Thread: Pistol 3 more effective than Advanced Carbine Skills
I was just fooling around, getting a little skills in pistol to see how it compares to carbine, and was shocked to see that I am a much better pistoleer than I am a carbiner, even though I'm only at expert pistol and have three intermediate carbine skills and one advanced carbine skill.
The weapons themselves are similar, but in measures of effectiveness, the Carbine is carp.
This is for both PvP and PvE.

Well, Expert Pistol is well beyond Advanced Carbine, so no wonder that it is better than carbine. But never forget, that the carbine threatens the ACTION pool which is mostly lower than the health pool. and then... full auto is only usable with a carbine...
my tip... use action/leg shot and they fall... just look on the HAM costs for special moves.

He has at least 3 skill boxes in carbineer on top of all 4 marksmancarbine skills. And, he only has the 3 marksman pistol skills...yet....he's much more effective with pistol than carbine....which is just plain wrong....
I've noticed the same thing as i have 4 boxes in carbineer now and just the 4 marksman pistol skills yet i'm alot more powerful using pistol than carbine...
After looking through all the pistol trees...all i can say is i'm not sure why the heck i or anyone would continue to raise carbineer.....i think i'll switch to pistoleer unless carbineer is fixed soon.
Thanks for pointing out the issue at hand, which is that Carbines suck. I havn't ever tried a rifle, but pistols just completely own.
Another issue that I have is that last night during PvP an Imperial managed to get one shot off on me, a healthshot, doing 336 constitution damage.
He didn't keep up the "kill your killer" TEF, so I went to the med center to heal. Half hour later, I was finished. Since I was still overt, I saw a overt Imp coming into Anchorhead. I headed out to kill him, he got one healthshot off, doing about 250 strenght damage.
Effectively I got about 580 wounds from two shots from two players. Sure I probobly did the same to them,but **edit**, this downtime sucks. The numbers of wounds need to be tamed down a bit.
On a different note, I don't even understand why a "bolt of searing energy"makes people bleed, instead ofcauterizing flesh like any normal piece of energy would do.If melee were the only class that could make people bleed, or if it was weapon specific, I would be alot happier and I think everything would be alot more balanced.
