This may have been stated, but I did not feel like reading 60 pages, lol.

I loved the way that KOTOR handled the Jedi advancement.

Don't have dark/light quests, just have different ways to finish the quest.

Say you have a mission to track down a run away someone that owes a debt. Well you can either convince him to pay the money and let him go, (light), or you can kill him and loot his corpse (dark). Either way you finish the mission, and gain points either to the light, or the dark. Also like on KOTOR, you had a screen to look at the see your current possition light/dark, to see if you need to be more carefull on who you kill, or not be so goody goody.

Also one of my favorite quests on there was the 2 guys that were acussed of killing the one guy, and you had to ask many questions, and try to come to a just decission, on who did what. I think this kind of thing would be great. I LOVE that game!!!!

Sorry it is not a Sony game, but it is Starwars! lol

I hope this will be the way many of the quests will be!!

I have a few great ideas for Jedi.

The first is about the trainers. What it could happen is you start out in a new city called The Lost City of the Jedi when you first unlock the FSCS. As soon as you start you will meet your Jedi Master and he will tell you blah blah blah and that if you need counseling about blah blah then he will be in the council room. Each Master will have as many Padowans as needed and to keep BHs from camping the place the city will be only accesable and findable by Jedi.

Next is the FSCS. I kinda had to think about this one but then it suddenly popped into my head and i had an idea forming before i knew it. What could happen is at some random time in the next two weeks after publish happens you will see someone being attacked/killed/harrassed. Some sort of cut scene or something happens and you get an extra boost of power to defeat the attacking opponent. If you decide not to, the FSCS will not be unlocked and you will have another chance sometime in the two weeks after that. After you rescue the guy he will say you have shown remarkable courage, but it is unwise to kill a dark jedi, for now they will be marking your every step blah blah blah. Then sometime, any random time you will be attacked and right before you are killed (this attacker has to be truly invincable) a jedi will come from no were and slay the attacker. He will say blah blah i have just made it in tme before you were discovered then he tells you about the force and boom-you have the slot!

Plz send mea PM if you would like to discuss this with me we could maybe brainstorm some ideas or something.

Seeya later!!!

I like basically what most of what I am hearing

Bottom line

  • The quest have to be extensive and detailed ( Not long questnecesarily but it could vary)

  • Granted certain titles andabilities at specific times ( This maybe can change or vary also)

However, there are problems with theJedi professionthe can be addressed by using the quests as well. For example, I have heard Jedi complain that their lightsaber does kinetic damage ( Oh so sad boo whoo ) And watching two jedi go at it with lightsaber when both have high kinetic armor is less than fruitless if not a long drawn out affair.

In the jedi quest this can be solved, by having certain quest allow your lightsaber to obtain certain kinds of damage. For instance, default could be kinetic but after a few quests or special crafting it can obtain the cold damage status or heat

There every jedi will be, to some extent different and unless you find out what damage his saber does and protect yourself, otherwise it will be is guess work and/or prepartion. this would not necessarliy make things hard for either side ( Jedi or Bounty Hunter or etc..) But add an extra element to the game and force more intense prep and training

And for the record I am no Jedi or BH I was just thinking about a jedi plight ( and sick of hearing them whine

Also quest can different types not just for your abilities, maybe clothes and resources also can be granted ( I am sick also sick of them whining that they can't find rescources)

I think the jedi quests should be very secert.

I mean I don't think to get jedi you should go to dant ruins and then do 20 missions.

I think that there should just be like 50 missions or more spread all over the galaxiy once you do one at the end of the quest the Npc's gives you a hint to the next mission. also like profession grinding the missions should be diffrent for everyone. Lets say I do a mission the the guy says "I would suggest you take a trip to the dune sea. then there is a random Npc that spawns there with your next mission. but its a random spawn and it would take people awhile to find

This is the problem i see with thi snew path to your force sensitive slot. i think the rest of the way up to master jedi is really good the way your gonan change it, but the problem is the path to become force sensitive. Now, instead of everyone and there mother grinding professions to open the fs slot, everyone will now be linign up to do jedi missions. In fact i think twice as many people that were grinding professions will be linign up to do these missions. people are gonan think "Hey it was to annoying to master proffesions to open my FS slot, But now missions !?! hey i can do that" it doenst matter how many missons you make , everyone is gonna be doin them 24/7 , they will tottaly forget about the rest of the game and all there gonan do is FS missions, i guaruntee you that. You shoudl make teh way to becoem force sensitive a lottery. Thast right , a lottery. 1 a month you grab a random player from each server, and BAM you have a new Force sensitive player. This way everyone has an equal chance of getting jedi. No one will complain " hey that guy is a master tk and rifle man, im onl a master marksmen, he has a better chance then me , its no fair" This will also limit the jedi on each server, like its suppossed to be at the time frame. Once this new system u have is implemented , everyone on every server will eventually be a jedi. it might not be over a few weeks, but EVERYONE will end up being a jedi. then u can just call the game Jedi academy 2. If u make a random lottery, everyone will relax and play the hard worked on content that you DEVS made for everyone to enjoy.

I think that there should be only very very few jedi allowed in each galaxy, say no more than 10-15. These jedi should be made up from players who virtually live on the character. They should have their own chat channel and be next to unstoppable in game.

they shouldnt be next to unstoppable, cause that would defeat the purpose of the bounty hunter in the game.

My input is this: The path to becomingFS should be soloable. This doesnt mean that it has to be easy but i think it should be something that just one person can accomplish on his/her own.

I think a quest system would be awesome what the quests should be is lots of traveling seeing all parts of the galaxy so that people don't group up to do them. I think there should be quests in where you have to negotiate and humble yourself such as a jedi would for the betterment of everyone. I think dark jedi are acaused because i nstead of humbling the kill the person they were suppose to converse with. There definitely needs to be enough quests so that people just don't finish it in a day. some of the quests should be tactics training such as teaching you when to use certain jedi skills and when not to use them. Also you could have force missions such as moving blocks or objects with the force until you solve a puzzle or make something out of it. Jedi defnitely need to be able to function on their own so make it impossible to do group missions as well

Thank you for changing the system , my suggestions are as follows A:the holocrons that are out there still guide the aspiring Jedi on their personal quest toward that goal,no trainers etc.and the holocron is the interface for them to pick the path they choose and lets them know when they are leaning to the dark side, missions would be random so you can't guess what's next or do it too soon.B: the jedi created is the original player character's avatar NO second character it just adds another set of skill trees to the player eliminating several problems associated with dual characters and logging.C: Most Jedi's suffer great losses personally in the books and movies SWG should be no exception.D:Missions should be as diverse as possible but not pure combat or require the aid of other aspiring jedi's or friends on some occasions but not all.Just my two-credits worth . Thanks

I won't criticize the new system, since its not out yet and we don't really know how well it works yet. I just want to point a few things out. First, according to the movies, and even all the books, people don't learn how to become force sensitive, they're born force sensitive. So right now, it seems like it would make more sense as far as story line goes to keep the FS character as a second character that has the option to become jedi. If you make it so that your main character can become a jedi, then what that really means is everyone in the whole galaxy is actually force sensitive, they just don't know it yet.

The other thing is about holocrons in response to people's posts to keeping them as part of the process. According the books and comics (holocrons weren't mentioned in the movies) holocrons were made by jedi FOR jedi. They were tools to help teach other jedi how to use the force. It didn't make sense for holocrons to tell you how to become FS, because holocrons are tools for people who already are FS. If you want to keep them in the game, it would make the most sense to have them out there as a substitute for an actual jedi master to teach you. They didn't seem to be all knowing, so it would make sense for them to have a limited set of abilities that they could teach, so you would probably need several holocrons if you wanted to learn all the force abilities out there. Also, when a jedi used a holocron it didn't get destroyed or go away. It was still around for other people to use and learn from...

i think one of the most important factors to consider(if not the most important factor)when forming this new jedi system is to make these quests and or missions for anyone becoming a jedi,to allow that person to engage in these quests on thier own and not have to rely on grouping with others in order to complete or to just plain ole have a chance to defeat a difficult npc. i mean after all it's that oneperson who is making the committment to become a jedi not neccessarily the others he/she might have to be grouped with in order to complete the tasks given. i think swg should allow for players to solo more(ESPECIALLY FOR JEDI QUESTS))rather than always have to worry or rely on groups to be successful in the game.

to add to my previous post...i think a good place to look for the different types of jedi there should be is "knights of the old republic" which i think is an excellent example of how jedi should be sorted(and also based on each players individual choices and actions) b/c have diferent types of jedi inthe game would add a whole lot of realism and dynamics to swg. also i think it would suck if after you die a certain amount of times as a jedi that you lose the character(after working so hard to obtain a force sensitive character) othe rtypes of penalties should be incurred. however, and definitely important... make it fun!!
