actually i thought it was a creative use of your non combat profession in helping out your faction the only way you saw a way to do so. i wouldnt personally do it because of all the crap i know i would get. i prefer to avoid that kind of thing, but congrats on thinking out of the box. to me this is no different than double agents. people create alt accounts and join the opposing faction. they get warrant officer 3 so they can determine a base's status. then they can just relay the inside info to faction comrades. cheesy, but smart tactics. seems similar to me since neither can be attacked for their transgressions. on the other hand, more than likely any strike team will be pre buffed before a raid on an opposing strong hold. if they arent then they would die anyways and your buff would just make it a tiny bit harder to kill them. no one gets buffed in the middle of a raid. hehe. they might even give you a tiny tip for doing it.
Actually... I agree with this! Sure it's somewhat underhanded... but how many battle tactics aren't? When military strategies are laid out... are they laid out in such a way that makes it most-fair & counter-attackableto the other side?In real-life war when a sniper takes out a guard or a high-profile commander.... does the other side cry saying it wasn't FAIR and that your not playing by the rules?? Hell no - they wish THEYthoughtof itFIRST.I'm not saying it's an upfront method or even a "fair" method... but it's a method none-the-less... and anyone who claims they have never tried to find an unorthodox method to gain an advantage in combat is either lying or inexperienced. Moral of the story: Be as well-prepared as you can be and deal with whatever comes your way.
Since it is both griefing and exploiting it's fairly easily countered by reporting you to Customer Service
If someone got a large PA or two to all individually file complaints and actively push them whenever you did this I think you'd find yourself looking for a new game
Somewhat moot since this exploit will be fixed on Tuesday
in response to the guy that said this is an exploit:
since when is giving away free buffs an exploit? you gonna report every doc or would be doc for giving away free buffs? it would be impossible to prove intent unless the buffer told his buffees what his intentions were. seems to me this would be an easily defendable argument. csr says: "you were reported for griefing via giving free crappy buffs". docs response: "i and the buffee had high battle fatigue. we were both wearing armor. all i have are A buff packs. buffee was unbuffed so naturally i thought my free gift would be appreciated since any buff is better than no buff at all. i did the best i could. tell the offended party that im sorry and would be glad to rebuff them in hopes of better results this time. naturally i wouldnt think of charging for my service since they were so upset by my previous FREE buff. csr response: "well if you are a member of the opposing faction, why would you buff a member of the opposite faction when they are obviously raiding an enemy strong hold?" docs response: " i am a double agent. i am only a member of this faction so i can spy on them and report to my preferred faction. since spy was not a profession option, and a spy is what i so desire to play, this is the only way i can roleplay a spy. just doin my part to support the alliance/empire". csr: "very well. have a nice day. sorry to interupt your gameplay".
really now. how is this considered an exploit and where in the giant exploit rule book does it state: "thou shalt not buff any stat below 400 (or 500 or 300 or 3000 or whatever the rule violation limit is set at)."
From a purely tactical standpoint, it is a way for a non-combat class to contribute.
Having said that, it is a long standing source of outrage to my brethren here, and I am glad it dies with the next Publish.

i didn't ask to be flamed, i was looking for input.
Need i bring up the covert Combat Medics who can 1 Tick drain anyone's mind from 64+m out?
Or the Rifleman who are super soldiers with the 3 shot mind trick...or the most melee defense in the game.

As soon as that CM or Rifleman attacks you, you can attack them in return. The doctor buffing you can never be touched giving you no chance at all to attack him.
That is griefing and it is lame.
