Thread: Future Combat Medic looking into Carbines
Hi, I was going to go the route of Combat Medic and according to allakhazam.com character builder I have enough skillpoints leftover to fully claim one tree of Carbineer (Why is it Carabineer in the forum title btw?). I am considering Assault Tactics because the Carbine Speed and Scatter shot looks like it will meld with the combat medic role.
Is this a solid plan?
I think the question at hand is: "what do you want to be able to do?"
Dish out big damage? Do area-effect attacks? Knockdowns? Bleeds? Stuns/dizzy? Health pool? Action pool?
While Carbine HAM costs are indeed bugged, they will probably never be as low as a pistol's (rightly so), so keep that in mind to balance out with your CMing. While you can heal yourself nicely, its still something to remember.
The ScatterShot/Wildshot tree is probably want you want....
... unless you want to save up a huge amount of Combat XP and go up the FullAutoArea/ChargeShot tree.
Hi all,
Saw this thread and thought I'd throw my 2 creds in. Novice Carbineer/Master medic here also working my way to combat medic. I've been having a blast with the combo. Really can't say enough good things about the match so far. I kind of consider myself a combo healer & crowd controller.
Usually let the riflemen initiate combat, then throw insomeactionshots or actionshot2's (gotta love that aoe)to stop any advances. When in the thick of things I find myself ignoring the mobs for the most part and concentrating on the group lists HAMs. Then going /assist and auto attack to keep up with the heals. Unless the main tank gets dizzy/blinded/stunned then I fire off a warning shot, peace and heal, then let the mobs have it in the back with legshots or fullautos as they run.
Kind of makes me feel like a combat medic from WWII movies
.
Okay, it's just one tree. I'm not going for the big damage, or the area effect. I'm looking to do effective assists, so knockdowns or any other type of assisted damage.
Assisting damage to either health or mind (I think I'm the only Carbine User in my regular group) would be useful as well.
