No not really...

In the past week ive gotten tells from two people (mind you i keep my master doc title OFF) asking me to come to theed and buff them while i was on the other side of naboo. My AFK message simply states in what i thought was a polite way that Im not buffing atm please chekc your local starport. Apperently thats not good enough for some people because 2 people responded to me with swearing calling me very very vulgar names. Of course i reported them but to be quite honest thats not enough for me.

Doctors are here to play the game to i work on other proffesions i dont just log on to go sit at the starport and be a buff **edit** (as it is so commonly phrased) I am working on holos and people need to think about that before you get upset and tell a Doctor they should drop doctor if there not gonna run half a planet to come buff you on command (yup one of them had the nerve to tell me to drop the class)

And it doesnt end here I am covert Impreial because the guild im in requires you be imperial now ive never had the urge to PVP in any game really so i was really rather upset when one guy watched me buff an overt waited for the guy to walk away then came up to me and proceded to kill me in one hit and then my droid

Anyway on to my point...

Doctors of Corbantis im asking you Do you really want to play in this type ofenviroment? Im not saying lets yell at theCSR's im saying lets do something about this ourselves. I want to create a union for Doctors on the corbantis server (of course maybe this will even spread tot he other server)

This could be really useful for a few reasons...

When someone treats you like this if you get a screen shot we can post it on the union boards and ban that person frombeing buffed by the union (i know this seems a little harsh but WHY would someone start swearing at you just because you dont have the time to do this random person a favor to me that seems REALLY harsh)

Im hopeing that when really high quality resources for stims and buffs pop we can get lots of union harvestors up on them and sell them cheeply to union members the profit going back into the union (and if it works out really well and there is a heavy surplus of fundsa cash bonus will be given to everyone in the union)

Anyway those are just a few of the main reasonsI think this is a good idea if your interested send me an e-mail or tell in game. Envie on the corbantis server.

Wait a minute are you claiming not to be a buff WH0re?????? Are you mad man

I hear you on that man, sometimes I wonder if I'm suppose to be allowed to play. And I have tons of stores like that (most docs do). SItting in my player city in dantooine guy sends tell and it goes something like this:

guy: Hey can you come buff me?

Me: Crafting, but will take the time if you come here (thinking in my head: help the guy out)

guy: Please man I need to finish grinding this stuff tonight (thinking in my head: **edit** does that have to do with me....)

Me: Dude, I'm really busy crafting (thinkingin my head: maybe he will be smart and just come here and realize I won't come to him)

After couple of tells, me being nice I start to agree

guy : so you will come? (thinking : ahhhhh whatever will make you leave me alone)

Me: yeah where you at? (thinking he is at the mining outpost)

guy: Endor, smuggler (thinking did he just say endor...)

Me: are you serious? that is 3 planet hops away ( this guy must be joking)

guy: yeah bro you cna make it here real fast stop being lazy ( this dude did not just call me lazy)

Me: It is not about being lazy it is not worth it for me to come and buff you there. ( me laughing at this point)

guy: don't worry I will tip you good ( me still laughing from now until the end of the conversation)

Me: how could

guy: 10 bones dude

Me: LOL, come to correllia and I'll buff you for free because this conversation gave me a good laugh

guy: dude that would be a waste of my time, just come meet me here I will be in the star port.

/addignore guy

So trust me some people are so out there you would make you want to drop doc which I have claimeda couble of times, LOL

well protecting wages wasnt really the idea but that may come up too apperently some docs have started trying to charge 12k for 1900 to 2000 buffs on corbantis thats just outrages (yeah i cant spell) I buff for 2500 on all buffs and charge 10 (10 is the average onc orbantis btw)

Oh btw, I got so sick of buffing one saturday, I said 12k a buff. I sat down for another hour and buffed and buffed. I was still digging myself out of a financial hole at the time for having to buy my buffs (that's the killer right there).

I don't care what anyone here says, buying buffs puts you in a gross hole that takes hours to dig out of. I've made my buffs, and bought them from 3 different vendors. It takes too long to reach ground zero buying them. Not too mention 'time'. Time is everything to me in a game. That's why I mention the vendors. If we could schlock buffs through some med droid standing in a vendor, I'd say 12k is outrageous too.

So anyhoo, the next day, finally reaching ground zero, I decided to see if anyone would be willing to buy my 2200- 3hour average buffs for 12k. Next thing you know, two hours pass again. All 12k buffs. I'm out of buffs again, and will most likely have to buy another set for 97k or stop buffing and find more resources. All this while I'm listening to buddies on voice having a blast hunting or whatnot.

That's when I went hunting and closed shop. I went in a group on dantooine and then solo'd two missions worth 30k each! I used one set of buffs (on myself for once), it took me about 45 minutes to do the missions and I didn't go through gobs of resources! No lineups, bank tip rip-offs, complaining customers, etc.

So with that, I'm done buffing strangers. I have a small client base that I always buff, but that's it. It doesn't pay off to me. I can do missions that are funner, get xp, save time and resources instead! Resource collecting now is so much funner when I don't have to worry about having enough of resource 'x' to make a truckload of buffs.

12k buffs outrageous? Maybe to you. Heck maybe that is too much, but like I said, to me, time is everything in a game, so 12K isn't enough to make me sit there any longer. I'd rather slice a few guns, not have to -guarentee ANY results- and collect a 100 credits on the percentile, all while waiting for a shuttle. But to my group I'm the guy that rez's the dead ones, does the buffing, and it keeps me staying on as master doctor. Good enough for me.

AMEN BROTHER!!! Thats exactly why I refuse to be a buff-bot! I don't mind being a healer for a group or rezzing, but I only buff my guildies, citymates and my friends...

besides, mowing down Quenkers and Stormtroopers is WAY better than standing in a laggy starport anyday!

I'm 100% with you on the rude customers and standing up for yourself. I play a master doc myself on my alt, and I was one on this character until the customers annoyed me so bad I became a Rifleman, then a bounty hunter.

However, I have to disagree 100% on the TEF issue. You're fighting a war to eradicate the Rebels (terrorists) and you're making one of the soldiers in that fight three times stronger than normal in the open in the middle of a major city. You have made yourself a target. Combat players do not know or care why you became an IMP, the important thing is that you are one and you are directly aiding the enemy.

Personally, if I'm overt and I see you, you're dead, along with your droid, your speeder, and anyone else I can kill. If you can kill me, so be it, you won't be the first or last.

Nothing personal, but this game is based on a war, and a lot of people seem to have forgotten that. If you don't want to get TEF killed, don't buff overts, or do it someplace secure, or make them stay with you until your TEF goes. That's what I do when I buff/heal overt Rebs with my alt.

You can't have your cake and eat it too.

10 is about average that I've seen, but only on Dant. In Coronet (Starport) and places of such activity by doctors, I've seen as low as 6k for a full set of good buffs, but anywho.

I can see where Docs are coming from (don't tip til your turn, be calm, stop waving your blaster I'll get to you, etc). Personally I've only gotten a buff from a doctor I wasn't hunting with once... Made the unfortunate mistake of tipping him before my turn (it was only a 6k buff though), so I just tipped him again. I'd rather have a doc that liked me for paying more, then a doc that disliked me for paying too early.

The rest fo the time, its from docs in my hunting group, and I usually tip them a bit at least... Its the least the community can do for you guys. Heck, I even wanna BE one of you guys some day (I'm on my way there... slowly). I support your union idea, seems cool.

Well see the thing about tef is that if you normally buy your buffs on corbantis and you have gotten some within the last 3 weeks chances are you know my character by name and i dont just buff overt imps when an overt rebel wants buffs i call over one of my friends let them duel and rez him i dont even charge extra for the time it takes or for healing wounds etc etc

not to mention most of the guilds have policies about this kind of thing at least thats what the customers who were waiting in line when the guy did this said. There is sonme sort of unwriten rule about not killed tefed buff selling docs. Now had i cheep shoted the guy before pissed him off called him names or something i could maybe then understand his actiional but I had never even had a combat class before this happened and i will stick to my opinion that what he did eas lower than low he wasnt even a master anything and he knew he couldnt handle himself pvping with the real imperials so he came and took a cheep shot at me for a crappy 30 faction points

I've given up buffing for cash, I've also given up Corellia, when we can jump directly from world to world, the only reason I'll EVER go there is to pick up more brandy off my friendly chef.

I have a few sets of buffs left, that ought to last me a while at my current rate, I can earn a lot more hunting of a set of buffs than I can by selling them.

Especially when I get a bloody AT-ST so I can get decent missions, it's rediculous that you have to drop 19k faction points on one of these things just so you can get missions that are worth your time.

... and killing a buffing doc is lame, especially if you were cowardly enough to wait for the buffed player to leave so you could get easy FP off the doc.
