If I am buffing for money, even guildmates wait in line. They don't pay, but they still have to wait. I am at work.

This brings up a great idea: Try "silent auction". When you get a /tell you reply by telling them the highest bank tipper goes first. You can keep track of it in your email. If someone tips below what your base price charge you make them wait until they offer more and finally give them the money back if they never make the reserve. I like it!

i agree with Kirus, when buffing u should not let ppl cut the line just because they offer more money. although at the mom i dont get down to coronet to buff ppl, when i used to do it quite frequently i kept a line, even rl friends and guildm8s, ppl that i spend quite a lot of time with would have to wait in the queue for buffs. i think ppl would be right to get frugstrated when a doc left some1 cut the line just because he had lotsa money to spend and no time to wait. i dont resent having turned down quite many 30-50k offers, getting ppl's trust as a good doc is all that matterns imho.

Why not? Money talks. It makes sense someone that pays 5X your rate could get better service than anyone else. I don't see anything wrong with this and I do it myself often on a non-doctor character. This is a non-issue. You can take him up on it or not, there's no right or wrong way to do it.

The word "bribe" suggests wrongdoing, as "bribe" clearly refers to payment forperforming corrupt or illegal activities. None of these are applicable here, and as frustrating as it may be for people in line, offering someone payment for quick service is not against the EULA or any rules inside the game. In real life, there are many examples of companies (i.e., Hertz #1 ClubGold) offering higher levels of service at a premium.

SWG tried to make the game more economically based, just like real life.

You need my services, then I need your services.
You have money, Ill give you what you need.

If someone is offering 30K for a fast buff, you can use that money to invest on your buffpacks when you craft more....so its not really a moral issue....its just a way of life.

People are greedy, plain and simple. It doesnt make them a bad person, its just the way it is.

yup. more money for me is better for me. thats what i play the game for.........ME! so if someone doesnt like me doing whatever i want to make ME happier and richer then to heck with them. lol. its just a game. if everyone played by their according to their moral views, then there would only be a handfull of imps. im sure most people who play an imp dont do so because they agree with imperial views in their personal lives. they do it because games arent supposed to be like real life. its fun. its fantasy. its an escape. that said, if you play the game because you want people to like you (i for one enjoy being liked by people. even in a game) then taking bribes probobally wouldnt make you the most poplular person in the SWG world.

I sense the dark side in you.........

Yes I agree, reputation is MUCH more important. On Ahazi I have people that will fly 2 planets just to meet up with me to get buff's because they know that I will treat them fair and do it with a smile and talk with them while buffing. The only people who I left cut in-line are IRL friends and guild mates and thats only at slow times.

Would it be considered ok if your standard macro announce went something like

"Buffing over here - 6K gets you a spot at the end of the line - 30K claims spot at the head of the line. If a line forms at the head of the line, highest tip goes next. For 200K I stop buffing this schmoe and you are up."

I think as long as your open and honest about it people wouldn't consider it underhanded. Amoral, mercenary, unjust, unfair, republican and wrong maybe.... but not sneaky or underhanded.

LOL....

I don't think I'd ever do this, but I wouldn't criticize a guy doing it when there's a line of 15 people like I sometimes see in Coronet. It'd just be really hard to keep track of who's the highest bidder at the head of the line.

I charge 10k for buffs. If a guy offers me 30k, I say sure, then buff him and then buff the guy that was forced to wait for free and tell him that the guy I just buffed paid for his buff lol

I like the idea of reduced cost to the person who has to wait, nice touch. I do think that you should raise your price, you may stay just as busy and make more money.

Your the doctor, doctor as you see fit. If you are a chop shop, make em pay. There are respectable doctors and there are those that only want the credits. It is your toon life, live it as you see fit. There is no Doctor Union.

By the way for 50k someone would get head of the line privelages from me, and I am respectable, but everyone waiting wouldn't argue with me either, cause they know this is my living.
