I actualy (yes I know I am about to say something controverisial here) think that CM is the best combat profession with DOC. Maybe that is because I am a wookiee and have no armor but between the two you are a force to be reconed with both in PvP and in PvE. Heh heh kiting with an FWG5 while tossing poisons and diseases works both on hardcore planets and in PvP.

A master doctor/master heavy swordsman on BE Brandy is downright lethal in PvE, we're kinda so so in PvP because our accuracy is terrible, but since PvP is largely broken right now that doesn't concern me hugely

After publish 7, Carbineer will be good in pvp. Area bleeds, area dizzy, area KD

Swordsman are the best PvE profession I've mastered. They kill things like pikets faster than TKMs and there is a lot of interesting stuff in the arsenal now - scythes, acklay hammers

just outta curisosity how many of people in here actually hunt big game???
I know i go hunting rancors about 5 times a week with my friends a tkm and fencer were all docs now i agree that to many a piket is big game. but uh after i watch my H2H friends keep getting wacked by rancors and there mind bleeds while i got about 14 of them beating on me as a pistoleer.......i'm sorry i just have to laugh.
well just my 2 cents i've done alot of combat professions and given tkm is cool cause none of it is broke. after the combat balance finnaly comes around(optimistacly finished about the time the space expansion debuts) your gonna see a big switch from the tkm/doctor templates which i swear is the most common template in the galaxies. to more of the ranged professions.

Cailid, TKM can indeed kill things fast. Your argument seems to be that though the TK does only kinetic damage, they do enough of it that 65% kinetic resists are not an issue.
So be it.
What happens when you run up against 100% kinetic resist? I've seen it. You don't have an option. A pistoleer does.

I've hunted just about everything up to frenzied grauls, ancient bull rancors and nightsisters. I'm currently just going after pikets because they have the best herb meat at this time. Once it shifts I'll probably go after jantas, kungas and nightsisters again for the drops.

Oh yeah, between myself and another Doctor (who was non combat) we were happily doing the 26k Janta/Mokk missions.
Well, technically I was doing the missions, he didn't even have time to heal me before getting incapped
I'm interested in nipping of to the NS cave with a few friends to try them at the weekend.

I am currently a Doc/CH. It is a great support combo for PvE. Send in the pet to tank and then just stand around and heal. You can also buff your pet and befriend them to help out those in PvP. A buffed lvl 60 pet with poison/disease is a beast. Having the scouting skills helps with harvesting herb/avian.
The only down side is that it gets a bit boring. Your not really in the action. And when you do get attacked your toast.
Im going to give up the CH and try out pistols just for a change of pace.

I'm very happy with TKM and Master Doc. Sure you can't damage 100% kinetic resist MOBs, but you can still debuff them. Stun, Intimidate, Dizzy, Knockdown, Blind all still work. With crappy unlayered composite armor, I can still tank groups of 5 enraged rancors with no problems at all. With such a high accuracy, you even have a decent chance of hitting some defense stackers in pvp. They may be wearing kinetic layer composite, but, hopefully, you'll have friends with you to dish out the damage.
The only problem I run into is finding and harvesting resources. With the 18 skill points I have after MDOC/TKM, I end up switching between Novice Artisan and Novice Scout almost daily...
