iv been searching for a good supply of herbivor meat and the best iv found so far have stats of

the meat with the best OQ has a rating of about 989 but the PE is only about 273, where as the meat with the best PE is about 565 with the OQ a very resonable 730, iv also read that DR is a factor to take into consideration is this true ?

thanks for any help

DR is a factor only in enhancement packs so that applies only to reactive gas and avian meat, not herbivore meat.

For herbivore meat, you can determine the overall quality by using this formula:

OQ * 0.66 + PE * 0.33

That will give you a result somewhere between 1 and 1000. The higher the number, the bestter the meat. So, for the two meats you identified:

  • 989 * 0.66 + 273 * 0.33 = 652.74 + 90.09 = 742.83

  • 730 * 0.66 + 565 * 0.33 = 481.8 + 186.45 = 668.25

So, the meat with OQ 989 is a superior meat.

You can check out the FAQ - you'll find lots of information just like this already laid out and in greater detail than this.

Fyi for comparison purposes this formula works better: 2*oq+tough

i love sporks

that formula is rubbish

2 x oq+tough or pe as the case is

if i had 1000 oq and 100 tough, using your formula i get the same result as a 1000tough and 100oq

the oq is twice as important sometimes even more!

There's no need for this thread. Read the draft schematics in your Datapad. For most itemsit says 66% dependent on Overall Quality and 33% dependent on Potential Energy. I repeat, read the schematics in your datapad in the game.

The formula 2 times oq plus toughness or pe would work...but the number to compare it is 3000....oq1000 and pe1000 in this formula is 3000. In your example....2 times 1000 plus 100 is 2100....not as good.

apologies, i was taking it as 2*(oq+ut/pe) not (2*OQ)+Ut/pe
