Thread: Where to get materials for top buffs?

If a experienced master doc could please sticky a thread on locations of materials for top doc buffs i would be in debt. Im referring to the harvesting of these materials. Planet locations mainly. What creatures drop meats etc. You catch my drift. Im just getting master doc and i havent a clue where to put my harvesters and what creatures to kill.

There already is a sticky on top, check the Doctor FAQ for a list of what creatures drop herbivore and avian meat, as well as a list of current doctor resources. Also check swgcraft.com because that's where the doctor list is compiled from.

I hate it when people ask these kind of questions, honestly if anyone actually did any crafting while working their way up the tree anymore, oh well here's my sagely advice.
Avian meat... harvested from things that fly
Reactive Gas.. harvested from the ground
Inorganic... also harvested from the ground
Organics... harvested from 1) the ground 2) anything the moves, is killed andcan be harvested from
Components
Advanced Bio Effects... just in case you forgot to look at your schematics require Tatooine fiberplast and Lokian Wild Wheat. These are aquired from.. you guessed it.. the Tatooine Fiberplast from the ground on Tatooine and Lokian Wild Wheat from the ground on Lok.
Advanced Solid Delivery Shells.. also according to the schematics.. you can access them from your data pad BTW require Domestic Oats and Dolvite Iron... these two things can also be obtained... from the ground ie, sampling or harvesting OR buying it from someones who can do these things.
Advanced Chemical Release Mechanisms... well lookie here... also in the schematics as requiring Liquid Petrol 4 and Herbavoire Meat. Herbavoire meat, kill and harvest it from things that go Moo or tend to graze alot.. with the exception of Mynocks/Vynocks and Gurks. Liquid Petrol 4... wait.. its coming.. from the ground.
If any of this doesn't make sense don't worry these ingredients are all listed in your D-Pad under schematics.
Oh and BTW you'll need a food/chem tool, and a private food/chem unit/station to craft them.

What he's trying to say (in not so friendly terms) was that if you actually spent time learning the profession as you advanced instead of uber macro grinding/tumbler healing you might not have to ask this question.
I admit I macro'ed my way through crafting but I refused to heal tumblers and got my doc xp by actually (*gasp*) healing people who needed actual healing! (boy theres a radical concept). I had given away so many buffs for xp that by the time I got to master doc I had enough components already stored up and enough knowledge from my experience as a doctor that I was all set.
Once I grinded up to doc crafting IV I had 10 points so I began tosell meds for profit and created meds for personal use as I naturally advanced up the rest of the doc tree. I became fairly well versed with the majority of the schematics that way since I was still doing tons of crafting to make my meds and as Iplayed the game I learned the ins and outs of the profession and built a fairly large supply of high quality doc supplies.
I'm still learning but I know a lot more than when I dropped my first harvester for tat fiberplast a few months ago.

avian does not just come from "things that fly" and herbivore does not just come from "things that moo and eat grass" kaadu on naboo dont fly yet they drop avian, lantern birds on endor fly yet drop herbivore.

look at this link, it lists what animals on what planets drop avian and herbivore and has great info for docs.

Also, if you want the good stuff right away, you are going to end up having to buy.. it took me a good 3 months of watching for the good spawns and collecting before I stockpiled enough to crank out some seriously good quality meds.
Unless of course you have excellent spawns of every resource you need on the server right now..
