Thread: Exactly which guns will the fix be fixing?

It will affect the HAM costs on DH17s right? But will this also lower the HAM on a Laser, E11, Elite, and so on?

I don't know if they have a stock or not, which seems to be the problem.

*starting to lose faith this will be fixed any time soon*

If its two weeks from when the update goes to Test Center....and it hasn't gone to Test Center yet...

... yeah, lame.

From what I understand it is the HAM cost that will be fixed for all weapons. It's just too high.

would please post the link to the thread where they said this would fix all the carbines?

all i recall holo saying what they would be fixing stocks and beefing up scopes. that only really covers the ee3 and laser carbines which require stocks on them.

The ee3 requires a stock? I thought it was the DH17 that needed a stock. Or do they all require stocks?

And wasnt there a bug with the experimentation on HAM also?

sorry, if i wasnt clear.

i meant to say ee3's, laser carbines and cdef carbines are the ones that dont require stocks, everything else does. that being said, the stats on ee3's and laser carbines are still horrible compared to pistols or rifles, so that why i would like to either have holo answer the questions(yeah right) or have someone post a link to where they said the fix would fix all carbines.

So lets see, I spent a lot of time playing to work up my Carbine tree so I can spend 125k Carbine Weapons Experience on a skill that has a bugged title, and jacked up HAM costs. I use an EE3 Carbine that does 49-126 damage at a speed of 4.1 seconds. Sure, you can just use the default attack, ensuring it will take you forever to kill critters that are worth fighting (example: Tortur Bulls) - but, you just spent a lot of XP and some of your skill points on this new skill. What do you get..

Action Shot 2, Full Auto Shot 2

Perfect, so.. I see the Tortur Bull, I use action shot twice on him, and that takes 90 HAM points away from me. Then, I take advantage of his imobility and fire off Full Auto, doing around 650 damage.. this takes away 125 HAM points. Yes, 125 points. My EE3 has insane numbers for the HAM costs.. but what am I supposed to do, use my old CDEF if I don't want to deal with these dramatic costs?

As of right now I have to make several stim packs in order to "stay in the game", or stay in the battle rather. If I don't have stims, I'm screwed. Fighting a Tortur Bull is hard enough, those huge turtles really put the hurt on you if you don't pay attention. So to add onto the problems, the carbine has insane HAM costs.. so that when I'm being chased and I need to use Action Shot 2.. and I miss, I get 90 points taken away from my HAM. Thats another issue that needs to be addressed.. being at your optimal range and missing 4-5 times in a row.

And another thing.. I target a big Tortur Bull, and I fire.. yet for some reason my bolt flies sideways and hits the Sludge Panther that's about 10 meters away from my target.. and too often I'm not hitting what I actually have targeted (yes I'm sure they're targeted so save your breath). So now when I'm trying to single out one creature in a mob, there is pretty much a 98% chance that I'm going to hit something near it, pissing off even more creatures.. like today, I shot at a Tortur Bull, but I hit the Meager Tortur that was 20 meters away from him.. then I fired again, and I hit the Tortur Bull.. but it was one that was a good 40 meters away from the one I was targeting. It didn't stop there, because some Sludge Panters came in to fight off the Tortur.. I fired, and with one Action Shot, I hit three creatures. I hit two Sludge Panthers, and the gigantic Tortur Bull.. but now I'm rambling.

Action Shot 2 is an area effect attack. If you only want to hit one creature in a group, use Action Shot 1.

I have an ee3 made by a very skilled weaponsmith and it has pretty reasonable HAM costs. It still drains me faster than a pistol or rifle, but it isn't stupidly bad.

But if you do the math is it on average more or less efficient than a CDEF and by how much? That's the important thing.

I think zepp hit it on the head, it comes down to DPS and with a cdef carbine, you can spam your specials all day long pretty much. Sure ive got a well made EE3, but i never use it. Sure i can do some nice hits with it, but im half dead after fighting a giant wort form the damage i take using my gun, not from the wort........not to mention, if you try and conserve you action, you sit using regular attacks that dont match up to good special s on a cdef. so i take my cdef instead where sure it might take me a few moments longer to kill my enemy, but im in great shape after the fight and i dont have stop and rest after every 3 or 4 targets.
