Everyone's too polite to rip into your subject line but somebody has to say it: it's not called an "enchantments packet". Enchantment (magical change) is a fantasy game thing. Enhancement (improvement) refers to a medicalability in a sci-fi game. An enhancement pack (not packet)comes from science, not elves and wizards.

You are absolutely right! My god, talk about screwy typos. I am aware of the differences, I must have been on crack that day! Thanks for pointing it out though, made me laugh.

I want to thank everyone for taking the time write such long and interesting posts in reply inspite of the topic spelling.I have learnt a lot!

See you around guys!

Hey guys,

I have put them into different categories for an easier overview.

Resources
I know that it requires lots of resources to do the buffs. So lets see whichones.

1) Which resources can I NOT get as Doc/TKA myself? I don't have any artisanskills.

If you do not have Scout, you cannot gather avian meat and herbivore meat. You will have to hire someone to hunt those for you. You will also need to hire an artisan to survey for you and give you waypoints to the various other resources you can harvest.

2) Where is good hunting locations for the rest of the resources? (a completelist would be awesome but I understand if it takes to long).

Resources change in quality and location every so often (at most they stick around for 2 weeks, I think.) So posting about any one resource is pointless. Use swgcraft.com's "current resources" feature to help look up what's available (you still have to find waypoints to where the resources are.) Use swgcreatures.com's "advanced search" to find which animals have avian and herb meat.

3) Is there a way to quickly see if the resource is good? I know that this issomething that I need to learn and memorize, but do you have any useful tricks? To do a quick calc in your head or something? Or should I go out and buy myself a calculator?
It's quite simple- for Doctor resources you only need to examine each resource for three stats: Overall Quality, Potential Energy, and Decay Resistance. For the most part you want high OQ, followed by PE and DR.

Don't ask HOW high- collect some of differing qualities, experiment and see what you get. You'll need the experience yourself in this.

4) Also, I would like to make at least 100 buff packets (for each stat) at the time so I don't have to go hunting every other day. Is that doable or do I needinsane amounts of resources then?
It's doable, but takes a while to gather. You'll need12k of avian meat and reactive gas, 10k of domesticated oats and dolovite iron, 20k of herbivore meat and class 4 liquid, 31k of tatooine fiberplast and lokian wheat. They ALL have to be high in OQ/PE (and preferably DR) if you want to make GOOD ones.

5) Since I want to make my buffs into crates I guess I need factories. How does that work? Are their better factories or they are all the same? Does the locationmatter where I put my factory? Or I can put one next to my house? Also, do they require windpower generators and other machinery?
Location doesn't matter, quality doesn't matter (I think). They require power (wind, solar OR radioactive), and money to run. You have to first craft a schematic from your resources. Then you put those same resources into the factory, throw in the schematic, and start the factory. Come back in a day and you're done. =)

The Crafting Process
So now I have all the resources, a factory and a 40+ crafting station. Its time to start making the buffs (I guess?).

1) I read that if you are going to use a factory you need identical resources and for resources to be identical you need them in factory crates. So I need to make factory crates of each component that is going into the buffs. What are they and could you list them for each component?
No, because it's a lot easier for you to look it up in your own Datapad. Open that, go to Draft Schematics, and look up what you need. For buffpacks, you'll want Advanced Bio Effect Controllers, Advanced Chemical Release Delivery Mechanisms, Advanced Solid Delivery Shells. We call em ABEC, ACRDM, ASDS for short.

2) All right I now have all the component required what do I do next?
You also need avian meat/reactive gas (again, just check your own Datapad's schematics.) Craft them normally, but instead of practice or prototype, make a schematic of your own. Now you can drop that schematic (along with your resources) into a factory.

3) The Schematic and Experimentation - Sounds exciting. Any tips/tricks? Someone said that I should do one point at the time instead of all of them at once. How come?

First off, make sure no matter how many points you decide to do at once, the Risk displayed in the experimentation window is 0. That minimizes your chances of failure.

Their reasoning is that if you do one point at a time, you won't lose everything if you happen to roll one critical failure. You'll get some failures, and some successes, and they average out.

I advocate the EXACT OPPOSITE. Minimize the number of times you have to roll- because, let's face it, you don't want anything but the very best. If I do 1 point at a time, if ANY of those 10 rolls gets a failure I'll toss the whole thing out. If I do 5 points at a time, I only have to roll twice.

4) How long does it take to make the buffs when the factory is running?

A couple minutes per pack. If you're makinga crate of 50, that could take two hours.

5) I have seen people have robots that tend the crafting stations. What do they do?

Absolutely nothing. Decoration only.

Well, that is all I could think of. I am sure there are lots of things that I have missed. Please feel free to fill me in. I appreciate all the help I can get.

Thanks in advance.
