, and try to set us all up at 10K, so nobody gets left out.

Frankly, the only time I had someone get nasty with me was another doctor who felt the need to tell me I was ripping someone off for charging 10K.

so he grumbles and tips me 8k, i buff him..
buffs are all 2900-3400 (no joke, actualy landed some nice ones on this guy) and one buff
was 1297.

me: see now that wasnt so bad was it?
him: theyre ok, not worth 8k though

the next guy in line laughed and said "everyones a critic"

If he would have pushed a little harder for a lower price on the buffs, my price would have doubled on the spot for him.

Before I quit buffing for money completely, I was charging 12k on Radiant.

Finally, even that wasn't worth the hassle.
