Cool.

So the TKM does more damage than say the Swordsman or Pikeman?

Sorry to 'bug', I'm just new and am curious

I went for master pistoleer and never regreted it. Why?

The brawler professions are tanks and if you op for them with Doctor you are a good soloist but limited in your party healing ability. You can't heal a party well if you're tanking.

As for the marksmen professions, rifleman requires too much range, carbineer is fine, but then there's pistoleer.

I get great dodge, very handy when healing a party.

I can hold myself in most battles. I'm not a tank but I'm not a cakewalk either.

Pistols range means I'm not forced into distances like rifleman.

I like being Master Doctor and a mix of other skills that round me out.

Artisan 0/0/0/4 - Collect my own resources, maximize my profit margins

Scout 4/0/3/0 - Move around in the environmenteasily (quick escapes) and harvest the meat needed

Marksman 0/4/0/4 - It's a harsh world, I need to defend myself (and hunt down that Avain and Herbivore meat).

Well as a doc/carbbineer i can say that buffs are everything till our hams get fixed. Also next patch we have our dizzies fixed!!! ranged dizzy kd anyone? : ) Being able to use some good aoe attacks to pull 4-5 white mobs on you and kite them with aoe attacks works great wen they cant do crap to you because of buffs and state heals. Being able to stand up on a kd/dizzy tk shocks em most of the time also. Speed is a bit slow for carbines but with a weapon crafted right and poweruped/sliced you can hit the cap with our best attack fas2 on an elite carbine...and a couple attachments. People are shocked how well i do in pvp and pvm i feal realy strong. Im not uber unbeatable or anything but i do quite well. I love the build and have no intention of changing it. We can blind and stun everything also with fas2 and that will soon have dizzy. It makes it prety hard for ranged to hit you wile blind and you can shoot good wile running...to a downed friend or just to keep them missing. Stun also helps you hit them. As a master you will be surprised how many def template stackers you can take out because most of them just spam and think they are god heh. We have posture down moves also and area bleed (fixed next also) and an area kd to go with our area dizzy/blind/stun if they fix charge 2.

Carbineer has a lot of problems i wont deny it but its a lot of fun. Our weapons have a nice range for ideal also making it easy to select a weapon for your range..just need more types of damage as we only have acid energy and heat. Best carbinees are the DXR6 Pvm and the elite pvp. Laser on high armor mobs but i stay away from that most of the time just to irratic damage wise.

Just get a couple crates of brandy heh you will need it : )

I recently made master doctor and I'm almost to master fencer (3433). I used to hunt with small groups of other meleers and CHs with pets so it was easy to heal everyone since we were all tanking and close together. With amelee profession I have a pretty good defense so I don't have to worry too much about getting swatted myself. With a larger group I concentrate more on healing and less on fighting but can still pick up some decent experience, especially if I get in a few bleed shots. I normally use a vibroblade since it's fast and has low HAM costs with specials, especially mind. Lack of a really powerful weapon is the main drawback to Fencer although it's speed helps make up for it. Doctoring drains my mind fast enough so I want a combat profession that doesn't drain mind too much.

I don't expect to keep the full master fencer because I want as much scout as possible for terrain negotiation and harvesting. Terrain negotiation is a must to be able to get to everyone during a fight, especially in hilly terrain like on Dathomir. I was really surprised on my first big hunt with my new guild the other night how easy it was to keepeveryone up after I buffed them all before starting. Most of my healing was curing poison/disease, removing states or on pets, . We were hunting on Dathomir and took out a lot of Rancors without too much trouble. I was able to pick up some serious fencer experience too. Our biggest problem was mind damage but the new mind food helps out a lot.

I haven't done much PVP so I don't know how this will work out there.

I can only speak for myself, but I choosed Pikeman for the coolness factor. Later tho I realised its a very potent defence weapon against ppl getting to close to your patients. Im soon master Pikeman myself, but are already enjoyingsweeping the feets of the ppltrying to get to my patients. Ive been told also that when hitting master you dont really miss that much either.

This is almost my template exactally and I really enjoy it. I like the freedom to advance my character without having to kill an endless stream of MOB's. I recommend it for anyone who is sick of the EQ, DAOC type games.
