Thread: a fair price for the new static buffs?
Since the buffs require exactly the same resources as before and achieve exactly the same average effect then a fair price is exactly the same as what was fair on your server before the change
Last time I was Master I used to charge 5k. I dropped it with some relief, that price wasn't worth the volume, of tells, the extensive harvester and hunting work and the rest of the baggage that went with providing the service
seeing as resources are NOT exactly the same, diffirent types = diffirent quality = shifting prices
generally the higher the quality, the higher the price to buy
the higher the quality, the better the buffs. so the better the buffs the higher the price to make! which i think makes the 1:1 point:credit ratio more than acceptible.
I'm hitting ~2400 for 3 hours with Bivoli. I was charging 6k per set. But the BE Bivoli is 3k per use. I usually don't sit at a starport and buff people so most of the time a Bivoli charge is used for oneto a few people.
I'm thinking about offering a with and without Bivoli price or going to 8k for a set and always use the Bivoli.
Has anyone been asked to upgrade a buff?
I use 902/11908/27 buff packs so at 1 cr per point increase would be 14,694 for a set of buffs.
ill still be charging 8k for my buffs which are 2449 and last 3.3 hours as i just dont see the need to charge anymore. i make plenty at 8k a buff.
thats with 110 droid +25 cothes and +25 bivoli.
everyone has a differnt idea as what they consider fair some may buy thier resources and have to charge a higher price to recoup thier losses from the high prices of resources. and some harvest thier own and can afford to charge less.
its a domino effect docs charge more for buffs scouts see this and say hmmmm he raised his price on buffs im gonna raise my price on avian or herb or whatever the resource may be so in turn docs will pass the cost again to the customer.
but do kep this in mind when raising prices whats it going to do to the economy in swg? is really worth it if in turn you still paying high prices or even higher because the scouts want a piece of the pie as well. but thats econnomics and a whole different ballgame
I have never been qaurantined but the more I look around the better it looks.
Dang reading the costs on other servers is making me fell better about being on Bria, the average buff price is 10k on bria, an it was with a 1k tip back for under a 1k buff... but the standard is still 10k even though i think it could be raised with static buffs....

ok ok , so maybe i was a bit hastey in saying a 1:1 charge, but i am just trying to go along that line! hell charge 0.2creds/point enhance if that what your server is. i am just trying to suggest this so people can choose really. im just fed up of the little doc in the corner without the food/clothes/droid and not very good enhance d's charging the same as me!
and yeah 10k for a full set of buffs deffo seems to be the norm!
I think the 1 credit per point system makes sense, and makes it easier for junior docs to charge for minor buffs. Now that the variability is gone, I'm already finding that people are happy to take minor buffs as they know for certain how much they'll be buffed -no risk ofgetting +120 onhealth for 1.5 hours!!!
You're not only paying for the resources - you're paying for the skill of the doctor, the time they've invested in getting up to Master, and the money they've spent on getting bio-enhanced clothing, Bivoli, etc.
My current primary buffs (C's) do 555 and 630 points each, and my secondaries (B's) range from 410 to 460... for a full set, I can now comfortably charge just shy of 3k for the set. It's not a lot of cash, even lower-level players who would never consider parting with 12k for a couple of hours of relative invulnerability are happy to part with this amount.
I'm going to stick with this system for the time being. If it doesn't work out (maybe it's less realistic at Master Doc, don't know - haven't been there!) I'll change as the situation demands.
For the moment, though - I'm happy to actually be covering the cost of my harvesters, etc.

I charge 10k for mine - they hit 2210 on all 6 stats, how ever I have been asking other Docs if that is too high or not, I only just got master.
you should charge what you feel your buffs are worth, the time it took you to get the resources and craft them, i also charge 10k for all 6 stats on any planet, depending on what packs im using all hit for between 2056 and 2298 with BE cloths and a 110 droid and the duration is between 2h10m and 3h (the last lot of gas had a poor DR of only 220 or so).
if i could not produce buffs that were hitting for more than 2k with out food and have a minimum of 2hours then i doubt i would sell them as i dont feel they are of good enough quality to sell to, if how ever i was told that it did not matter and they still wanted the buff then i would probably drop the price to about 8k.
if you think about the amount of money someone can make from running missions buffed for at least 2 hours then 10k is very cheap and is paid for (usually) in the first two missions, and if you join a big group and get afew missions on a planet such as dantoonie (but do the missions solo) you can earn 20k+ per mission
