If you never buff large groupsfor money, like on Coronet, then you probably never will have to deal with this ..

In Radiant, buffs almost always cost 6k. And, there's almost always very large linesin Coronet, especially since one third of the time there's only one doctor. So, the rich, impatient ones (no offense of course) try to "bribe" the doctors by going "I'll pay you 30k if you buff me now". There are several problems with this.

First of all, sometimes people wait a long, long time to get buffed. Getting someone to cut them can make them mad to have to sit through one more buff. Yes, it's only one more buff - but it adds up. Also, I usually buff 20 people a round. After 20, I begin getting figity and bored - besides, after 20 I have no more buffs, so even if I wanted to I couldn't. So, if I have like 8 left, and there's 8 people in the line, then if I let someone cut for money it's basically throwing the last person in line off for money.

A recent conversation:

(there was a line of like 10 people)

"Hey, will you buff me now? I'll give 30k!"

"I'm sorry, I don't make arrangements like that"

"Bah, I understand your principle, and I respect that, but **** man!"

Yes, he wan't a jerk, he didn't keep bugging me or anything, and he understood why I did it, but it's still an issue. I don't believe just because someone has money should allow them to throw off the littler people needing buffs.

My two cents, now what are yours?

For 30k hmm i would have probbably let him skip the queue , but only if he had asked in a tell and was polite about it. I've done it before for friends and i've pushed people to the back of the queue if they have been annoying or rude or i've known themas having a bad reputation. I think alomosteveryone's got a price

I became a Doctor for the profit, pure and simple. I have no moral values when customers are concerned, the highest bidder always gets to cut the line and gets the best buffs.

In fact I charge an off duty price of 30-50k depending where I am (30k when I'm off-duty at an outpost / city, 50k if I'm on a mission).A lot of people pay that price because they understand that it's not my job to drop everything I'm doing to run over and buff them.

I think all docs should start charging what they think compensates them for their time and stop worrying about what other people think.

Just my 3.21 cents

Just read the post above mine, and I agree. I would only let people cut if they address me via /tells, which everyone has done thus far.

If someone is prepared to pay me enough for me to abandon my principles and let them skip the queue, they are very rich indeed. I dont come cheap

I have been tempted to say, for every 1k you pay me i will move you forward 1.If i have2 fools with more money than time, I would have a rather entertaining (and profitable) bidding war

I'm not anywhere near master doc (starsider)yet, but I am a master musician (bria) and when I've led music groups on Dathomir--a favorite place for afk macrotainers to grind out their music xp--I got all sorts of bribes offered if I would just kick someone else out of the group and let the briber in. I kept my intergrity intact, but sometimes it would work out great and somone would drop from the group so I'd be able to let the person who was trying to bribe me in the group anyway.

Largest offer - 250k. (these people are desperate. )

I don't accept bribes but I wouldn't put anyone down who did.

Mercenary docs. . . I love it man. Heck become a carbineer and wear that Mercanary title above your head just for the heck of it.

What you might be overlooking, is that it could well be more profitable for you to be a respected Doc, than a greedy /no morals Doc.

I've had someone offer me 70k to skip the queue, and i declined him. For me, reputation means a lot.

Heh, I'm a master doc/carbineer and I DO wear mercenary above my head lol

I don't like to take bribes, if I tell someone they're next then unless I mess up the order of people waiting, then that's who was next. If the person who wants to skip the line has enough money to throw around, then he can bribe the line and me to take him--so the one time someone offered me a bribe that I took, it was b/c I asked the next two people and kicked them a discount on their buffs, paid for by the guy's brib. They didn't mind waiting if it meant a discount...and I didn't mind the extra work cause i got paid more (extra work being asking everyone if that was ok)...so everyone was happy.

I agree about the reputation thing, and I just think that if I had waited in line for a long time, and got bought out by some rich guy, that I'd be pretty mad... hehe.
