Agreed. Just type out /ano and you'll become anonymous and unsearchable!

This only works for those players that have not been prior customers. I'm sure that I've been added to many player's friends list after a good buff session. It's nice to be wanted, but I agree it's an annoyance to get /tells asking where you are and if you are buffing as soon as you login. Some players (names withheld) can be down right aggressive about it and I have been forced to /addignore one customer just to get some peace.

I've set my AFK message to "Nope, I'm not buffing." (suggestion from another thread on this forum) and I'll go /afk while I'm just running errands.

You guys should be thankful there's such a big demand for doctors buffs right now. Sure it's annoying all the tells, but why should I feel annoying when I'm simply asking if you are buffing are not? Granted I'm an idiot to think you're going to take a shuttle over to where I am simply to buff me, but ifa player is asking if you're buffing a simple no I'm not buffing atm would do. You don't need to put me on an ignore list b/c I ask you if you're buffing lol how much sense does that make.

When you put it that way, yes, it doesn't make sense but its always happening. I know when I get to master or before then, I wont be doing it.

Hmmmm

well I know for me, people asking me isnt the problem. It's when I'm talking to some friends of mine on the opposite side of the planet using tells. I am ok with using /r but as soon as someone tells me, now i'm replying to them. Personally, I dont mind the business/money but then again I don't have a title under my name...I took it off for that reason. If I feel like buffing, I just put the tag on and wait.

Again, I think mostly the point is that some of us get so busy managing tells that you cannot even talk to your friends or conduct other normal business or having fun yourself because your replying to tells saying no i'm not buffing.

I often wear my Master Combat Medic tag as an attempt to avoid tells for buffs. This has become rather ineffective as I get the tells regardless of my title. I have at times (when wearing the MCM title) replied to tells with something along the lines of "I'm a Combat Medic, Combat Medics can't buff." I only do this when I don't recognize the name of the requestor, of course. I now only buffs friends, guildmates, groupmates and a select few paying customers who appreciate the effort I put into my buff packs and are willing to meet me where I am to get the buffs. I stopped buffing for money a long time ago, but I still get the random tells, often from people who saw my vendors. My only real gripe though is that I can't wear my Master Doctor tag without getting harrased when I refuse to buff someone. It seems that many players see the Master Doctor tag as a buffing advertisement and insist that a doc should only wear it when selling buffs.

What I always hated the most was when on an advanced planet with a few friends you'd see the guy spamming "LOOKING FOR BUFFAGE" every 5 secs. It's always in caps and filling the screen. You go off into a corner to buff your friend who's on the hunt with you. Obviously trying to avoid him. The guy happens to see and runs over. "BUFF ME, BUFF ME" I always make up some really high amount to charge, hoping they decide not to bother me anymore. They say "OK" and they get a sort of crummy initial buff. Maybe 1600 or so and start to whine and moan about paying and these are really crappy buffs, "you n00b" etc. etc..

I'vwe only been asked to travel across the planet once to buff a guy. He also offered to pay double my standard fee so I did it. While I was there I also buffed 3 other people and sold a crate of stims so it was a worthwhile trip

Any time I've said I wasn't buffing / busy hunting / out of buff packs atm, the worst reply I evergot was "oh, ok".

A few weeks ago a lady asked me to come to her. She was in the middle of something and I had the time so I hopped on the suttle (which was there anyway). She asked "How much" and I said "what ever you think it was worth". It was an average buff. She tipped me 60k.

I don't normally have time for house calls. The most valuable thing in the game is time. Be sure you get paid for it.

I am thankful for the demand for buffs - when I'm in that role. It's not the only thing I do in the game and too many players think that it is.

Sending "a simple no I'm not buffing atm" is good, until you are doing it a dozen times a hour. Or worse, getting into a debate with a player as to why you are not buffing now - because he's been looking for a buff at the Dantooine Mining Outpost for the last 15 minutes. It's demanding and rude behavior. There are common places in the galaxy where a player can find a Master Doctor selling buffs - Coronet starport springs to mind. I'd just like to see players perform a little more due diligence before they start hassling all the Doctors they know.

I'll assume, SoontierFel, that you have some combat skills. What if your combat skill was in high demand, but not a skill most players had for themselves? Wouldn't you feel a bit put upon if others kept approaching you or sending you /tells asking you (expecting you) to help them with their missions, clear out their spawn so they can finish the lair and so on? You are not in SWG to be at the beck and call of other players, are you? I'm certainly not.

Should we charge extra for folks who request buffs when we are not obviously advertising / giving buffs? I shouldn't have to take my Master Doc tag off just to get people to quit annoying me, and if they want me to do something extra for them, they should be charged, right?

The only reason to have your Master doc tag on is to show other people that you are a Master Doc. Since you are advertising to others with that, you have to expect people might send you a tell or something.

Whether or not they should be charged more is up to you. I don't see any flag telling me that your not currently buffing though if you have Master Doctor by your name. I do know that I would never travel to buff someone. They would always have to come to me.

Some people like to wear the tag because they're proud of it. It shows that they've earned the title. The title says "Master Doctor", not "Send Me Tells For Buffs"

Well lately on Valcyn since a thread started on that forum about /tells and how doctors are treated I have kept my tag on, and low and behold I just simply gate "Are you buffing today?" or other very polite variations.

Simply, if I get a tell and someone wants rezzed or buffed and is far away. And I feel like going that far out of my way I just somply ask faction, overtness and agree to the price ahead of time. If the price is not good for the trouble too bad for tham, just as the faction and whether they are overt.

Usually when people ask you to travel a long distance they usually pay up, and they uesually understand if you are busy or no0t in the mood to travel there
