Been playing for 8 months.. my first holo said wepsmith...(still never even got close to master it...)
I like doc, I just dont want to spend the next month mastering it and be so bored of doc I drop it for something else... at least this way by the time I do get bored with doc(lets face it not alot of content in SWG... the most interesting thing to do is try different profs...) I will have already been a master for sometime...

yeah, but that would mean I have time to concentrate and play in a group for two hours...
I work fulltime, got a wife, 3 kids, 2 dogs 2 cats and a bro-in-law that live with me... not to mention my mother, brother(and his family) my 2 uncles and thier families, my grandmother and RL friend all live in SanAntonio... 2hours of straight gameplay at one time? only happens two nights a week... when everyone is asleep... even then... dogs want to go out in the middle of the night, the three yr old has to go potty or the baby wakes up pissed off about somethin... cats gettin into **edit** all the time... Any wonder why I cancelled my celphone and land line and have everyone use my Wife's cel...
I have mastered 7 Prof.s already... I know people that have played for about 3 months that have mastered 17... I am not going to feel bad at all for using tumbers to master doc... See my point? I am the definition of a forced casual player... I dont have alotof socializing time ingame so I dont make alot of friends... Grouping with people that dont understand the mechanics of the game is just the most frustrating thing in the world... So I group with the people that know how to play and use tumblers...
Dude in one paragraph you complain about not having time to play and in the next you say you've mastered 7 profs. You also say you group with people who know what they are doing so you DO group.
I've also got a full time job a wife a 2 year old and a 3 week old (with borderline colic). I'm lucky to get45 minutes ofstraightgame timeand I haven't mastered as many professions as you have. I'm going /afk every few minutes to attend to my wife and the (oh so cute) baby. Hey here's a newsflash for you as well. The game was designed for people like you and me pal. SWG is touted as casual gamer friendly. Read the forums. The people who are bored to tears are the people playing 15 hours a day.
Oh and I'll be a master doc tonight and I haven't healed a tumbler once. Just give buffs to people and heal wounds man. Help yourself by helping them.
I get so much xp per night it isn't even funny. Last night I got around 60K medical xp in about 30 minutes of work. All I do is go up to an unbuffed person and say "hey I'm a doc who needs xp can I give you a free buff" BOOM instant xp. I'm 40K away from master and I can get that in 10 minutes hanging around coronet giving away buffs (and yes I always ask)
I maintain my own harvesters, collect my own resources (spent an hour one night running kaddu missions for avain meat while burping the baby) and sell stims on the side for a nice profit.
I still manage to get great xp and I've met some really cool people by socializing (Lemack on Intrepid is the man). I also get to help someone because they get a pretty good buff for free (you would be amazed at what a3-4-4-4 doc with some BE clothes and some pretty good home grown enhance paks can do)
Not flaming you man I'm just letting you know it can be done by legit means with limited time.
If you are wondering about my high post count with limited time. Well I spent a good chuck of time asa BH defending the profession during the eyeshot forum troll wars BEFORE the baby was born

I master Doctor in 3 night healing people's wounds. Its not that hard, any person using a tumble monkey is just selling yourself and all the other Doctors short. Because when your really needed, you aren't gonna have any idea what to do first. Playing a doctor isn't any normal profession, it actually takes brain power. You are souly responsible for 10-20 people in a group, and its your responsiblity to heal the person that needs it first. With out actually playing the profession you are totally blind at how to play it, and in the end unless you're a buff bot, your gonna piss a lot of people off.
This thread is getting longish and the posts are getting longer so I'll be surprised if many read this, but here goes.
The doctor's who have 'played' through the experience,role-playing a doctor and doing it all at the keyboard in context, DO NOT own this class. It does not give you the right to criticize how others play. The afk doctors DO NOT bring a bad name to the doctor proffession, they DO bring a bad name to themselves. Ninja buffing a tumbler is harrassment and it makes you a worse doctor than they will ever be because of it.
I wanted to get the most of my game time because life it busy. So I bought a second account and grinded to master doctor in no time. I'm not a doctor by any means. I'm a buff bot. Any body can see that from a distance, i'm the only master doctor i see wearing newbie clothes. I never crafted state packs or rez kits. I don't have stims on me. I don't interact with the community, yet they all spam me with buff/rez requests.
If you want to play a doc, play a doc, play the best doc you can. But why harrass and talk down to grinders and buff bots? It's certainly not going to change anything. As evidenced by the length of this debate.
The question has to be asked.
Why in the world are you paying extra real life cash to save your self a few thousand credits per play session?
Just BUY a buff from a doc man. . . it's that simple.
You can spend your money and your time anyway you want but doesn't it just seem more simple to just buy buffs from other docs like everyone else?

I have 2 accounts, but not to cheat and master in my sleep. I play one or the other, depending on how I feel, or I play both at the same time, and switch back and forth. I pay for 2 accounts so that I can play more then 2 or 3 professions. This is a great game, and I want to experience it for what it is. There is no way my doctor could ever experience that as a support profession. Thats why I pay for 2 accounts.
Oh and btw, if buffing a tumble monkey makes me a bad doctor...I would love to hear what you have to say about those people that trash your profession by sleeping to master. If your stupid enough to camp a hospital or medcenter to use your little pet monkey, then you are just asking to get screwed with, and I will gladly go out of my way to "Grief" you. I don't care who you are. If it stops you for 4 hours, then I'm happy.

I see the tumbling thing a lot in the med centers. I personally don't have a problem with it, as long as it isn't out of hand. I (Novice Doc 2/2/3/4) stand back and let the inspiring medics heal the tumblers as I fix people coming in for actual wound healings. Let's face it... combat professions don't like to sit in the med center while some meager medic has to apply 8 health wound packs over the course of 10 minutes just to heal them. Let the lower abilities medics heal the tumblers while I take care of the more *serious* things and collect all the AP when these medics need training!

I agree, I hate the whole tumbler-leveling thing. Cripes, whatever happened to being a doc in order to actually heal people who need it. It's just a shame when the only medics and docs around are AFK macro healing AFK macro tumblers. Bah.
First you need people that actually need healing. When I was climbing up doctor these were rare. I had times I could sit in a hospital for half an hour without a single person coming in to be healed. Then when one person does come in with 75 damage, 5 medics jump on him for the exp and no one gets very much.
I remember in the good ol' days...well, you all know the story. I can't wait until the holo-grinding thing is gone for good and NO ONE will want to be a doctor unless they want to heal other people. (Well, or buff themselves, but that's a smaller population.)
The 'good ol days' were before player cities when everyone was concentrated in the regular cities and there were always lots of injured people heading to the hospital to be healed.
I tumbled my way to master doc and all the while ignored everybody in the med center who needed real healing. Too bad. I'm not playing this game to be your servant and I don't owe you anything. And no, the 1000 credit tip that I'd be lucky to get isn't worth my time to look at you let alone heal you. Can't find somebody to heal your wounds take up medic and do it yourself or sit and wait while the med center auto heals them.

Nah I'm just kidding. I hate tumblers more than anything. You know grinding has gotten out of hand when you co to Coronet and all the docs are in the cantina healing /AFK macro junkie losers or are in the med center only healing some idiot tumbler. Tumble to standing should get nerfed so that it can only be performed while in combat. This is why. I have some pretty bad wounds all around. I go into the med center in Coronet and there are 5 docs that refuse to heal me because they are healing people that are tumbling for creds and thay want the easy xp. So now I'm forced to sit in the busiest med center in the galaxy surrounded by docs and medics and have to sit it out till I heal naturally. Talk about ruining a profession.
