I think a Jedi should only be able to use a twinforce crystal (in other words, craft a dual saber) when the Jedi reaches Padawan or perhaps Knight. Only then should you gain the ability to actually craft a dual saber, and get certified for it.

My only suggestions are:
Do NOT make this quest easy at all.
Do NOT give other players the ability to camp possible areas needed to advance in the quest.

Leave the path to Jedi alone! don't do quests, you are only taking away from the game.
Quests will ruin it fast !!!!
One person figures it out, next thing you know we have thousands of Jedi's running around.
Jedi is for the Elite.
Dedication and Determination!!!

A sugestion about being a dark Jedi. Dark Jedi Should be a pvp class meaning that they can attack any one and any one can attack them also once they use there flaged as being fs then they should be kos by local npc's

1. I LOVE the Idea of quests being implimented instead of Grinding mindlessly through proffessions. I realy think these quests should be slighty dificult, but NOT IMPOSSIBLE. Most of the hihger level Theme Park Missions, and even some of the NPS Mission Trees (such as boss nass) become dificult for one player to do. I realy dsont think these Jedi Quests should invilve any help from friends, they should be challanging to a single player, but not impossible. The quests should get slightly dofficult, but in different ways, not just combat enemy toughness. I think each should require some type of thinking before attempting, and each action you take should give you basic alignment changes. Such as you are lucky enough to find someone that asks a favor of you, you are givin 2 basic choices during the mission. Example:
The Jedi (Who shouldnt be revealed as a Jedi, but someone who needs help) Asks you to please Escort his brother from (Point A) to (Point B) Because he has a previous engagment, that he must attend (of course he doesent, he is just testing you). Now you soon find out after walkign a bit with the brother, that the path to (Point B) is treachorous, Filled with thiefs, and other animals of danger. Now, you have to think what your character will do. You can either chose to resort to combat, and fight your way through, killin all the animals and people, or mayeb think of a way to sneak around and avoid combat. Maybe even find a diplomatic solution. (the quest can keep a check on how many deaths you caused, and if you or they attacked first). Pretty much the ending would be diferent for each path.
To kind of allow crafters to also do this, there are more peacfull solutions, such as in the good path. but basic comabt is probobly reccomended.
I do believe you shoudl recive strange parts thorout your questing. Wich will eventualy form your first lightsaber. the final quest will give a Crystal, The color reflecting your alignment up to that point.
Now, we need it to be an advanced quest system, like each ending (good, Evil, Inbetween) will point you in a different Direction. At the end of your journy, after recieving Jedi Initiate, your aligment and quest path will send you to either Light Jedi Initiate, Dark Jedi Initiate, or Nuetral Jedi Initate. Each having its own advantageous and dissadvantouges.
During proggressions through the quests, along with the lightsaber components, one should find acces to WEAK force powers, liek very basic Telekenises, wich will make questing more fun, and add the the actualy fealing of proggression.
So, to summerize, A Force Sensitive person could find a strange person, and start a quest, the outcome, depending on how thye handled the problem, the person will kind of direct them to another person for some treason (other than they have a quest). And this would continue until thew final quest, when youve basicly figured out whats happening. There would be the last people, Dark Jedi Master, Light Jedi Master, and Nuetral Jedi Master, who would give you a crystal, than send you on a difficult and long quest, wich will inclide many different things (at this poitn each quest reflects on the Master you go to, so alignment points dont realy metter) and afterwards you are the Dark/Light/Nuetral Initiate.
2. As I stated above all NPC's will give quests. Buyt during training/proggression, I think random Force Sensitives should encounter you of the opposite alignment, and say they are going to kill you or such as part of thier training. They should be adept in the force and have a lightsaber, and be extremely difficult, but only appear 2 or 3 imes until initiate. This will provide an obstical throughout training.
3. Basicly Read 1, it explains all of this.
4. 1 Explains a bit of this, but a crafter is usualy a peacefull person. So they probobly arent going to become a dark jedi (not often yuo see and evil chef, I mean, cmon). Soi the light/Nuetral paths would include little fighting, and a lot of negotiating, and or item creation. The item creation would be basic however, but to some extent a bit difficult to find materials.
5. I fell NO other players should be required to help you at all. These quests should be difficult but not to an extreme to require 2+ characters. This is sapposed to be a basuic secret, letting others know realy isnt a good Idea. I fell the othe rForce Sensitive NPC attacks stated above should INCREASE if ons grouped with another player. Because even trusted friends can leak info on accident. Plus, in a group your easy to spot.
6. No titles should be earned till Initiate. I think thougn during training it would be:
Dark Jedi Initiate - Dark Jedi Apprentice - Dark Jedi Knight - Dark Jedi Guardian - Dark Jedi Master - ((Sith Lord - Sith Master))
Light Jedi Initiate - Light Jedi Padwan - Light Jedi Guardian - ((Light Jedi Master))
Nuetral Jedi Initiate - Grey Jedi Padawn - Grey Jedi Guardian - Jedi Master
Things I have put in the (()) should be earned, but extremely powerfull and wise.
The Dark Jedi obviously have more Positions, because thats how it works, But the Sith are a cult of powerful Dark Jedi, to become one, you must go throigh RIGOUROUS Teaining, and time consuming journeys to ear this title. A Dark Jedi is most powerfull through progression. Only at Dark Jedi Guardian I think Sith Pirge (lightning) should be accessible, and at Sith Master it is extremely powerful.
Light Jedi Masters must alos go through some tough training, but not as hard as entry to the Sith Cult. The Light Jedi are more wise and powerful, at Defence and Force Powers, but only pasive ones like heal and things like that. Shields coudl also becoke a great force power, run also.
Nuetral Jedi, these should be the most difficult to attain, it should require double the XP to move thourhg, and even to get to the final quest of nuetrility in Force Sensitivity stage will be difficult. Its hard for even a normal person to stay on the side they see as right, even to others it may not be. Nuetral jedi do embrace thier emotions, but thye use them for good, a thing not many peopel know. It takes great concentration and is difficult, but they should be the most powerfull in the force and combat. But atleast Double the EXP and Quest difficulty to attain master. Most people will probly stay away, for it is almost impossible for most not to choose a side.
These are my ideas, how I think the system SHOULD work.

One idea i believe would be very neat, would be the following:
Everyone can start a new character, even though they already have one on that server, but it will not be created the way it would normaly be, you edit your character the way you want him to look, then the computer has it changed to look like a little kid. As this kid, the game can begin in an area where only these kids can see each other, no interaction with the adults, and they can be in a hidden like area where remaining jedi are trying to teach and bring back the jedi. In this area, you should be able to do training that will take a certain amount of set hours to do, and you character grows as you do them eventually becoming a jedi padawan, where you are then told by your master you must be released, and you are set off into the real world ( in which you can know interact with everyone ), and from here you have a few but certain jedi skills, and you should have a trainers lightsaber given to you by the jedi master at the temple where the kids are being trained, and from here the quest idea should begin that willthen takeyou from padawan to knight, and then to master.

topic about becoming a jedi,
i have gave this some serious thought and i came up with the conclustion, that to become a jedi you must complete a number of quest, that shows your knowledge, your detication, and will to become a jedi. Tell me why would you become a jedi from doing randomly quest like there already is, by desideing to kill, or save and npc. Doesn't make much sence to me, the quest to becomeing a jedi should be long and difficult, meaning that you deside your faith, by doing quest that leads you on your path to a jedi. I think there shouldn't just be a randomly npc to get these quest from, the npc you get these quest from should be jedi masteres themselves, that no one can kill including BH. Then the'll ask you verious questions, and you must answer them in a mind of a jedi, then when you finally, are through talking, the'll give you a quest to help out one of there follower jedi, in need of help. This is where you deside your path, to become a jedi or dark jedi, by helping or killing the jedi.
this is what i think should be to look forward to in the upcoming jedi revamp.

No matter what you do, remove the holo grinding and revamp the Jedi profession. People say all the time it's not worth it...

Ok i Would hate to see every player a jedi so i had the idea that if you are killed by a bounty hunter then you dont just have to remake your jedi you have to do the jedi training alover again

I have been waiting for the quest system. I really think there should be a myriad of ways to go through this but non overlapping. It should very difficult but still accomplishable solo. I understand the people that ground through their classes to get to jedi, upset because others can reach what they have without the grind. Well i am equally upset that I work for a living (usually 50 hours a week) and had no feesible way of getting to jedi. I can't sit 10 hours a day grinding through classes because i have to work... i pay as much as everyone else but dont have the ability to play more, but thats life so i deal with it. The quest based system will provide those of us who work to (if we desire) reach the penultimate in the SW universe... the Jedi. Clever stepping of this process by the devs can make acheiving jedi a benefit to the galaxy, instead of the most damagingoccurence we have ever known. Perhaps when you can take your character through to jedi we will have people that are actually interested in their profession. No more swaths of AFK dancers... perhaps i can once again find an entertainers tht really wants to be one and will have the latest gossip (something i havent seen in months) or a weaponsmith that actually turns out useful weapons and not just grinding components to become master.
The Jedi quest system should be the most complicated in the game, with plenty of dead ends where one would have to back track. They should also be so numerous that trying to consolidate a list would be difficult. Let the old grinders keep their extra character for their hard *work* (yes i am jealous.... i would probably become one with galaxies given the chance
) and the new people can convert their current characters to jedi if they so desire.
