Thread: Where do YOU hunt avain meet?
Yeah if you can bust your but trying to get started as a doc and understand what your doing it only takes a month or so to make enough money to go into buisiness for yourself as I did, or just be smart with your resources, always be sure that you make factory crates, I hate assembling by hand and it's allot more consistent when you make factory runs.
When I first started as a doc I would drop skills to harvest better, now with this new food that help your harvest rate, especially for avian meats, I am content with master doc, master pistoleer, scout 0/0/1/0. I personally try to buy lots of 7k in avian, I will pay 1 million to people who harvest 14k of quality avian, my whole point is that you can make a crate of 50 in each stat with 7k of meat, those will last anyone a month or more usually. I got to the point where I made way more than I could use so I had a friend set up a vendor, now I am like the major buff supplier on the server and cannot make enough!!
As some have stated already, Lok rules for hunting avian but you need some skill because its an advanced planet, I generally hoard meat from there when it's good, the best meat ever seen on Valcyn was on rori recently, I was making 35/930 13k duration buffs from it. I spent a ton of money for that stuff because it was so hard to get, I also didnt get very much of it. Also, naboo is a great place when avian is good!! peko pekos make nice drops and kaduus are decent, and if you hire a ranger and get a group to harvest a peko peko albatross!! I got 800 units of meat off one bird with only hunting 1!! I used to be able to solo those with my awesome mountain krevol before they nerfed him.
I don't believe dantooine has avian so don't hunt there for it, but generally a great place when herbivore is good!! Talus, Rori, Tatooine are not big drops for avian except the guilginaws on talus but you cannot get missions for those and Irarely see any lairs, they are just static spawns. I havent hunted avian on endor, yavin or dathomir so I am not sure how it is to get avian in quantity on those planets.
I have started an alternate character thats going CH/Carbineer/Ranger just for my meat needs, and because of the barrage of tells I go through as my doctor selling med supplies.

I go to rori and hunt rasps. They are easy to kill (cl6-8 on avg) and missions for them are fairly common not to mention the random spawns. The harvest is low (5-10) but it doesn't take a long to time to run multiple missions and generate a decent stock (3-400).
Naboo for Peko Peko is another good source. There the creatures are tougher (cl14) but the meat drop is better (25 avg). For me these will do when soloing (Novice Carbineer 0-0-0-0).
i cannot hunt meat.

so i'm forced to hire rangers and scouts.
but i'm glad for this. its an economic system and they need to get paid too.
killing the same mobs over and over again isn't fun, very tedious.
i paid 200 cpu for the avian that just spawned. got 200K of it that way. i will make quadruple that in selling buffs.
200K of avian will last quite awile.
