Thread: Healing tumblers and the annoyance therin....

Ok, here's something that's been annoying me lately: people who get someone to tumble for them so they can heal and get free xp.

I'm nearly a master doctor (working on my last crafting box) and I got every single medical point by healing people who need it and healing in a hunting group. This tumbling stuff really cheapens the effort i've put in to attain master doctor.

I wonder, are there any other doctors out there who did it all themselves as I have?

On TC, there are close to no groups on a daily basis. What i did, with another friend going up to master doc (and then master CM):


/activateclone now, until we heard devs were banning for it. We later learned that they weren't, but we decided to stop anyways.


Tumbled for each other, alternating every hour or so... It's lame, but it's fast...


Buff our pets...


I'm sorry to say but tumbling is fast, it's the easy way to grind doc (6 hours or so for the entire med XP required) and it can be VERY VERY VERY easily AFKed... that's why it's loved the most...

What I find really funny about these afk tumblers is that you walk into a busy med bay and people are queuing for real healing but there are 2 perfectly good medics in the corner tumbling for each other. Whats worse is the single guy who tumbles and spams that hes tumbling for tips in the med centre.


I used to tip docs, and more so than I'd ever tip entertainers but my attitude has changed recently...






Dev' Eloper uses Combat Balance Reschedule on you for 6-8 months worth of damage points!
You shoot your mouth off on the forums but miss! You post constructively but it is deleted!
Ubercred It'Duper tips you Cr 27,000,000,000,000,000,000 but you evade it!
Dev' Eloper uses Publish 10 Vendor Fix on you for 55 item limit damage! Your vendors and 12 months of work have become incapacitated!
You use Cancel Account Button on Dev' Eloper for $15 p/m of damage!
Dev' Eloper tries to use JTL Expansion pack on you for $50 worth of damage on you but misses!
You use windows sys32 fdsk utility on StarWars Galaxies program files for 2.4Gb of damage! StarWars Galaxies: An Empire Developed is no more!!

Simple soloution. Craft a bunch of b or c level buff packs. Use bad ingrediants.

Find a tumble monkey and buff thier stamina/quickenss/strength/constitution with High level buffs. If someone starts to yell at you, buff them with the b level buffs. Buff anyone that you see that encourages this behavior with crappy buffs.

Yeah, I said I used to tip medics/docs a lot more than I'd ever tip entertainers, since medics need to buy and craft their stuff.


I refuse to tip afk dancers/musicians and from what I see of some medics/docs and their afk trickslately, I'll be tipping themless frequently.

So you think it's ok for you to go AFK and heal up, but it's not ok for others to go AFK and get XP.

I did all of Doctor and Medic by being at the keyboard and healing everyone in the medical center, healing everyone in the Cantina when the medical center was slow and just to socialise, and I healed when I went hunting with my friends. I admit that I did the crafting box using the /nextCraftingStage macro, but that is the only macro I ever used.


Back in Beta, I did discover the tumble-to-x macro, and had a friend do it while he grinded Wilderness Survival as a Ranger, but that was only in Beta and I never even touched it again in live.

the trouble is that it takes forever to get healing xp the right way.


you get so miffed trying to get enough xp to level that its tempting to do a little grind now & then.

Yeah everytime I see an AFK tumbler I hit his action, stamina, quickness with buffs, granted it doesn't completely stop the action from going down, but it slows it down to a very minimum.

I dont want them to take it out for one simple reason: The Dev's said they would allow Macros and this would be included. How is it not fair when ppl can get their survey, weaponsmith, etc, by just walking away from their computers? Whether or not its the same level just b/c its not Hybrid doesnt matter---its still gaining xp while not even at the PC. Or in the case of Weaponsmiths, ppl who run their factories constantly and simply run into a wall to keep from timing out. All the time theyre gaining Massive xp, and up to master level within a day or two. That is "supposed" to be fixed, but since I saw someone doing this in-game from another guild we know well, I know for a fact that stuffs going on. In comparison to the xp they get for things like that and who knows what else shortcuts in the other professions, I think Tumblers are a TINY blip on the radar.


I was laughing the other day b/c there were several novice doctors arguing over one tumbler in a med center, and this was in Theed. One tumbler in Theed, one in Coronet, and possibly a few more around the galaxy. You really think that makes a difference? And all the while someone is rocketing up the skill trees in another profession while not even having to BE there.


So if theyre not gonna nerf Macro's for everyone, leave the Tumblers alone.
