I'd like to add that ANY misconceptions on this forum lay fault with SOE management. Your inability to communicate effectively with your customers has to be the scariest fact of all.

I hope that the quests are a good mixture, not just kill and escort. Jedi are keepers of the peace, Padawans should take missions from a jedi, maybe one of the ones on Dant, or place them randomly on planets and start by taking missions from a terminal but as you progress, you are lead to a jedi in hiding and take missions from him and get training from him/her.

Yes I am aware that in the story line at this pointD.V had killed all but Luke and his sister but then if wewent by that, it would be silly for us to bacome Jedi. We are becoming Jedi and so it sould be interesting and the missions should vary. I reccomend that the Devs take a little time and read some of the SW mini stories. They are only about 150 to 200 pages and I read them in 1 day, these books are for J.R. High level so its simple to read them. They have a very good example of the various types of missions that padawans do, with and without their masters. These are also interesting stories, not just stupid writings that make no sence.

Perhaps even have us do a mission supporting an NPC Jedi or another Padawan, as a Padawan would. Maybe guard a meeting of diplomats or be sent on a delivery mission and it change to a mission where you must keep the peace. Also, a Jedi or Padwan is not always going to win a fight, knowing when to fight and when not to fight is both equally important. This is one of the things a Jedi must know.

It would be nice if there were even Acts for Jedi to do, just like there are ones for the regular players. Make several Jedi tam up to accomplish something that one or 2 jedi might not be able to do alone.

I did not post this as an idea to be in stone, I just want to get thinking started outside the box. If you read this, use it to inspirequest ideas for any level, Jedi, Padawan, pre-Jedi. It doesn't matter to me, and its never to late to consider new ideas. I believe SWG is going to be around for a bit, the best way to insure that, is to make it interesting. Havethis game stay on the cutting edge, dont let it slide into the background by letting some other company add to their game what you had the chance to do first.

I have 4 SWG accounts, I am 37 and game with my three kids 12, 14, 16. I hope SOE and Lucas Arts keeps it fresh. Thank You for allowing meto have acool way to spend time with my kids.

Wow I only hope someone somewhere reads this...I barely made it through the first and last pages, so I'll keep my post short and sweet:

Everyone, casual gamers included, want to be able to play a bit with a Jedi char...and it takes a LOT of work right now to get past only the padawan level, from what I hear.

I think the quest idea is great. If my picture of it fits it will be nearly seamless: all accounts get 2 characters per server, with 10 lots to split (like an auto FSCS). This is to include your current 'main'. Prievious holo grinders will be able to start these quests 80% (4/5ths) done (as they did 4 holos and are on the fifth)...so that is why the main *can be* the Jedi...so as not to regrind 5 professions. The quests will likely include similiar grinding for 5 clearly labelled professions ..not 4 and a guess at 28 others. In addition, they may include crafting very diffcult things (eg, force items requiring materials with 900+ to all stats), but they will be doable insimiliar fashion to the current quest. The only reason the 'main' would be able to get FSCS is to appease those who have unsuccessfully grinded through 22 profs. This will allow casual gamers some fun, power gamers to be certain what that last 'silent' holo was, and the community at large will be a much happier place.

Well, except commandos and smugglers

Here is an idea frome someone who quit and is currently back:

I like it that the devs finally decided to change the system...personally i think this should take precedence over the first jedi revamp but whatever.

The primary concern to take into consideration the people who are pretty far along their jedi path currently. For example I've mastered 14 professions not including the 4 for the path. Only six of them are listed. I know the badges arent retroactive soI have no way of proving the professions I have done previous to the badge patch...however There are 4 professions towards the jedi slot i have done...and the 6 i have badges for. So i would like to be placed adequately in the path. If its a 32 part quest put me at a minimum of step 11.

If users who have mastered almost every profession and get put back at ground zero...I forsee a lot of frustrated people.

Secondly, dont make the quest thing a mystery. It better not be some random npc that you have to find in the middle of nowhere...since that would really be making backwards progress.

As for the quests...they should be individual...or 2 people at most if possible(master/apprentice type deal).

It should be fairly difficult since you want jedi to be rare...and depending on how much this 1st jedi revamp is going to change....they may be getting rid of one of the biggest deterrents from being a jedi in the first place.

If anyone cares the reason I quit was not frustration just...boredom. I came back after about 2 1/2 months so my character wouldnt be deleted and to be able to have a say into the changes that are going to be made.

If everybody is getting 2nd slot what is the advantage of grinders here? I want holo grinding system to change also but sounds like new system will punish them if devs are not thinking of anything else as they cant have force sensitive main also than O.o

Hello, This re-vamp almost sounds like us people that have been grinding and have not unlocked FSCSyet are getting the short end of the stick. I know the people that have already unlocked it are getting reemed as well but also have the FSCS. This new system sounds like we will have to start basically from square one again. Not sure sure how this can be worked out but I don't want mytime wasted that I have spent grinding 16 professions and still going. I am sure there are others out there as well that feel the same way.

Thanks

Y cant u guys just basically build a version of KOTOR into SWG following some of the smae story lines, but making missions uber long and complicated. Dont involve too much combat, so that crafters will have chance to. However, depeding on your profession the missions you get should be different, still some how cleverly all ending you up in the same place as Jedi.

I have an idea about the jedi system that could be implemented. In reguars to the quest system, thats a good idea. What i would add to that is a rating system on how the player did. For example, lets say a player gets a destroy quest

here is what i want to know under the new system it seems like everyone is going to go through the same deal here where they are all going to have a jedi character off the bat, they just have to spend the skill points......THATS NOT GOOD i have been hologrinding for 4 months now and i have put in a lot of time into making jedi knowing about the patch its been under time constraints because the new system will put us back to square one. also now what u are suggesting is that everyone is going to start out the same, what is the point everyone wants to be a jedi and everyone will be using a lightsaber....whats the point of that....force push everyone?

I posted this in the Jedi forums, but I thought I'd post it here aswell, as it belongs here as much as there :

OK, we all know that the current Crystal & Pearl system cannot be sustained, especially with the increasing number of people unlocking their Jedi - there just aren't enough crystals and pearls about.

I had this idea about how Jedi could gain Crystals and Pearls, whilst still allowing for them to be sold in the economy.

Mission terminals detect if the player is FS or not, if they are, aswell as Destroy and Deliver, there's a Jedi tab.
These missions do NOT pay cash, they pay Points (a better name can come later ).

By doing these missions, you earn points. There could be different kinds of missions ranging from your usual "go and wipe dantooine out of Pickets" and delivery missions, to quest based ones.
Now, these points can be spent at special vendors. These vendors would offer Crystals and Pearls, ranging from cheap ones that have the worst stats, up to expensive ones with excellent stats.
Obviously, the prices would need to be at the point where a top end Pearl takes days of work to earn at the least, if not longer, but it would mean there is a constant supply of crystals and pearls that Jedi without Armoursmith main chars can afford.

There would still be a market for dropped ones, as not everyone wants to run missions all the time, and they may not be earning enough points to get the ones they want, so will buy them instead.

I dont know how this would fit, if at all, with the Jedi revamp, but I thought it was worth posting

i personally think the jedi system should be bases on kotor (knights of the old republic) where we add force stuff on to our already existing charecters , This may be a lot harder to because if that were so then everyone would be a jedi and there would be no point , but witht this make it so you have to do ceartin things to get skills and you have to act a ceartin way to gain ranks.
