Just a thought:
For every post with personal attacks on TH, threats, vulgarity etc, it decreases the chances of this full feedback (not filtered) ending up infront of the right persons.
Keep those feelings to yourself, on non-SOE-boards or at least take a deep breath before posting.
Don't get me wrong, I cancelled my two accounts yesterday, but we all know how these things really works. Threats, cussing etc feels good but it doesn't DO any good.
Very good point and nice addition here. This is not the end of the world, and not even the worst thing I've seen SWG do. Deleting all of the open service tickets was worse than this.
What makes this most frustrating for everyone is how much effort has been put in to make the powergamers happy (who own the most accounts), and how little results everyone has seen. All of the new dungeons are not a place to just go an hang out. Getting a Jedi was not for the meek. Levelling the Jedi was not fun either (and still isn't). So what does that leave us?
A game that just isn't very fun.

More than half my in-game friends-list has gone STONE COLD GREY lately.
SOE : You have driven away my friends. They have quit the game. How long do you expect me to keep playing after they have all gone?
I am hanging around for a while longer...I think I am an addict...it cant be the state of the game that's keeping me here.....
Mistakes are part of life, what matters most is how you deal with them...SOE doesn't seem to want to take their medicine...well this flu is gonna kill 'em!

The ice upon which I stand is now so thin that I am peering down into my very doom as it licks the ground I tiptoe on...The sea of SWG players lone gone...It calls me....

THyou can pass this up toSOE .... ( I'll just recondense my thoughts this time. This is gonna be a well thought out, respectful and constructive postto keep myself on the record since I have no idea what happened to my voice in the last 65 page thread with something like 1500 posts and in the neighborhood of 500+ account cancellations.)
I have a 50+ person guild to think about and I am representing my entire guild in this statement. This is a terrible decisions and shows the unprofessional nature of SOE in its customer relations. Black Star is a heavy "RP" guild and PvP's weekly. We can stand toe-to-toe against any Rebel guild on our server, we win some and we lose some. But what SOE is doing by asking us to wait four to six months is unacceptalbe. I have taken my guild down the path of self content and a self generated GCW. But that wont hold forever. I have fighters who are counting on the Combat and GCW Revamp before JTL like you all promised. You are now forcing guildleaders like me and the thousands of others to go back to our people and tell them, "Sorry folks, your promise wasnot fulfilled and the Jedi are getting the attention you all should have." You are now forcing us to factor in how many people we're going to lose in the next month.
We as the players are SWG's Stockholders, you're an investment and we will fire SOE if they do not preform to the standards they advertise. And yes, forums and website are legal documents and your company has advertised a schedual. I am being constructive in this post, but make no mistake SOE. You have me and all of my people VERY .... VERY ticked off. Some are more irate then others, but be assured your company has lost ALL credability with me and my people. And I would be willing to bet, the vast majority of the galaxies are on board. Considering the last thread, you guys have a MAJOR problem.
Black Star is also 100% space oriented, meaning we are an Imperial Naval unit. With 50+ people in our guild by the time JTL hits, lets do the math. $40 USD x 50 = $2000 just for the software purchase. $30 USD x 50 = $1500 USD permonth for both games. Wow, that adds up quick doesn't it? And we are just one guild. Make no mistake,I absolutly will not ask my guild to purchase your expansion until the ground game is fixed to the very well known and generally simple standards the galaxies have united against SOE in demanding.
On a personal note. What the heck is the Star Wars story about? Would George approve of the crap storyline that this has turned into? What happened to the kids on your side of this screen that grew up just like us watching the movies? This SWG story is NOT about the Jedi. It is about the lives of those living in it .... you (SOE) are dealing with the hopes and dreams of THREE generations of people. How dare you go send it into the **edit**ter because of your pocket books. And how dare YOU Lucas Arts for letting this happen. You should be ashamed of yourselves.
Star Wars is the Micky Mouse mega star of the Sci-Fi community. This is a story that our grandkids will watch on DVD or the computer. It is the multi-generational modern day myth that has defined the imaginations of the entire globe. You are not dealing with some dungeons and dragons geek fest. Your dealing with the craddleddreamsof millions across the planet and the 200,000+ people who saw SWG as the 1 chance to live the dream. DONT YOU DARE GO SCREW THAT UP BECAUSE YOU HAVE SOME F'D UP TIMELINE.
Here are my three recommendations and as a customer and essential stock holder in this game as a user, they should be heard if you wish to keep my last account active.
1. Give Jedi a rest until JTL is launched. OUR GCW and Combat Revamps take priority, majority rules even in business.
2. HIRE MORE PROGRAMERS. This being understaffed is a cop-out ...And whoever is prioritizing your hiring should be fired.
3. THUNDERHEART ... This ones for you buddy to pass up to your boss. Daily communication on the SWG site or forums of what the Programers worked on that day. You have lost the trust of your customer base, the excuses dont cut it. The crap answers dont cut it. If you were a politician .... well, nuff said.
SOE ... THIS IS YOUR 30 DAY NOTICE BEFORE YOU LOSE MY BUSINESS. SHOW RESULTS, DONT PROMISE ANYTHING. YOU HAVE 30 DAYS.
1 Account CANCELLED - 1 Jedi CANCELLED. I wont contribute to the mess the Jedi have created, nor will I help ruin someones gaming experience because their profession is being pushed off when they deserve this work MORE then the Jedi.
So TH .... how was your day man? Sucks we all put the deathblow on you.
Just for the record ... you and Jester asked for our help. I am attempting to contribute something to as many of your posts you put up asking for our feed back. IfI can contribute one ounce ... then I did my job as a stock holder in this game.

That document is also an excellent example of good feedback since it shows a Red_Name in control of the situation. I can't understand why things didn't really continue in that fine tradition. And seeing how good understanding of the balance problems it shows, it's a true mystery it wasn't followed up better.

TH, WHY should we pay for 6 MONTHS for the BASIC COMBAT Fixs we need TODAY?
You are basically asking all of us to sit around and do NOTHING Until YOU get around to doing the Combat Fixs and that is 6 MONTHS AWAY!!!!!!!!
WHY should we pay?

Repost of my eariler comments.
Ok, now I've had a day to digest all that has been said and go over some past comments and answers.
Here are my thoughts and questions.
1. For the better part of the last year, you (the devs) have put too many eggs into one basket. The much commented on combat balance/combat revision has been a kind of catch-all for questions/bugs/whines of your customers. This much refered to publish was even postponed a few months ago so that it could be done "right." Question: Why didn't the resources get assigned to the combat changes at that point and what is being done on your end to ensure that these resource allocation problems do not occur again? (because players are seeing a pattern)
2. The GCW Revamp has not been on the table as long as the expansion or the combat changes (it should be noted that the expansion pre-dates any mention of combat changes). However, it has also been refered to, and therefore hyped, by the Devs as a PVP catch-all. (See various "19 Answers posts") Question: What will you do to encourage more PVP (and PVP fun) in the coming months until the GCW revamp? (Some people estimate at least 6 months until this hits test.)
3. Sharing of schedule with the community. This is a double edged sword as I'm sure you know. However, it is also something that is difficult to stop doing once you have started.Question: When will the community see a revised (all be it a draft) time-line for the promised changes (Fixes) to SWG?
4. The question from item 1 leads into this. It seems to your customers that you are short handed when it comes to programers. Much of your current staff is commited to the production of JTL. Question: Does this kind of announcement to the community signal that you do infact need to hire more programers, and are you going to do so? Second question: If the answer is no to the previous question, then what is to prevent this situation for happening again when you begin development of your next expansion(which should begin about 2-3 months after JTL releases if you follow other game's lead), or will there be a reduction in monthly fees (which is doubtful as I don't think you've paid off years of development costs yet)?
5. Direct question: What has been the responce from the Lucas side to all of this? Are the programers SOE, or LA people? Are programers from the other side available to help out if one side is responsible?
Ok, think 5 is enough. Hope this gets a reply. I've never had one yet.

(Yes, I am paying for 3 accounts right now, so you can see I do love Star Wars...just not sure about SWG some times.)

The only reason I haven't quit yet is because this is STAR WARS. ANY OTHER GAME AND YOU WOULD HAVE ABSOLUTELY 0 SUBSCRIBERS.
