calling out people with their name and claiming they are something doesn't mean they are, so in other words unless there is proff of whatever they did you can't call them out. And if they did something and it was proven then the CSR will have already taking action against them.

actually thats a good point. didnt look at it that way. i guess a person could just add the name of someone he didnt like regardless of if he's actually a scammer or not. personally i share my blacklist with fellow doc buddies in game. they do the same with me. i always see people stand in front of me and saying nothing. takes a while to figure out that i have them on my ignore list. often i dont even remember why. i wish there was a way to add notes to any player i have on my ignore list. that way ill know if they are a buff run off or a coronet spammer. i wouldnt mind taking the spammers off my list. never want to hear from a buff thief again though.

If I happen to be selling stat buffs I always insist on payment upfront thru the "secure trade window", I get to see the actual payment entered and avoid the payment transfer scam

personally i do not know any doctors, including myself, that does not have the person pay up front. i've been doing it that way sense the first time i could buff

the names Kennshin. and i deleted my wookiee character for respectable reasons.

VERY good post about how you should look at gaming

Guys, Pay First = Buffs Second, its not a hard formula.

What if the person ripping you off was role playing a theif, After All, this is a ROLE PLAYING Game. Make people pay first, trust no one, If you report someone for this, the csr's just say that all systems are in place for people not to get ripped off and to utilize them.

Remember. Pay First. Buffs/Heals Second

Can't you just report the scammer for fraud? Maybe throw in a picture....

people think they can hide behind the RP'ing excuse. that doesnt fly. if your breaking the rules of the TOS agreement then it doesnt matter what you "claim" your doing. its still against the rules. ive seen this excuse used in every mmorpg ive played and it never works. if that were the case, you could exploit every bug in the game and claim that you are just role playing a duper or general bug exploiter. see how well that is accepted by csr's. lol

ok, there is a big difference here between role playing and exploiting and breaking the TOS agreement.

There are full systems in place for "protecting" yourselves against theives, the trade window, tipping first etc. Use them

Now if i was a jedi and letting a bounty hunter kill me over and over for 150k creditsor whatever it was/is that is an exploit, thats not role playing a thief, thats breaking the TOS and being a theif.

Big difference there c'mon. Example. Lets Say i was in the Starport as a Overt Imperial, and a overt Rebel comes along and kills me dead. Is he now a Murderer? Is that against the TOS? Should i report him for exploiting? i dont think so. Being a Murderer is worse than a theif, at least in my opinion, So why are all these murderers not being tagged as exploiters and only the thiefs are? Again all the systems are in place not to get ripped off, use your head, trust no one.

but plain and simple: scamming is clearly prohibited in the TOS. regardless if a player doesnt take advantage of the implemented safe guards. paint the picture any color you want, but its still against the game rules. there is no thief profession in this game. you can choose to "roleplay" anything you want, but if it breaks the game rules then its still a violation of the TOS. here is an example: player 1 is a smuggler. he agrees to slice player 2's weapon for a price. player 2 hands over the weapon. player 1 runs off with weapon patting himself on the back for roleplaying his smuggler/thief character. player 1 however is in violation of the TOS. you cant roleplay something that griefs another player. the same would apply to a player who agrees to buy something from another player. they open a trade window. the buyer says "ooops. not enough cash on me. ill have to tip it to you". the seller agrees and completes the trade without getting the money up front. the buyer then either runs off with the item without paying for it, or just bank tips a much lower ammount or any ammount lower than agreed upon. he has thus broken the TOS by scamming the seller. roleplaying excuse or not. its still scamming and is prohibeted under the terms of service agreement. agree or disagree. its plain and simple. we dont make the rules of this game but we all have to abide by them. they may not allow you to "role play" anything you want, but they are pretty black and white. try to find a grey area there if you want, but it wont get you very far.
