Well I have seen a lot of Broken Items and while I understand the need to keep the game crafter oriented, the schematic solution is a good thought but I noticed the like of non crafted valuables that any society would have, Gems and Jewels in loose format, I've yet to find items like a Diamond on a thief which could be sold to a crafter to make ex: necklace, ring. raw bars of silver, etc. I don't know as yet if these items are extracted in game but we combat types would find it somewhat lucrative to on the big quest find one once in awhile to sell or trade.

I'm too lazy to read all the stuff on here but I thought I'd lend my support to the idea of schematics as rewards. More skill tapes etc too would be great - I've been playing a few months and have only looted one skill tape, and that was in my first week!

Having done Jabbas palace and the warrens on Dant I wasa little dissapointed with the rewards although I must say the warrens rocked... nice bit of storyline, some puzzles to work out and stuff - kinda felt like a survival horror like Silent Hill for a bit!

Mandalorian would be cool, although the devs have said there are only *TWO* sets on every server. Dunno how we are supposed to get it. I gave up on tresure maps a long time ago.

I think a better plan would be some sort of a 100-200 Hour "Epic" Style mission from Boba Fett. MBH only.

But to the topic at hand. Q, want to give us some loot that won't upset the crafters?

Give us capes! There is even a bazaar heading for Capes! I've not seen a single one.

Cloaks, Dusters, Robes, etc. but no capes? Come on! Every cool character from SW has a cape.

(Boba Fett, Lando, Vader, Dooku, and prolly a ton more that I never noticed.)

Segments for armor/weapons/everything. If the quest rewarded segments that had to be put into new weapons/armor/droids/pets/structures, you would be 1)getting nice loot (say +4 vs knockdown) and 2)still promoting player-crafted items.

I love the idea of Schematics as drops! It keeps the crafters "in the loop" so to speak.

I personally thought the inclusion of special missions, given randomly by various NPCs was going to be the norm in SWG (rather than the cookie-cutter missions they tend to pass out). I thought (before the game came out)that you may stop and speak withsay a RebelNPC, he tells you in hushed tones that he has a very important mission, and informs you that a shuttle craft has recentlybeen shot down by the Empire and that you must go out and retreive the collection of disks that hold the special schematics for a new weapon/ component/ droid/ vehicle, and you must get it now (i.e. there is an actual time element here... you have a little time to gather your gear, get some personnel and friends, and get out there (which may not even be the same planet) and get those plans!). The cool part is if it randomly informed some Imperial Player that a shuttle craft has been downed, and that they must get out there before the rebels get those plans!

The only thing close to this that I have seen are a few NPCs that tell me they want revenge on some animal, and I must kill 16 of them or whatever. It gives me a white colored waypoint marker (always about 5000 meters away), and I go off to find the area completely empty (yet another broken mission).

I would perfer an access pass to allow your character to enter into a Rebel or Imperial base, criminal stronghold, secret cave, or secret area (such as a hidden valley or ruins). You then would aquire a special bonus, such asacase of an uber resource (for crafters), an item that can endow the user with special abilites for a limited time, or an upgrade to a suit of armor or weapon you have. I think that is a lot more interesting and enjoyable than pure uber items.

Im sorry I just dont get the whole "lets not upset the crafters" thing. I was a very active weaponsmith on sunrunner. I could run off a weapon in less than a minute, easily. Why shouldnt smeone who takes the time to spend hours doing a mission or series of missions get a reward that is equal to or *gasp* better than something I can run off in seconds?

Im all for keeping the crafter professions active and viable but there is no reason why you cant be giving comparable rewards to the folks who take the time to complete missions. Make the better things rare ..sure, make the better rewards be tied to the more difficult or time consuming missions/quests ...sure. But to say we cant give out decent rewards because of crafters is nonsense. It wasnt long ago you were complaining that crafters were makign to much money ... LOL .. hardly suprising when you make them the one and only source for decent equipment in the galaxy. God forbid the crafters should actualy have some competition huh

How about to stop introducing new things that will most likely be bugged, and fix the stuff that has already been introduced? That would be the greatest reward in my eyes.

Badges are always a good reward, faction points are nice too for faction missions, but as far as material rewards go, I would be happy receiving credits and rare resource type as a reward. I'm sure this wouldn't provide any unfair competition to the crafters.

I have been through most of the cave poi dungeons and have tried many town npc quests, here is what I found. reward vs risk on the poi's needs to be addressed, for instance : A lower risk dungeon on Rori drops +10 clothing attachements while on Endor the Orphaned Maurder poi has no loot to be found. Most of the town npc quests do not work as intended, finish a quest and they tell you 'here is this for your work', only to find nothing in inventory.

Most of the npc quests and poi's are all the same, smae layout for poi caves and same fedex quests for npcs. More 'Warren' like places would be great.

Now on loot, so far everyone is poinint towards unique schematics to drop to keep smiths in the loop. Great idea, as long as they do not price gouge :0

One item everyone needs is keys to open locked mag seals, perhaps some semi rare items can be found that smugglers can make into keys that anyone can use. Can not tell you how many times I have ran across locked goods with no smuggler to be found.

Last interesting tidbit is how loot is placed. Besides cave poi's I would like to see loot in the odder outdoor areas. I see ruins on every planet, be interesting to place a chest in a few of these or a junk pile. Make them move locations after opening so campers cant sit and open it over and over.
