The radial menu options "use on self" and "use on target" as well as double-clicking on the blanket do not work. You must use the command /ext or hot-key the command.

I tested this on myself and others, grouped and not grouped and it works.

i used "/ext self" and it worked every time. my husband's BH char was more than happy to help me test the new blankets lol. i use it, i get a 'the flames around you subside' i think was the message, same as when you find water.

my chef/dancer char has some tailor, so as soon as i heard what resources the blankets would require, i made some crates of synth cloth. and, i got very lucky, while checking her chef harvs as my doctor self (who has no artisan). one harv was on rori collecting berries. the berries had shifted /tantrum but fungus was right there at 62% /cheer. so, i changed to that resource, waited for it to get a few, and the stats weren't terrible. so, before the patch got here, i was ready with the fungus and the cloth.

Just an FYI...

I am getting 46 uses per blanket with an effectiveness of about 500 on each use. I tested the blankets about 50 times last night each with the same result. Much like cure poison and disease, if the effectiveness is high enough it will extinguish the patients fire with the use of only one charge from the blanket. It costs approximately 200 mind points to extinguish fire. Also, you will need to move the /extinguishfire macro from your macro pad (found under the other macros tab) to your toolbar in order to use any fire blankets that are in your inventory.

so if the eff is low enough it will only partially heal the flame?

anyone on my question?

can you actually partially heal the flame like poison if you have a low eff, or does it get healed no matter what

I have yet to have one not put the fire out. However the fires will go out by themselves. Didn't the patch notes indicate that fires wound't go out unless you get in static water or use a fire blanket?
