Thread: Does actionshot1 suppose to do this...?

I just got my action shot and went to test it out. Low and behold I can solo red con mobs that would otherwise destroy me. I stood about 50 meters away from a humbada and did my usual kneel aim actionshot X 3 macro and the thing could not run at me. It was stuck in place. I just kept doing my macro and I was able to kill it about 45 meters away from me and I never moved an inch. Is this working as intended? I use a laser carbine.

Action Shot has the effect of Supression Fire on the gun. It's safe to say that this wasn't intentional. Because of this, whenever you use Action Shot 1 you change the monster's posture (Standing to Kneeling, Kneeling to Prone).

Action Shot 2 (Novice Carbineer) has an area effect and therefore changes the postures of the creatures within the area.

This is the 1 (count em, 1) advantage to the carbineer class. Taking advantage of a bug....sad isnt it?

the more i look at the more i wish i didnt think it was a bug. The fact that action two has it may prove that it is not a bug but i'm not sure that it is enough evidence in itself. Personally i see it effect fitting right into my idea of a carbineer. I mean come on you have the fast pistoleer the sniper and what are we. The general machine gun infantry. we hit multiple targets and provide our commrades benefits on the battlefield. At least thats my imagefrom our abilities so far. please devs dont take our only good thing

I'm all about stuns and what not for the carbineer class. But I think that using it over and over again should cut its duration. It should be a time based type of stun. More of a crowd control type of shot.

Hi, I do not believe this is a bug, it's the only advantage that carbineers have over anything else. Action shot makes the target unable to perform any "action" for about two seconds. Maybe entitling it "foot shot" would be more approriate. Because I know that when you get shot in the foot, it a) makes you bleed and b) makes it impossible to walk for a few moments after the initial pain. You can watch any western to check this theory or shoot yourself in the foot, I can gaurantee that these two things will happen.

Hmm. I have never seen a creature's posture change, only outright knockdowns.

I don't think this is a bug, personally.

Rifles hit the mind pool, which can't be healed except by Zabraks.

Pistols do not suffer any movement problems, and rapid fire their specials with their faster speed.

Carbines should do soemthing to balance those. Actionshot when fired is "Debilitating Shot". SHooting someone in the leg seems to me to be the one thing that should force someone to their knees.

And it only works on meleers. Other ranged weapon users just laugh and plug away at you.

its a bug, actionshot does what suppression fire is supposed to do.

if action shot if correct in its current form, then what is suppression fire's purpose?

Just in case you guys didn't know, in Beta, SuppressionFire1was in Advanced Counterinsurgency, but after Beta and before Release, they moved it to Ranged IV.

And now SuppressionFire2 is at Master Counterinsurgency all out of place...

So it was designed as a carbineer skill, but then given to all marksmen, but then turned off and put inside of Actionshot to give it back to carbineers by accident...

Karma, I tells ya!

Vol,

I remember trying to use Supression Fire1 in the Beta tons of times. I really wanted it to work so I could stop TKAs dead in their tracks in PVP and make it more convienent. But it never worked, at all. So I just kited them like everyone else, which brought up huge threads. I never had a chance to use Surpression Fire 2 in the Beta so I couldn't say if that worked like it was suppose to. But I know that Supression Fire 1 was in the ranged spec box for quite a bit and, unfortunately, it did then what it does now. Nothing.
