Thread: Dev Clarification on why buffs are the way they are on LIVE.

Whats the max power of a Enhance C? Some docs who could experiment these up highly might wanna fall back to C's, if you can get close to 800 power, but with much less effort in resource gathering...

very simple solution: only allow docs to buff people in their group.... its sooooo simple... just like training or Image designing....
Why dont they do that?
so every time you are selling buffs in coronet or theed you want to be constantly grouping with people and kicking themout when they are done when you have 10 or more people waiting to be buffed?

Overwriting buffs was a solution to many problems, but it created 1 more...
There were doubtless to be people that had the time and credits to rebuff until they had "perfect 3+k buffs." With high end buffs already making a lot of the higher content too easy, the devs decided to make the closely debated fixed buff change as well.
Now legitimate lower buffs can be replaced by more balanced high buffs, also the powerful and wealthy cannot use the randomness to ultra-buff themselves and take advantage of the system.
This is the reason that tipped the balance on the fixed buff issue... a perfect set of very high 3+k buffs was something that many people would and could pay to have.. and it was just too much for the combat balance to deal with.

I am glad to see this post. This is what most people need to know. People keep thinking this is a nerf, but in fact it is a very fair way to balance the system. We all know people out there with virtually unlimited pockets that would keep buffing over and over again trying to get all 6 stats above 3000.
Dev's made a wise decision on this one.
Have you guys been following the TC crafting threads in the "in testing" section?
Under the new "improved" crafting system TC docs are finding it impossible to make good buff paks anymore. . . .
They are struggling to make an 800 power enhance pak. . . struggling.
Yes, and they're calling it a crafting system "enhancement".
but that's a different subject. don't want to hijack the thread ranting about crafting. ![]()
I must agree that the new way with removing the randomness and give a fixed number appeals to me, yes its great getting those 3.7k buffs.... but it cannot compare to the frustration of geting those 1k ones just after....
Im more concerned on the crafting part.... if they do this change and in adittion makes it harder/impossible to make good enhance packs then we can start to talk about a "nerf"

Well, that is the reason it is in testing. They are going to tweak it, balance it, etc before they push it live.

ROFL, someone has bee takeing too much muron
I'm super happy with this action from the devs. I think the people crying about it the most are the people that aren't Master Docs. And frankly to damn bad for them.....its about freaking time Master Doctors have an edge over people that just want to scrape by using as few skill points as possible, but still getting the same output from buffs as a master Doctor does.
About freaking time the devs do something that will actually promote being a Master Doc.
