I bought it off the bazaar. It looks just like a CDEF Carbine except that it's all black. It's called "DH17 Carbine". I do have DH17 Carbine certification, yet when I equip this weapon it says I'm not skilled enough to use it, and when I examine it it says "uncertified".

I really wish the devs wouldinclude the true item type somewhere on the examine screen, because right nowcrafters can nametheir items whateverthey like, and can lie about what they actually are.

im pretty sure you have to be declared imp to use it, since its a faction weapon. Or maybe the other way around.

I know the dh-17 pistol looks like the CDEF carbine .. as for the 'full black' thing, dunno.

there is always the possibility that it is actually a snub nose carbine (dh17) for which you aren't certified until the skill level above the one at which you gain dh17.

I'll post more details tonite, including Damage and Speed of the weapon. I just declared Imp, so maybe that'll do it. I haveadvanced carbine skills in the marksman tree, on my way to expert, so I think I already have DH17 as well as the DH17 snubnose certification.

I have looted these off rebel npcs before. I killed a mynock with one and it gave me carbine xp. It's a carbine. Bad certifications.

For some reason on my carbine tree there's DH17 Snubnose cert but no dh17 carbine cert at all.......i've checked all the tiers. oh well i'm up to laser carbine now anyway but I bought one of those DH17 that are all black and could not use it either. it advised me that i was not certified to use the weapon. I just sold it.

Dunno what caused that or the lack of regular DH17 cert anywhere in my carbine tree (this is marksman tree not carbineer tree)

The regular DH17 cert is on novice marksman if you forgot to check there

This has already been said but I know the DH17 pistol resembles a carbine, even how the character holds it and the graphic. I was training pistol skills and wondered why the pistol I just bought looked so much like a carbine, thought someone mislabeled the gun for some reason, gave me pistol experience though, so I didn't complain. I think it could use a different graphic though.

I have novice carbineer. I have one of these gun black polished DH17's and get teh same but. the snubnose looks different than this one as I have a snub to compare it to. its pasically a DH17 with a black colored barrel yet I am unable to use it with certification. I've sent in a bug report which I am sure the game utilised the bits to lag everyone. so dont worry.

the bug report has surely been deleted by now.

I'm well into the carbineer skill tree. However, I have one of those all-black DH17 carbines and it still says I am not certified to use it. Must be bugged.
