Thread: Kiting, how do I look behind me?
I've looked through the keymap menu and can't find a way to do this, although I'm pretty sure there is a way. When I'm running from a mob(s), how do I look behind me so I can select targets, using tab or otherwise, and keep running in the opposite direction?
I know that if I use the period key on the keypad it turns a chase camera off and on, but I have yet to see that have any effect on anything.
Thanks for any help,
From a few years of Jedi Knight and Jedi Knight 2, I have taught myself to instantly reverse my fingers. What I do when running away is press Alt to go to mouse look, then turn the camera around. Then my instinct comes in, and I go from moving forwards facing forwards to moving forwards facing backwards (basically, the down arrow now goes forward instead of backward, since my camera always faces the forward direction). It takes some getting used to, but when you're using Force Speed, running the Flag, and trying to gun down your pursuers, you kinda are forced to mirror your controls manually.
Dunno if this will help you. Works for me. ![]()
I'm not sure if this will help:
But get used to using the distance meter. Or like the others said use the down arrow to run forward.
As for the tab key I can't ever get mine to alternate targets unless I am facing that specific direction. And turn on your overhead map, always helps to keep an eye on everything.
