Broken AE/crowd control moves? AE ranged knockdown that doesn't work, but is given to master pistoleers instead?

Ok, on a more serious note, good armor piercing damage with a good rate of fire and a more workable optimum distance than rifles.

The carbineer'sadvantage over pistoleer is the armor peircing

The carbineer's advantage over rifleman is the control shots, ie posture down and knock down (at lower levels carbines have a speed advantage, but this isn't a facter at the higher levels)

ok we all know pistol is good because there are so many and they all attack the health

and rifle is good because of range and they attack the vulnerable mind pool

but carbines seem to be the 5th wheel they attack the action pool which is usually large on combatives,

it can be effectivly healed with standard stems and usually there are not enough of them to do any real effect

so what makes a carbine shine over a pistol or rifle?

Don't forget that the action pool is usually the pool that is drained from the most while using specials. Especially for pistoleers. So hitting the action pool isn't such a bad thing.

Yes well remember fullauto 1&2, Burstshot 1&2, and regular attackshit thehealth pool. SO even if we want to hit the action pool we need to use crippleshot, actionshot 1&2 and legshot 3 which all kill my HAM while doing little damage which can then be healed with a stimpack. Also as a carbineer we're more prone to drawn out combat because of our bleeds and few high damage specials, so we can't wear armor effectively. What I try to do is find out what my enemy is shooting at me and only protect that area with my stormtrooper armor. Pistol=chest plate and helmet, carbine = leggings, rifle = helmet.

Well, Carbine doesn't get the gimpy 3x melee damage and miss like all fark at close range that the rifle gets, and it gets AR2 class weapons which (once PvP armor is fixed) will give them a 'nitch' in PvP.

Also: Carbines are 'effective' from all ranges, which means that yeah, you won't be able to hit as much as a riflemen from 60m, or as much as a pistoleer from 2m, but you will be able to hit things WAY more than pistoleers at 60m, and way more than riflemen at 2m.

IMHO its the AR2 weapons that will make a big diff once PvP armor is fixed.

Carbines are also area attack specialists. Pistols and Rifles only get area attacks at Master; Carbines get area attacks starting at Novice and keep getting area attacks through the entire skill tree. Including area posture-down and area knockdown. Oh, andcarbines also get the most posture-down and knockdown effect attacks out of all the weapons. And many of the 'high damage' carbine specials have some sort of status effect like stun, blind, or dizzy.

Commando area damage will probably exceed carbine area damage, but they still won't have the knockdowns, posture downs, and status changes that carbineers do.

oh, and the pistol AE knockdown is a bug and will be fixed sooner or later. I highly doubt that 'disarmshot2 is supposted to be an AE knockdown

Maybe it is a bug that it knocks down, but by your statement that:

"I highly doubt that 'disarmshot2 is supposted to be an AE knockdown"

What better way to disarm someone than to knock them down? They could leave this skill alone and it would be perfecy fine.

I think that actually disarming them by forcing their weapons to unequip would be a better answer. It would actually disarm them as opposed to knocking them down or damaging their weapon, which doesn't disarm them.

Knocking a weapon out of their hand would be the height of useless. Equipping items takes nanoseconds.
